Georgios Papagiannis: Waived by Trail Blazers
Papagiannis has been waived by the Trail Blazers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reports.
Shortly after winning the Summer League championship, the Trail Blazers decided to cut ties with the former first-round selection. Selected with the 13th overall by the Kings in the 2016 NBA Draft, Papagiannis failed to see major minutes during his run in Sacramento and only took the court once after signing with the Trail Blazers back in early March. The 21-year-old is now planning to sign a deal in Greece.

Papagiannis recorded two points (1-1 FG), two steals and one rebound in four minutes of action during Thursday's 96-94 loss to the Rockets.
Papagiannis' two points Thursday were his first points scored since recording a bucket on Jan. 30. The Greece native is averaging 2.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in 7.2 minutes per game during his second NBA season.

Papagiannis has yet to see the court with the Trail Blazers since signing a 10-day contract at the start of March, but he's clearly impressed enough during practices to warrant him being signed for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign. Papagiannis will sign a 10-day contract with the Trail Blazers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Papagiannis was waived by the Kings at the trade deadline and has since been looking for work elsewhere in the NBA. He'll now get an opportunity to play for the Trail Blazers, likely operating as a deep reserve behind the likes of Jusuf Nurkic, Ed Davis and Zach Collins at center. Papagiannis should struggle to see the floor in competitive games with the Trail Blazers, so fantasy owners can continue to avoid him for the time being. In 16 games with the Kings, Papagiannis averaged just 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds across 7.4 minutes.

Papagiannis was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, so the Kings clearly weren't thrilled with his progress considering his rapid release. He'll be subject to waivers and if he goes unclaimed, Papagiannis will then become an unristricted free agent. The fact that he was such a high draft pick could bring about numerous potential suitors. However, if he fails to find a new team, Papagiannis will likely either head to the G-League or test his luck overseas.

Kings' Georgios Papagiannis: Dishes four assists in Tuesday's win
Papagiannis provided two points (1-2 FG), four assists, two rebounds, and one block in 11 minutes during Tuesday's 114-103 win over the Pelicans.
Papagiannis matched his career high in assists and filled in well off the bench with Willie Cauley-Stein (knee) and Skal Labissiere (shoulder) sidelined. With Cauley-Stein set to miss at least one more game, the 20-year-old sophomore might make his 16th appearance of 2017-18 on Friday against the Warriors, this after playing in 22 games in 2016-17.

Papagiannis (illness) suited up Thursday for the G League's Reno Bighorns in their 118-113 win over the Maine Red Claws, finishing with 12 points (6-13 FG, 0-1 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes.
Papagiannis fell ill earlier in the week and was unavailable for the Kings' loss Tuesday to the Lakers, but he recovered in time to play for Sacramento's G League affiliate two days later. It's expected that the center will be called up to the NBA squad in the near future, but he's unlikely to be a regular fixture in head coach Dave Joerger's rotation.
