Julyan Stone: Heads overseas
Stone agreed to a contract Saturday with Reyer Venezia of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A, Sportando.com reports.
Stone didn't take long to find work after being released by the Bulls earlier this month. After a three-year hiatus from the NBA, the 29-year-old guard returned to the league in 2017-18, suiting up in 23 games for the Hornets and averaging 0.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 7.6 minutes per contest. He'll be in store for a larger role -- and likely more financial security -- in Italy, where he previously won a league title with Venezia in 2016-17.

Julyan Stone: Let go by Chicago
Stone was waived by the Bulls on Saturday, Chuck Swirsky of the Bulls Radio Network reports.
This move was to simply make room for the Jabari Parker contract, who is owed $20 million this season. Stone has bounced around the league since debuting in 2011-12 and may have trouble securing a roster spot in his age 29 season.

Bulls' Julyan Stone: Will be dealt to Chicago
Stone will be dealt to Chicago in a three-team deal that also sees Timofey Mozgov going to Orlando, Bismack Biyombo heading to Charlotte and Jerian Grant moving to Orlando, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
With the Bulls organization seemingly committed to Kris Dunn and Cameron Payne as its point guard options, there was little reason to keep Grant around. So, Chicago sent him to Orlando -- a team that needs a point guard -- while receiving another prospect in Stone in return. However, it seems unlikely Stone, who played 175 minutes last season, will see much more run on his new team.

Hornets' Julyan Stone: Non-factor all season
Stone played in 23 games with the Hornets in 2017-18 and averaged 7.6 minutes and 1.3 rebounds per game.
Stone was really a factor in just one game all season long, as he scored six points and added six assists and four rebounds at Indiana during the final regular season game. The UTEP product is signed with the Hornets for next season at minimum salary.

Stone was recalled from the G-League's Greensboro Swarm on Sunday.
Stone will make his way back to the highest level after being sent down to the G-League last week. The 29-year-old has appeared in four games for the Hornets this season, averaging 1.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 6.3 minutes per game. His stay in the NBA will likely be short-lived.

The Hornets assigned Stone to the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Tuesday, Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Stone will presumably return to the NBA team ahead of Wednesday's game against the Celtics after suiting up for the G League squad Tuesday against the Wisconsin Herd. The reserve guard hasn't seen regular run in the Charlotte rotation this season, logging a grand total of seven minutes in 13 December contests.

Unless he endures a setback with his strained left hamstring during morning shootaround, Stone looks like he'll be ready to suit up Wednesday for the first time since suffering the injury Oct. 20. Though he won't see many minutes off the bench for the Hornets when the team is at full strength, Stone could be called upon for extensive run with the second unit right away Wednesday with starting point guard Kemba Walker (shoulder) listed as doubtful for the contest.

Hornets' Julyan Stone: Out 4-to-6 weeks with hamstring strain
Stone was diagnosed Monday with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks.
Stone sustained the injury during Sunday's practice and didn't make the trip with the Hornets to Milwaukee in advance of Monday's game against the Bucks. Prior to winning a roster spot with the Hornets in training camp, the 28-year-old last appeared in the NBA during the 2013-14 campaign, but due to the team's extensive backcourt injuries, he was able to log 19 total minutes in Charlotte's first two contests. With Stone and Michael Carter-Williams (knee) on the shelf for the foreseeable future, rookies Malik Monk and Marcus Paige are now the only healthy point guards on the roster behind starter Kemba Walker.

Stone practiced in full Tuesday and was seen at shootaround Wednesday morning, so all signs are pointing to him suiting up against the Pistons. Stone isn't expected to see strong rotational minutes throughout most of the year. But, with starters Nicolas Batum (elbow) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (personal) out Wednesday, Stone may be in line for significant run. It's risky, but he could make for a DFS flier.
