Brennan played the hero Sunday, taking Jhoan Duran deep in the bottom of the ninth inning after the Twins tied the game a half-inning earlier. The homer was Brennan's first since May 1. The outfielder is hitting .254 (15-for-59) in May with four extra-base hits over 18 contests, though that's an improvement from earlier in the campaign. Brennan opened the scoring with a solo shot off Chase Anderson in the second inning, his third homer of the year. Brennan's started to swing the bat well recently -- he's now 6-for-13 with five extra-base hits (including two homers) in his last four games. The left-hitting outfielder has gotten the majority of starts in right field this season with Ramon Laureano occupying the short side of the platoon. Brennan is now slashing .250/.310/.453 through 71 plate appearances with 11 runs scored, 10 RBI and two stolen bases.

Brennan went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.
Brennan teed off on A's starter Ross Stripling, tagging him for a long ball in the second inning and then hitting a double -- and eventually scoring -- in the fourth. The contest marked Brennan's first multi-hit game since Apr. 3 and broke him out of a 2-for-24 (.083) slump that spanned nine games. Brennan came into the game as a pinch hitter for Ramon Laureano once the Athletics took starter JP Sears out. It's an emerging platoon in right field for the Guardians that would see Brennan on the strong side, though he's started just one of three games so far since the Athletics have started a southpaw twice.
