Lapierre was assigned to AHL Hershey on Friday, according to PuckPedia.

Lapierre has been on fire recently, racking up four goals and six points over his last six games with the Capitals. The 22-year-old will almost certainly be back up with the big club ahead of Saturday's matchup with Chicago, but he needed to be sent down temporarily in order to be eligible for the AHL playoffs.
