  • Daniel Ochefu: Moves on to Spain

Ochefu signed a contract Tuesday with CB Breogan of the Spanish League.

With Ochefu's G League club, the Stockton Kings, having recently wrapped up its season, the 25-year-old will head overseas for additional work. The big man will presumably be a free agent again this summer but is unlikely to secure more than a training-camp invite from an NBA team if he returns to North America.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Posts large double-double

Ochefu (illness) scored 26 points (9-17 FG, 8-9 FT) to go along with 17 rebounds, three assists and a steal in the win over Northern Arizona on Saturday.

Ochefu certainly didn't seem to be hindered much by an illness that kept him out earlier in the week. Northern Arizona has struggled to stop the center position for most of the season so Ochefu's eye-popping stat line shouldn't be so surprising. Still, if he can keep up this scoring load in the remaining games, there's a chance Ochefu could be considered one of the best G League centers by season's end.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Out with illness

Ochefu was held out of Monday's game against Sioux Falls due to illness.

Ochefu shouldn't be forced to miss extended time due to the issue, so expect him to get back on the court within the next few contests. He's putting up 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks over 27 games this season with Stockton, so he'll be sorely missed until he's cleared to return.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Solid showing in win

Ochefu (knee) tallied 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-5 FT), 16 rebounds, three assists and a steal in Stockton's 101-99 win over Lakeland on Sunday.

Ochefu was a monster on the glass, picking up eight offensive rebounds and generally winning the battle in the paint. While Stockton saw fit to get other bench bigs playing time, Ochefu made the most of his opportunities, scoring well above his average of 9.3 points per game on putbacks along with and-1 shots near the rim. It was a bit surprising to see Ochefu inserted into the starting lineup, particularly after missing time to a knee injury, but given Sunday's performance you can assume Stockton will want another look at their big in the near future.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Out Tuesday

Ochefu (knee) did not play in Tuesday's loss to Northern Arizona.

That's now six games Ochefu has missed this season, with the majority coming during the month of January. The big man saw a rise in counting stats during the aforementioned mention, boosting his season average to 23.5 minutes, 13.3 points and 8.9 rebounds a night.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Returns to court Monday

Ochefu (undisclosed) scored 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, two steals and one assist during the loss Monday to the Mad Ants.

Ochefu missed the previous three games with an undisclosed ailment but was able to return to the court Monday, playing 23 minutes. The 26-year-old is regarded as the starting center for Stockton, but it's a generous term given he has only averaged 23.1 minutes across 18 games this season.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Registers double-double

Ochefu scored 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-4 FT) and totaled 12 rebounds along with a block Friday against the Wisconsin Herd.

Ochefu was efficient down low, hitting on 63.6 percent of his shots from the field in a 132-125 victory in 26 minutes of court time. The big man is nearly averaging a double-double in the G League this season, tallying 12.5 points along with 8.7 boards over 16 contests. Ochefu will look to keep it rolling with the hope of seeing some NBA action in the near future.

  • Knicks' Daniel Ochefu: Stellar shooting night in SL win

Ochefu mustered 22 points (9-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 26 minutes during the Knicks' 102-83 win over the Pelicans in a Las Vegas Summer League contest Friday.

Ochefu saw extended run in the consolation game, pacing the team in scoring despite coming off the bench. The Villanova product's only NBA regular-season experience came during the 2016-17 campaign with the Wizards, and prior to Friday, he'd averaged just 10.0 minutes per game in summer league play.

  • Knicks' Daniel Ochefu: Joins Knicks

Ochefu will play at summer league with the Knicks, Chris Iseman of The Bergen Record reports.

Ochefu was able to play in 19 games for the Wizards during the 2016-17 season and has since been playing in the G League, averaging 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over 32 games last season.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Shipped to Reno

Ochefu was traded from Windy City to Reno in a three-team deal Monday.

Ochefu spent 19 games with the Wizards during the 2016-17 campaign, but has since found himself in the G-League attempting to restore his value. Prior to being dealt to Reno on Monday, Ochefu had played 24 games for Windy City, posting averages of 8.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks across 19.3 minutes. He'll hope to have an even bigger impact following the change in scenery, though it's unclear if Ochefu will ultimately receive call-up interest from NBA teams as the second half of the season progresses.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Waived by Celtics

Ochefu was waived by the Celtics on Saturday, Steve Bullpett of the Boston Herald reports.

Ochefu was released by the Wizards early last week, which allowed the Celtics to eventually sign the 6-foot-11 center. However, the reasoning for the signing was to obtain his G-League rights, so Ochefu is now expected to join the team's affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, for the start of the upcoming campaign. Ochefu could eventually get a look during the season if injuries occur to the Celtics' current roster.

  • Celtics' Daniel Ochefu: Signs with Celtics

Ochefu signed with the Celtics on Friday, Brian Robb of the Boston Sports Journal reports.

Ochefu was recently released by the Wizards as part of their final roster cuts, but the expectation is that center will be cut once again so the Celtics can hold his G-League rights. Ochefu appeared in just 19 games for the Wizards last season, averaging just 3.9 minutes per game.

  • Daniel Ochefu: Released by Wizards

Ochefu was waived by the Wizards on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Ochefu surprisingly made the Wizards' roster a season ago as an undrafted free agent out of Villanova, but failed to make much of an impact and averaged just 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds across 3.9 minutes in 19 games. He apparently didn't show enough improvement this summer and the Wizards will now go a different direction for one of the final spots on the regular-season roster. Ochefu will likely have to settle for a spot in the G-League or overseas, as he's unlikely to field much interest elsewhere in the NBA.

  • Wizards' Daniel Ochefu: Doesn't play in Saturday's win

Ochefu (coach's decision) failed to see the floor in a 125-124 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Now that Ian Mahinmi is healthy again, Ochefu's already-marginal role has become even more limited than it previously had been. He's made just two appearances since the beginning of February, logging three total minutes.

  • Wizards' Daniel Ochefu: Inactive Monday

Ochefu (coach's decision) was inactive for Monday's 120-98 win over the Thunder.

With the Wizards recently getting Ian Mahinmi back from a long-term absence due to soreness in both of his knees, Ochefu has become a fixture on the inactive list along with fellow undrafted rookie Danuel House (wrist). Ochefu wasn't seeing regular run even when Mahinmi was healthy, so it might not be long before the Wizards send Ochefu to the D-League in order to pick up extended minutes.

  • Wizards' Daniel Ochefu: Logs three minutes in blowout win

Ochefu played three minutes in a 120-101 win over the Trail Blazers on Monday, recording no points (0-1 FG), three rebounds and one steal.

The Wizards held a commanding lead heading into the fourth quarter, allowing coach Scott Brooks to give his deep reserves some playing time. Ochefu has appeared in only 10 of the Wizards' 40 games this season and is averaging just 1.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 4.2 minutes per contest.

  • Wizards' Daniel Ochefu: Will be available Friday vs. Nets

Ochefu (illness) will be available Friday against the Nets, J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Ochefu completed the Wizards' morning shootaround without incident, so he'll be good to go after a one-game absence due to the illness. Though Ochefu will be active, it's more likely than not that he'll fail to see the court, as he's only made seven appearances on the season while averaging 4.9 minutes per game.

  • Wizards' Daniel Ochefu: Sits out of practice Thursday

Ochefu (illness) was held out of Thursday's practice, J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Ochefu missed Wednesday's game against the Pacers due to an illness, so it appears he's still dealing with some lingering symptoms. The Wizards will play the Nets on Friday and Ochefu can tentatively be considered questionable for that outing, although he's unlikely to get any minutes in a competitive environment. Ochefu has averaged just 4.9 minutes over seven games played this season.

The reserve center will be unavailable Wednesday, with his next opportunity to play coming Friday against the Nets. Ochefu has not been a part of the regular rotation, though he did play a season-high 11 minutes in Friday's blowout loss in Milwaukee.
