Webb earned the save Tuesday against the Yankees, striking out three in 1.1 perfect innings. Webb struck out Aaron Judge for the final out in the eighth inning before setting the Yankees down in order in the ninth, earning his first save this season. While the 30-year-old Webb was impressive against the heart of New York's batting order, he isn't likely to see many save chances going forward in Baltimore -- Craig Kimbrel (back) and Yennier Cano were both likely unavailable Tuesday. Webb sports a 2.03 ERA on the season with a 0.90 WHIP and 15:3 K:BB across 13.1 innings.... See More ... See Less

Orioles' Jacob Webb: Takes loss Friday
Webb (0-1) allowed an unearned run on one hit and struck out one without walking a batter over one inning to take the extra-inning loss Friday versus the Athletics. Webb allowed the ghost runner to score on a Brent Rooker double in the top of the 10th inning, and the Orioles were unable to come back from that. After opening the campaign with a 6.1-inning scoreless streak, Webb has been charged with four runs (three earned) over his last 5.1 innings. The right-hander still has a solid 2.31 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 13:3 K:BB and one hold through 12.2 innings over 14 appearances. He's not likely to be a regular in the late-inning mix, but it's a role he can fill when the Orioles' high-leverage crew is overworked.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Jacob Webb: Back from paternity leave
The Orioles reinstated Webb (personal) from the paternity list Saturday. Webb missed the Orioles' season opener Thursday due to the birth of his child. He earned the last spot in Baltimore's bullpen by posting a 4.91 ERA over 7.1 innings in spring training.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Jacob Webb: Lands on paternity list
The Orioles placed Webb (personal) on the paternity list Thursday. Webb had been on track to secure a spot in the Orioles' Opening Day bullpen at the conclusion of spring training, but he'll have to wait a bit to make his season debut while he takes some time away from the team to observe the birth of his child. Per MLB rules, Webb can stay on the paternity list for 1-to-3 days before he would have to be added back to the 26-man active roster.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Jacob Webb: Expected to win last bullpen spot
Webb is in line to make the Orioles' Opening Day roster after the team sent down Jonathan Heasley on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Webb had a 4.91 ERA over 7.1 innings across seven Grapefruit League outings. Between the Orioles and the Angels last season, he recorded a 3.69 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 57:30 K:BB across 53.2 innings. The right-handed reliever hasn't been confirmed for the roster just yet -- there's a lot of roster churn just before Opening Day, and it's always possible the Orioles could snag an extra reliever from outside the organization, which could bump Webb off the major-league roster at the last minute.... Orioles' Jacob Webb: Wins arbitration case
Webb will earn $1 million in 2024 after winning his arbitration case against the Orioles on Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Webb posted a 3.27 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 22 innings after he was claimed off waivers by the O's in August, earning himself a $260,000 raise from last season. The 30-year-old righty projects as a middle reliever heading into 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Jacob Webb: Impresses with Baltimore
Webb pitched to a 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB over 22 innings after he was claimed off waivers by the Orioles. Webb also had six holds after joining Baltimore. The 30-year-old right-hander pitched fine with the Angels to begin the year with a 3.98 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 34:20 K:BB across 31.2 innings, but he was able to improve his efficiency while becoming a trusted part of the Orioles' bullpen. They'll look for that to continue in the postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Jacob Webb: Lands in Baltimore
The Orioles claimed Webb off waivers from the Angels on Monday. Webb, who turns 30 later this month, had a 3.98 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 34:20 K:BB in 31.2 innings for the Angels this season before getting designated for assignment over the weekend. He's out of minor-league options, so he will assume a low-leverage role once he is able to join the Orioles in Baltimore for this week's series against the Astros.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Jacob Webb: Removed from 40-man roster
The Angels designated Webb for assignment Saturday. Webb made it through Friday's appearance without allowing a run, but he walked three batters, and that was apparently the last straw for Los Angeles. The 29-year-old righty has handed out 20 free passes and served up six homers in 31.2 innings in the majors this season. Kenny Rosenberg was added in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Jacob Webb: Earns first save
Webb picked up the save Thursday against the Rangers. He allowed one walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning. The 29-year-old stepped into a high-leverage situation after Carlos Estevez walked the first three batters of the ninth to load the bases with no outs. However, Webb managed to escape the jam allowing just one inherited runner to score and pick up his first save of 2023 and the fourth of his career. In 11 appearances (13.1 innings) this season, Webb sports a 2.03 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP to pair with a 14:5 K:BB, as he's emerged as one of the Angels' top bullpen arms.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Jacob Webb: Receives call-up
The Angels selected the contract of Webb from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday. Webb signed a minor-league contract with the Angels in November, and while he didn't make the Opening Day roster, the right-hander will now have a chance to work out of the big-league bullpen. He'll likely be ticketed for a middle-innings role in the early going.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Jacob Webb: Sent out to minor-league camp
Webb was reassigned Friday to the minor-league side of Angels camp. Webb impressed with 10 strikeouts over eight scoreless innings this spring in the Cactus League, but he'll open the 2023 season in the bullpen at Triple-A Salt Lake. He could be a contributor for the Halos at some point this year.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Jacob Webb: Joins Angels
Webb signed a minor-league deal with the Angels on Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Webb spent the entire 2022 season in Triple-A, splitting time with the Atlanta and Arizona organizations. He had effective seasons in the majors in both 2019 and 2020, so it's possible he contributes with the Angels in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jacob Webb: Ourtrighted to Triple-A
Webb cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. Webb was designated for assignment Thursday but will remain in the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. He made six relief appearances at Triple-A Reno to begin the year and posted a 10.13 ERA and 2.16 WHIP in 5.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jacob Webb: Shipped back to Atlanta
Atlanta acquired Webb from Arizona on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations. Atlanta placed reliever Collin McHugh on the COVID-19-related injured list to open up room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Webb, who is back with the organization after he was previously waived and claimed by the Diamondbacks in April. Webb has pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level this season, but he supplied a 4.19 ERA and 1.51 WHIP in 34.1 innings with Atlanta in 2021.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Jacob Webb: Designated for assignment
Webb was designated for assignment Sunday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports. Webb gave up six earned runs in 5.1 innings at Triple-A this year. The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Cole Tucker, who was claimed off waivers.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Jacob Webb: Scooped up by Snakes
Arizona claimed Webb off waivers from Atlanta on Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Reno, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports. The Diamondbacks cleared room for the right-handed reliever on the 40-man roster by designating outfielder Stuart Fairchild for assignment. Though Webb will begin his tenure in the Arizona organization at Triple-A, a promotion to the Diamondbacks could come in short order, given the lack of established middle-relief options in the big-league bullpen. Webb owns a 2.47 ERA and .240 batting average against over 78 career MLB relief appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jacob Webb: DFA'd by Atlanta
Webb was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Webb failed to make the Opening Day roster and has now lost his spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster. The 28-year-old had a 1.39 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB over 32.1 innings during 2019, but he had a 4.19 ERA and 1.51 WHIP last year. Atlanta selected the contract of Jackson Stephens in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jacob Webb: Dropped from roster
Webb was left off Atlanta's World Series roster, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports. Webb has appeared in two playoff games this season, giving up four runs in 1.2 innings of work. Kyle Wright, who can give the team a bit more length, was included in Webb's place.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Jacob Webb: One-out save
Webb recorded a one-out save Saturday against the Mets, allowing two walks and tossing a wild pitch. Webb clinched his first save of the season Saturday as he recorded the final out of the game, but it wasn't a relaxed outing by any means -- he walked Michael Conforto and Pete Alonso to load the bases before retiring Jonathan Villar on a groundout. Webb has now tossed two straight scoreless outings, and if he doesn't pitch Sunday, he'll end the season with a 4.19 ERA over 34.1 innings.... See More ... See Less
