John Kuhn: Retires from NFL
Kuhn announced Wednesday that he has officially retired from the NFL as a member of the Packers.
After going undrafted out of Division II Shippensburg in 2005, Kuhn broke into the NFL with Pittsburgh but enjoyed his best years in Green Bay. While serving as an effective lead blocker and occasional short-yardage threat, the fullback earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2014 and was a second-team All-Pro in 2011. After cutting ties with the Packers in 2016, Kuhn tried to keep his career alive in New Orleans, but he hadn't surfaced in the league since finishing the 2017 season on injured reserve with a torn biceps. Kuhn will retire with over 1,300 total yards, 19 rushing touchdowns, nine receiving scores and a pair of Super Bowl rings.

Saints' John Kuhn: Mutual interest to stay in New Orleans
Both the Saints and Kuhn appear to be interested in a reunion for the 2018 season, Herbie Teope of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Kuhn's 2017 campaign came to a close in Week 2 when he tore his biceps, with the 35-year-old subsequently landing on injured reserve shortly thereafter. Although he was designated to return from IR in late December, the Saints never formally activated him to the 53-man roster before the team's season ended with a divisional-round loss to the Vikings. It isn't clear when Kuhn will be back to full health, but the fullback may not have much of a market if he isn't able to reach a new deal with New Orleans.

Saints' John Kuhn: Designated to return from IR
Kuhn (biceps) was designated Wednesday as one of the Saints' two players that can return from injured reserve, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com reports.
Kuhn resumed practicing Wednesday and will be eligible to return to the 53-man roster for the divisional round of the playoffs, if the Saints should advance. Given how well the New Orleans rushing attack has performed with Zach Line at fullback, it's not entirely clear where Kuhn would fit in on offense.

Saints' John Kuhn: Goes under knife
Kuhn (biceps) underwent surgery Tuesday, Herbie Teope of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Kuhn's surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Florida, and it will effectively keep him sidelined for the rest of the season. The 35-year-old just signed on with the Saints, so whether he stays with them for another season may be an offseason decision.

Saints' John Kuhn: Planted on IR
Kuhn (biceps) was placed on injured reserve, Adam Kaplan of ESPN reports.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Kuhn tore his biceps while practicing in London and will require surgery, effectively ending his season. Unless they bring in someone else on short notice, the Saints won't have a fullback available for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins.

Saints' John Kuhn: Officially re-signs with Saints
Kuhn re-signed with the Saints on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Despite not being on the active roster, Kuhn was present for the Saints' Week 3 victory over the Panthers and then traveled with the team to London in advance of a Week 4 matchup with the Dolphins. Thus, Monday's signing was totally anticipated. However, as nothing more than fourth in line for carries behind Mark Ingram, Adrian Peterson and Alvin Kamara, Kuhn's value remains minimal.

Kuhn is expected to re-sign with the Saints this week, Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune reports.
Kuhn is aboard a flight to London as the Saints travel overseas for Week 4's matchup against the Dolphins, so it's clear they plan to have the fullback on the roster once again. He'll primarily serve as a blocker but could vulture goal-line carries under certain circumstances.

John Kuhn: Let go by New Orleans
Kuhn was released Thursday by the Saints, Herbie Teope of The Times-Picayune reports.
Kuhn re-signed with the Saints on Sept. 6, but he will now be released for the second time this season so that the team can bring in defensive lineman Kendall Langford. Teope reports that Kuhn may soon have an opportunity to return to the organization yet again.

Kuhn re-signed with the Saints on Wednesday, Joel A. Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
The Saints previously released Kuhn on Sunday in a procedural move that allowed the team to make multiple waiver claims, but it was expected all along that the fullback would ultimately be brought back. It took just three days for Kuhn to officially become a Saint again, and despite dealing with a minor calf injury at the close of the exhibition schedule, he's on track to take the field Week 1. Kuhn has plenty of experience in short-yardage situations, though New Orleans has too crowded a backfield for him to become relevant in most formats.

Kuhn (calf) was released by the Saints on Sunday, John Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Kuhn is currently dealing with a minor calf injury, and despite being expected to take the field for Week 1, he was cut to make room for a pair of waiver claims made by the Saints this weekend. Kuhn has established himself as one of the most reliable fullbacks in the NFL, so he should be a high priority for any team with a need at the position. The Saints may re-sign him once they have figured out the rest of their roster.

Despite suffering from a slight calf injury, Kuhn is expected to take the field Week 1 against the Vikings, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.
Given Kuhn's role with the club, his absence wouldn't leave owners looking for alternatives at the running back position. However, his exclusion from Week 1 would leave the likes of Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson without their lead blocker. He's expected to play, so those concerned should monitor his status further as the contest approaches.
