Patriots' Ramon Humber: Signs with New England
Humber agreed to a contract with the Patriots on Wednesday, Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald reports.
Humber had previously spent time with the Patriots during the 2016 offseason before being cut at the conclusion of the preseason. Since then, the 31-year-old has appeared in 38 games for the Bills, which included 10 starts in 2017. He had been used primarily as a special teams player with Buffalo this season before being released earlier this month and will likely serve in a similar capacity for New England as long as he remains with the club.

Ramon Humber: Let go by Buffalo
Humber was released by the Bills on Saturday, The Buffalo News reports.
Humber started some games in 2017, but second-year man Matt Milano has passed by him on the depth chart and has evolved his game enough that he's now a clear three-down starter. With the 2-7 Bills looking toward the longer term, they'll swap out a journeyman like Humber so some younger players can get a look on both sides of the ball the rest of the way.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Re-signs with Bills
The Bills re-signed Humber to a one-year deal on Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Humber has spent the past two seasons in Buffalo, contributing on defense and special teams. Last season the veteran recorded nine starts, the most in a single season so far in his career, but eventually lost his starting role to rookie Matt Milano. Still, Humber managed to record a career-high 89 tackles (60 solo) to go along with one sack, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. Look for him to once again compete for a starting role during training camp, though for now Milano is the guy.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Loses starting spot
Humber, who failed to log a tackle while playing 20 defensive snaps Sunday, has lost his starting outside linebacker spot to rookie Matt Milano, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Humber has had three double-digit tackle games this season, but he missed three games due to minor thumb surgery and hasn't been the same player since returning. Milano, meanwhile, has far outperformed his fifth-round status, so the Bills will keep ceding more time to the younger player.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Still not 100 percent
Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier says Humber continues to be bothered by a thumb injury suffered in Week 4 against Atlanta and caused him to miss three games, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. "Ramon, you can see that hand is still affecting him a little bit," Frazier said. "He should be better going into the next ballgame because he would have had an entire week of practice under his belt again. He should be a little bit better. But we'll take a look at Matt as well. Matt was very productive for us when he was on the field in the lineup. We'll take a look at it over the course of the week and see what's best."
Humber, who did have 10 tackles in Sunday's bludgeoning at the hands of the Saints, has struggled the past two games while frequently missing tackles. Rookie Matt Milano performed well when Humber was out, so Frazier could start to mix Milano back in a little more until Humber proves as sturdy as he was prior to the injury.

Although he turned in limited practices early in the week, Humber will give it a go Thursday. He has been recovering from minor thumb surgery for the past month, but will return against the Jets. The veteran linebacker will presumably return to his starting role barring any setbacks.

Humber (thumb) is listed as questionable for the Bills' Week 9 matchup Thursday with the Jets.
After turning in limited practices Monday and Tuesday, Humber was upgraded to a full participant in Wednesday's session, which likely wasn't an overly strenuous one with the Bills' game one day away. With a month off to recover from a minor thumb surgery, Humber looks as though he's made significant strides on the health front, but it's uncertain if it will be enough for him to receive clearance to play Thursday. Head coach Sean McDermott has previously said that a healthy Humber would take back his starting role at outside linebacker from Matt Milano, who has generally played well as a replacement.

The Bills actually had a walkthrough and not a real practice, but Humber's listing would have been limited had this been a normal session. Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Humber suffered a fractured thumb in the Week 4 win over the Falcons and will require surgery, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.
Humber is considered out indefinitely, but a more definitive timetable for his return could be fleshed out once the procedure is completed. With 37 tackles through the Bills' first four games, Humber had popped up on the IDP radar before succumbing to the injury.

Humber is believed to have suffered a fractured hand in Sunday's win over the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Assuming Rapoport's report is confirmed by the Bills, Humber would likely require surgery on the hand, which would almost certainly result in him missing time. However, it wouldn't necessarily spell an end to Humber's season, as the linebacker could choose to wear a club on the injured hand and play with it. Bills' Ramon Humber: Big season opener
Humber posted 13 total tackles in Sunday's win over the Jets, leading the team.
We knew Humber was going to be a starter, but this eye-popping total -- one that bested fellow starters Preston Brown and Lorenzo Alexander combined -- far exceeded any expectations. It's also worth noting Humber only missed one of 58 defensive snaps. We still like the other two players as better IDPs, but Zach Brown came out of nowhere in the Bills' defense last season (so did Alexander, for that matter), so perhaps Humber is a target to do the same. We'll see if this becomes a trend over Humber's next few games.
