Quarterman's returning player rights were bound to Agua Caliente, but the Clippers opted against claiming him, making him available via waivers. Sioux Falls opted to pounce on the opportunity and will add a guard who averaged 8.9 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game with Agua Caliente back in 2017-18.

Quarterman posted 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists, a rebound and a steal across 16 minutes in Saturday's 91-89 Vegas Summer League second-round playoff loss to the Sixers.
While Quarterman has played in all five Vegas Summer League games, his results have been meager, averaging 5.5 points per game and 18.6 minutes on the floor. After stints with the Trail Blazers and the Rockets, he's attempting to find a home with a third NBA team. Right now, his prospects don't seem too promising.

Quarterman will sign a 10-day contract with the Rockets, Marc Stein of the New York Times reports.
Quarterman's last NBA action was back during the 2016-17 campaign, when he logged 16 appearances as a reserve for the Trail Blazers. He's since bounced around internationally and most recently was playing with the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association. He'll now get another shot to return to the NBA, likely operating as a deep reserve in the backcourt for the Rockets after signing a 10-day deal. However, the fact that Quarterman is joining one of the best teams in the league doesn't bode well for his chances of seeing significant minutes, if any at all.

Tim Quarterman: Signs with Chinese club
Quarterman agreed to a one-month contract with the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association on Tuesday, freelance reporter David Pick reports.
Quarterman, who appeared in 16 games with the Trail Blazers as a rookie last season, failed to win a roster spot with the Rockets in training camp this fall and was released in October. He'll attempt to stir up NBA interest by playing abroad in the CBA while Jiangsu is without the services of fellow American MarShon Brooks, who returned to the United States to witness the birth of his child.

Clippers' Tim Quarterman: Moved to Clippers
Quarterman, after being traded from the Trail Blazers to the Rockets hours prior, was dealt by the Rockets to the Clippers as part of the Chris Paul trade, David Aldridge of Turner Sports reports.
Quarterman was essentially brought in by Houston to be used as part of the deal that sent Chris Paul to the Rockets. It remains to be seen whether or not the Clippers intend to keep Quarterman considering his extremely limited NBA experience and subpar D-League numbers.

Rockets' Tim Quarterman: Traded to Rockets
Quarterman was traded from the Trail Blazers to the Rockets on Wednesday in exchange for cash, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
Quarterman spent most of the 2016-17 season bouncing back and forth between the D-League and the NBA, playing just 80 total minutes for Portland across 16 games, racking up 31 points, 14 boards and 11 assists. In the D-League, he averaged 11.2 points, 7.1 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 36.4 percent from the field across 30.8 minutes per game. While he's not exactly a high-level prospect, the Rockets are likely looking for as much backcourt support as they can get after trading away Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams in exchange for Chris Paul. As of now, his fantasy outlook still looks meager at best.

Quarterman was questionable in advance of Game 1 with a concussion, but he was ultimately active for the contest, though he didn't see the court in a coach's decision. While those are respectable numbers, he will likely continue to be at the bottom of the barrel for point guard options on the Trail Blazers. He's seen 13 NBA games this season, averaging just 1.5 points across 3.4 minutes per game in those appearances.

Quarterman was assigned Tuesday to the D-League's Long Island Nets.
Quarterman has taken part in just 13 games for the Trail Blazers this season, as he's no higher than the team's fourth option at either point guard or shooting guard. With Long Island starting up their post All-Star break schedule on Wednesday against the Grand Rapids Drive, Quarterman will join the team to get extended playing time, which should provide some much-needed game reps. He could be recalled to the Trail Blazers ahead of Thursday's game with the Magic, but he won't see the court if the game remains competitive.
