Brown has been waived by the Raptors on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Starting Thursday

Brown will start at point guard for Thursday's preseason finale against the Pelicans, Ryan Wolstat of the Tronot Sun reports.

The Raptors are resting nearly all of their starters and regular contributors, so Brown will get the call to jump into the top unit and should see a fairly hefty workload as well. Joining Brown in the starting five will be Jordan Loyd, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam and Greg Monroe.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Remains with Toronto

Brown is finalizing a one-year contract with the Raptors on Tuesday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.

Brown had his two-way contract upgraded to a regular contract in April and saw action in 14 games for the Raptors, averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in just under 10 minutes per game. The 27-year-old earned G-League MVP honors for the Raptors affiliate in 2018 -- 18.8 points, 8.9 assists and 5.2 rebounds on 33.2 minutes per game -- but is unlikely to start the season in the regular rotation.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Upgraded to regular contract

Brown was upgraded to a regular contract for the rest of the season, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Brown has played on a two-way contract with the Raptors for the entire season thus far, though he's seen action in a total of just 14 games at the NBA level. In the G-League, however, the 6-foot-5 guard has been dominating, earning him G-League MVP honors. Across 32 games with the Raptors' affiliate, he's averaged 18.8 points, 8.9 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals over 33.2 minutes. Now that Brown has been upgraded to a regular contract, he'll be eligible to remain with the Raptors during the playoffs, though he's still not expected to crack the regular rotation.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Still dealing with ankle injury

Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's G-League matchup with the Herd.

Brown has yet to shake an ankle injury that's lingered for roughly two weeks now. That said, a timetable hasn't been provided, so he'll continue to be evaluated on a game-to-game basis. Brown's next shot to return will be Wednesday against Long Island if he isn't recalled to the big club.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Will remain out Wednesday

Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bayhawks.

Despite having the G-League All-Star break off for additional rest and rehabilitation, Brown's ankle is still giving him enough discomfort to remain sidelined for Wednesday's contest. • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Inactive for G-League contest Tuesday

Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's G-League matchup with Windy City.

Brown was forced to leave Monday's game early with a sprained ankle and is still dealing with enough discomfort to hold him out Tuesday. With the All-Star break starting at the end of this week, Brown should now have over a week to attempt to get back to full strength. Once healthy, Brown should continue to get extended run in the G-League considering he's still buried on the Raptors depth chart.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Suffers ankle injury Monday

Brown suffered an ankle injury in the first half of Monday's G-League matchup with the Red Claws and will not return.

Brown played just four minutes prior to the injury, posting four points (2-2 FG) and two steals. He'll likely be reevaluated following the game in order to determine if he could miss more time. Brown, who's currently signed to a two-way contract with the Raptors, has averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 2.0 steals across 34 minutes in 27 games in the G-League. Even when he's healthy and recalled to the big club, Brown can be avoided for fantasy purposes.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Assist machine

Brown recorded 25 points (10-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 15 assists, six steals and two rebounds during Tuesday's loss at Long Island.

The former North Carolina State guard had a tremendous game, tying a season high in assists and reaching the 25-point mark. It's impressive what Brown is doing this season. He is currently second in assists in the G-League with 9.5 per contest, and, in addition, he also averages a superb 18.9 points as well. The 27-year-old figures to be able to reach his assist average consistently as he has had more than eight assists in each of his last 12 games.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Plays six minutes in loss to Heat

Brown logged six minutes off the bench in Tuesday's loss to Miami, finishing with zero points (0-0 FG, 0-0 FT) and one assist.

Brown shouldn't be on any fantasy radars, but it's nonetheless worth noting that he made his first NBA appearance in nearly a month, as the Raptors needed a bit more point guard depth in the absence of Kyle Lowry. If Lowry ultimately misses a few more games, Brown could see some minutes in garbage time, but considering he has Fred VanVleet and Delon Wright ahead of him on the depth chart, he's unlikely to make his way into the regular rotation this season.

  • Raptors' Lorenzo Brown: Sent to G League

Brown was assigned to the G League's Raptors 905 on Monday.

Brown, who signed a two-way contract with the Raptors in the summer, had been a fixture for the G League squad all season before making his first two appearances with Toronto last week. He logged a combined 26 minutes in games against the Knicks and Wizards, tallying no points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in those contests. Since Delon Wright (shoulder) is out indefinitely, Brown, who will play for the G League squad in Monday's game against the Greensboro Swarm, could rejoin the Raptors in short order to act as the third-string point guard behind Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet.

  • Pistons' Lorenzo Brown: Signs with Detroit

Brown will sign a contract Monday with the Pistons, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Brown, who spent summer league and training camp with the Pistons, hasn't appeared in an NBA game this season, instead splitting the year between the Chinese Basketball Association and the D-League. With only two games remaining, the Pistons are just bringing in Brown to provide some more depth at point guard since backup Beno Udrih (knee), who will be waived in a corresponding move, was unlikely to be available for those contests. Brown should also have an opportunity to stake his claim to a roster spot during training camp next fall.

  • Lorenzo Brown: Won't sign with Detroit

Updating a previous report, Brown won't be eligible to sign with the Pistons after the NBA's transaction deadline passed Sunday, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

Charania reported earlier Monday that Brown would join the Pistons after the team waived veteran guard Beno Udrih (knee), but both moves have since been voided. Udrih will thus stick with the Pistons for the final two games of the regular season, but he's not expected to be available due to the knee injury. The Pistons have a prior history with Brown after the point guard joined the team for training camp last fall, and another reunion could end up materializing over the offseason.
