Kirilloff went 4-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Milwaukee. The 26-year-old has hit safely in all five games to begin the season, but Wednesday was his first multi-hit performance. Kirilloff is 8-for-18 (.444) to kick off the campaign with three of those hits (two doubles and a triple) going for extra bases. He slashed a solid .270/.348/.445 over 88 games in 2023 with 11 homers and 41 RBI, and if he can stay healthy, Kirilloff might finally begin to deliver on the talent that made him a first-round pick back in 2016.... Kirilloff (shoulder) is on track for live at-bats in February and hopes to be game-ready when the Twins' spring training schedule begins, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Kirilloff underwent surgery in October to repair the labrum in his right shoulder, but the operation wound up being less invasive than initially expected. He began hitting in January and has been ramping things up of late. Twins' Alex Kirilloff: No tear in shoulder labrum
No labrum tear was discovered during Kirilloff's recent shoulder surgery, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Kirilloff, accordingly, required a less invasive procedure than initially anticipated and seems to have a good shot of being fully recovered by the beginning of spring training next February. The 25-year-old battled right (non-throwing) shoulder issues in the second half of the 2023 regular season and was removed from the Twins' postseason roster before Game 4 of the ALDS because of renewed discomfort. Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Off roster due to shoulder injury
Kirilloff was removed from the Twins' ALDS roster Wednesday because of a right shoulder injury, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Kirilloff missed all of August with a right shoulder strain and the injury seems to have resurfaced in some capacity here in the 2023 postseason. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli declined to get into specifics but noted that the 25-year-old first baseman and corner outfielder was having trouble taking full swings. Kirilloff (undisclosed) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday ahead of ALDS Game 4 against the Astros. Phil Miller@MillerStrib17D agoWith home runs so far today by Carlos Santana and Ryan Jeffers, the Twins have homered in 19 consecutive games (10 of them more than 1 HR) at Rogers Centre, a streak dating back to Aug. 2017. Only a 21-game streak at Kauffman Stadium from 1998-2001 was longer in Twins history.
