Devils' Brian Pinho: Moves on to New Jersey

He had 17 points in 27 contests with AHL Hershey last year, but didn't appear in an NHL game. The 27-year-old forward will likely fill a similar forward depth role for the Devils, which means he's expected to play at AHL Utica for much of the campaign.... See More ... See Less -

Capitals' Brian Pinho: On taxi squad
Pinho (undisclosed) is practicing and traveling with the team while on the taxi squad, per CapFriendly. Pinho made his NHL debut back in January, but he hasn't taken the ice since then. He'll continue to fine-tune his craft with the big club. The 25-year-old could also be sent to the AHL to log more consistent playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: Still not ready
PInho (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus the Rangers. Pinho will miss a 10th straight game. He's not a lineup fixture even when he's healthy, so there's a possibility he's simply a healthy scratch at this point.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: Remains out Tuesday
Pinho (undisclosed) is not in the lineup Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Tuesday will mark the eighth straight game that Pinho sits out with his undisclosed issue. The 25-year-old rookie will need to wait until at least Thursday against Buffalo to try to earn his first NHL point, though there's a good chance he'll be a healthy scratch even once he's fully healthy.... Capitals' Brian Pinho: Still not ready
Pinho (undisclosed) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Penguins, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official site reports. Pinho has been skating in a regular jersey for nearly a week, but he'll remain out of the lineup for now. He's prone to be a healthy scratch anyway, so it's unclear when he'll dress again.... Capitals' Brian Pinho: Ditches non-contact sweater
Pinho (undisclosed) practiced in a regular jersey Monday, Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports. Even if fully fit, Pinho is far from a lock for the lineup. Capitals' Brian Pinho: Still sidelined Sunday
Pinho (undisclosed) won't suit up in Sunday's game against the Flyers, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Pinho returned to practice Monday while sporting a non-contact jersey, so he still without a definitive timetable for a return. The 25-year-old has averaged 7:49 of ice time and has gone pointless in his two games this season, so his absence won't affect much from a fantasy perspective.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: Sporting non-contact jersey
Pinho (undisclosed) skated in a non-contact jersey after Monday's formal morning skate, Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports. Pinho's return to the ice is an encouraging sign, but the lack of specifics regarding his injury makes forecasting a return rather challenging. The 174th overall pick from the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is a negligible fantasy asset even once he returns to full health given the nature of Washington's depth chart, unless of course Evgeny Kuznetsov (COVID-19 protocols) or Lars Eller (upper body) encounter setbacks in their respective recoveries.... Capitals' Brian Pinho: Dealing with undisclosed injury
Pinho was limited to off-ice work Thursday with an undisclosed injury, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Pinho registered three shots, one hit and a minus-3 rating in his two appearances this season in which he logged 7:49 of ice time per game. Even once fully fit, the 25-year-old center will be hard-pressed to secure regular minutes and figures to be a fringe roster player for the Caps this season.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: No longer on active roster
Pinho has been removed from the Capitals' active roster, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Washington has yet to release any details, but it's safe to assume Pinho has been reassigned to the taxi squad, where he began the season. The 25-year-old pivot has gone scoreless in two appearances with the big club this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: Joins active roster
Pinho was added to the Capitals' active roster from the taxi squad Thursday, per TSN. Evgeny Kuznetsov (COVID-19 protocols) will miss Washington's next four games at a minimum, so Pinho will get a chance to center the Caps' fourth line for the foreseeable future. The 25-year-old American notched 20 goals and 17 assists in 62 AHL contests last campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Brian Pinho: Inks two-year extension

Stan Fischler@StanFischler8D agoThe aim for every team is to make the playoffs; and the @NYIslanders did that with a rush. They lost to the @Canes, a team The Hockey News Yearbook picked to win the Cup. The Isles did their best against a top club. Detroit, Ottawa, NJ, Buffalo missed playoffs. Isles made it.
