Evan Turner: Transitioning into coaching
Turner is expected to finalize a contract Monday to join the Celtics as an assistant coach, signaling the end of his playing career, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Turner played under Celtics head coach Brad Stevens during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, and that relationship likely played a major part in the 32-year-old's decision to begin his coaching career in Boston. According to Charania, Turner is expected to mostly focus on player development as part of his role with the Boston staff. Assuming Turner doesn't revisit a comeback down the road, he'll conclude his 10-year NBA career with averages of 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 26.9 minutes per game across 705 regular-season games between the 76ers, Pacers, Celtics, Trail Blazers and Hawks.

Timberwolves' Evan Turner: Unlikely to join team
Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders admitted Sunday that the prospect of Turner reporting to the team at some point hasn't been discussed, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
After Turner was acquired from the Hawks on Feb. 4, the Timberwolves were expected to work toward a buyout agreement with the veteran wing, who is in the final season of a four-year, $70 million contract. Turner was allowed to meet with prospective suitors while Minnesota discussed the buyout with his representatives, but the 31-year-old ultimately wasn't able to find a new home before the March 1 deadline for players to sign with other teams and retain postseason eligibility. With Turner's window for joining a contending club likely having closed, his season may be over, too. The rebuilding Timberwolves don't have any plans to include Turner in their rotation, so he'll presumably remain away from the team for the final month and a half of the season before becoming a free agent this summer.

Turner remains away from the Timberwolves ahead of Monday's game against the Mavericks.
After being acquired from the Hawks on Feb. 4, Turner has yet to report to the Timberwolves while he attempts to work out a buyout with the organization. The veteran has been allowed to meet with other teams as he looks to land with a playoff contender, but there has been little news over the past week to suggest that he's close to moving on elsewhere. If it becomes apparent that a buyout isn't in the cards for Turner, don't expect him to see any action for Minnesota, as the rebuilding squad simply has no incentive to find playing time for him.

Turner (not injury related) will work out for the Clippers on Saturday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Turner has received permission from the Timberwolves to work out with the Clippers as the sides continue to discuss a buyout. Regardless of where Turner ends up, it seems unlikely he'll have fantasy value for the remainder of the season.

Turner and the Timberwolves are discussing a buyout, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.
The Timberwolves are going young and Turner would like to play for a contender, so parting ways makes sense for both parties. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it seems unlikely Turner will play Saturday against the Clippers considering he didn't even attend the Wolves' press conference Friday to introduce new players.

Timberwolves' Evan Turner: Traded to Timberwolves
Turner is being trading to the Timberwolves as part of a four-team deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reports.
Turner will head to Minnesota along with Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, and Jarred Vanderbilt in a blockbluster deal. Robert Covington and Jordan Bell will head to Houston, Clint Capela and Nene to Atlanta, and Gerald Green, Noah Vonleh, Keita Bates-Diop and Shabazz Napier to Denver. Turner was only averaging 13 minutes a contest in Atlanta, playing in one game since the new year. A change of scenery could spark a new role for the veteran in the second half of the season.
