De La Cruz crushed a two-run, 422-foot homer off Casey Mize in the first inning Wednesday for the only runs scored in the Marlins' shutout victory. De La Cruz has gone just 4-for-24 in his last six games, though he's already up to nine home runs on the season, nearly halfway to the career-high 19 he hit last year. Overall, the 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .256/.304/.456 with 25 runs scored and 24 RBI, both team highs, through his first 194 plate appearances in 2024.

De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Cubs.
Getting the start at DH and batting second, the 27-year-old took Jameson Taillon deep in the fourth inning for the Marlins' first run of the night. Unfortunately, they were already in a 7-0 hole at that point. De La Cruz has a seven-game hitting streak going, a stretch in which he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) with three of his four doubles on the season, three of his four homers and 10 of his 11 RBI. The power surge has boosted his slash line to .286/.294/.476 through 85 plate appearances.

The 27-year-old outfielder accounted for the Marlins' only run of the game with his sixth-inning shot off Keaton Winn. De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-3 win over San Francisco.
De La Cruz got Miami on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI double off Jordan Hicks. The outfielder would then swipe third base, his first steal of the year, before scoring on a Jesus Sanchez groundout. De La Cruz isn't likely to offer much in terms of stolen bases -- he had just four steals in each of his previous two campaigns. Still, De La Cruz has been swinging a hot bat, hitting safely in five straight games, going 7-for-21 with a homer and eight RBI in that span.
