Titans' Brian Orakpo: Retiring from football
Orakpo (elbow) announced his retirement Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Orakpo missed the final three weeks of the 2018 campaign, finishing with 28 tackles and 1.5 sacks across 13 appearances in his age-32 season. The 13th overall pick from the 2009 draft retires with 66 sacks in 132 games, having spent six seasons in Washington and four in Tennessee. The Titans prepared for this decision when they selected fellow pass rusher Harold Landry at No. 41 overall in the 2018 draft. Landry only had 4.5 sacks as a rookie, but he did at least finish on a high note with two in his final two games.

Titans' Brian Orakpo: Won't play Week 17
Orakpo (elbow) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Orakpo will miss his thrid straight game with the elbow injury and will need to hope the Titans beat the Colts to make the playoffs if he has a chance of retaking the field this season. Kamalei Correa should see a bump in snaps at outside linebacker in his continued absence.

Orakpo (elbow) did not practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
The Titans would certainly like for Orakpo to practice before Sunday's game, but the veteran still has a chance to play in Week 17's winner-take-all even if he can't work his way back onto the practice field this week. Tennessee will likely keep a close eye on Orakpo and make a decision closer to game-time. If he can't play, look for Kamalei Correa to take over at his spot.

Orakpo (elbow) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Orakpo suffered the elbow injury in last Thursday's win over the Jaguars and was unable to practice this week. The 32-year-old will miss his first game of the season, giving Kamalei Correa, Harold Landry and Sharif Finch a chance for snaps at outside linebacker.

Orakpo (elbow) did not practice Wednesday, John Glennon of The Athletic reports.
Orakpo's absence doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of him playing in Sunday's game, but it does raise some concerns. How the veteran holds up during Thursday's session could provide a better indication as to where he stands. If he can't suit up, Kamalei Correa and Harold Landry would be the likely replacements.

Orakpo sustained an elbow injury during Thursday's 30-9 win over the Jaguars, Erik Bacharach of the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Orakpo exited Sunday's contest due to an elbow injury and did not return to the field. The extent of the veteran linebacker's injury remains undisclosed, so his participation will be worth monitoring when the Titans resume practicing.

Orakpo skipped out on Saturday's practice due to a shoulder injury, but as coach Mike Vrabel already suggested, it doesn't look like the ailment is very serious. The Titans likely are being extra cautious with the veteran linebacker, and the expectation is that Orakpo will be ready to return next week.

Orakpo did not participate in practice Saturday and coach Mike Vrabel indicated afterward that an injured shoulder was the culprit, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. However, Vrabel also suggested the issue isn't believed to be serious.
The Titans have little incentive to rush the veteran linebacker's return from the issue, so it's possible he misses a few sessions even if he's feeling fine just as a precautionary measure. It's best to consider Orakpo day-to-day given the comments made by his coach.

Titans' Brian Orakpo: Gets 1.5 sacks in playoff win
Orakpo contributed 1.5 sacks and two tackles (one solo) during Saturday's 22-21 win over Kansas City in the wild-card round.
Orakpo picked a good time to tie his season high in sacks. The 31-year-old pass rusher still has plenty of gas left in the tank, as his 7.0 sacks in the regular season represented his third consecutive campaign with at least that many since joining the Titans.

Orakpo now has at least one sack in three of the past four contests. His 61 defensive snaps were also his second-highest total on the season, as it appears he is fully recovered from a minor leg injury he sustained a couple of week ago.

Orakpo sustained a minor leg injury in Thursday's 40-17 loss to the Steelers, freelance sports writer John Glennon reports.
Orakpo played 53 of 76 defensive snaps and notched two solo tackles, but head coach Mike Mularkey indicated the injury wasn't serious. The 31-year-old will have also some extra recovery time before the Week 12 matchup with the Colts due to the Thursday night game this week.
