Nationals' Jacob Young: Collects three hits, stolen base
Young went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and one RBI in Monday's 8-4 victory over Atlanta.
Young hit three singles and added his 12th RBI of the season in the sixth inning. Most importantly to fantasy owners, the Washington center fielder swiped his 16th base, moving him into a tie for fourth place in the majors. Overall, Young sports a .275/.329/.328 slash line in 146 plate appearances with 23 runs scored. He should continue to play full time despite Lane Thomas (knee) returning Monday, as the Nationals designated Victor Robles for assignment to open a roster spot for Thomas.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Resting Sunday
Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Seattle, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Young will get a break after starting the last seven games at center field while going 6-for-23 with three RBI. With Young and Jesse Winker (quadricep) on the bench, Ildemaro Vargas, Victor Robles and Eddie Rosario will form the Washington outfield from left to right.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Nabs 15th steal
Young went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Twins.
The 24-year-old center fielder's ability to flip the lineup over from the bottom of the order was a key part of the Nationals' 12-run eruption Monday. Young has hit safely in five straight games and is up to 15 steals in 17 attempts on the season, but his overall numbers have sagged in May -- he's slashing .208/.304/.271 through 56 plate appearances.

Young had started eight of the last nine contests, including six of them from the leadoff spot. He'll get a breather Friday though, as Victor Robles patrols center field for the Nationals.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Pilfers 14th bag
Young went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the White Sox.
Getting another start in the leadoff spot, Young swiped his 14th bag of the season, tying him for fifth in the majors behind Elly De La Cruz (26), Jose Caballero (17), Brice Turang (16) and Bobby Witt (15). Young only has two successful steals through 12 games in May though, as his issues getting on base consistently are catching up to him -- he's slashing only .167/.295/.222 on the month. The Nationals have been shut out in back-to-back games and sit in the bottom six in runs scored and team OPS on the season, and unless Young heats up at the plate, his time at the top of the order is likely about to end.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Getting Sunday off
Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
Young will take a seat for the series finale after he went 2-for-17 with five walks, one double, one stolen base, three runs and one RBI while starting in each of Washington's last five games. Victor Robles will replace Young in center field while CJ Abrams takes over as Washington's leadoff hitter.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Good to go Sunday
Young (back) will start in center field and bat leadoff Sunday against the Blue Jays, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
The 24-year-old exited Friday's contest due to back spasms and didn't start Saturday, but he'll rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Young has gone just 2-for-10 over his past four games but has a .311/.354/.378 slash line with 12 steals in 81 plate appearances on the season.

Nationals' Jacob Young: Available off bench Saturday
Young (back) is not starting in Saturday's game against the Blue Jays but is available to pinch hit or run, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Young was removed in the fifth inning of Friday's 9-3 win over the Blue Jays due to back spasms, and he was replaced by Jesse Winker. Alex Call will start in center field Saturday and hit eighth against Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman.

Young batted leadoff a few times last month, but this is the first time since April 19 that a player other than CJ Abrams has been at the top of the batting order for the Nationals. Abrams is hitting second Friday. The Nats are facing southpaw Yusei Kikuchi, and the right-handed hitting Young has a .313/.353/.375 slash line versus lefties this season.
