Lundkvist posted an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 2. Lundkvist's minutes have been heavily managed during the postseason -- he's reached 10 minutes of ice time in just one of nine playoff games. As such, he's produced next to nothing statistically, with the assist being his first point to go with a minus-1 rating, one shot on goal, five hits and one blocked shot. Lundkvist will almost certainly lose his place in the lineup once Jani Hakanpaa (lower body) is fit to play.... See More ... See Less

Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Hands out assist in win
Lundkvist notched an assist and two hits in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Kraken. Lundkvist had a shot that Wyatt Johnston tipped in late in the second period. This was Lundkvist's fourth helper over six games since he replaced Jani Hakanpaa (lower body) in the lineup. Lundkvist is up to 19 points, 67 shots on net, 35 blocked shots, 40 hits and a plus-15 rating through 52 appearances on the year.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Picks up helper
Lundkvist notched an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Sharks. Lundkvist has three helpers over the last four games. He's done an admirable job while filling in for Jani Hakanpaa (lower body) in a bottom-four role. For the season, Lundkvist has a career-high 18 points with 66 shots on net, 38 hits, 35 blocked shots and a plus-14 rating through 50 appearances. When the Stars' defense is back to full health, he may not have a place in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Gets stitches after game
Lundkvist (face) needed stitches after exiting Wednesday's game versus the Coyotes in the third period, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports. Lundkvist was impressive over 14:14 of ice time against Arizona with two assists, four shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots prior to his injury. The 23-year-old was in the lineup because Jani Hakanpaa (lower body) was unable to play Wednesday. Lundkvist has had trouble getting in the lineup, but it appears he's avoided a more serious injury. He should be considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's game versus the Penguins.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : In action Thursday
Lundkvist (concussion) will return to the lineup against Winnipeg on Thursday, Brian Rea of Bally Sports Southwest reports. Lundkvist is set to return to the lineup after missing the Stars' last seven games due to his concussion. With the defenseman back, he could be in line for a spot with the second power-play unit while relegating Joel Hanley to a spot in the press box. For his part, Lundkvist has managed just one point in his previous seven contests, so he probably shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Not available Tuesday
Lundkvist (concussion) won't play Tuesday versus the Avalanche, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports. Head coach Pete DeBoer said that Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) returning was the only change among his skaters from the group that lost 3-2 in overtime to the Islanders on Monday. Lundkvist will be out for his seventh straight game, but there's a sense he's getting close to being available. The Stars are back home Thursday versus the Jets.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Still sidelined
Lundkvist (concussion) won't be available for Monday's game versus the Islanders, Brian Rea of Bally Sports Southwest reports. Although Lundkvist will miss a sixth straight contest Monday, he's reportedly close to returning, suggesting he could be back as soon as Tuesday against the Avalanche or Thursday versus the Jets. The 23-year-old Swede has picked up 15 points while averaging only 15:08 of ice time per game through 43 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Missing from road trip
Lundkvist (concussion) didn't join the Stars for their four-game road trip, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports Monday. Lundkvist needs just one more point to match his total from last season but will need to wait until at least next Monday's clash with the Islanders to get back on the scoresheet. An injury to Jani Hakanpaa (upper body) will see both Derrick Pouliot and Alex Petrovic inserted into the lineup against Boston on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Out Saturday
Lundkvist (concussion) won't play Saturday versus Edmonton, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine. Lundkvist was evaluated for a concussion after departing Thursday's game versus Nashville, so it's no surprise he'll miss Saturday's matchup with the Oilers. The 23-year-old blueliner has two goals and 15 points through 43 games this season. Joel Hanley will slot back into the lineup in Lundkvist's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Being evaluated for concussion
Lundkvist is undergoing further evaluation for concussion symptoms, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports Friday. Lundkvist's status against Edmonton on Saturday should probably be considered doubtful at this point, though he hasn't been officially ruled out. The blueliner has generated just five shots in his last six contests while averaging 12:13 of ice time, so few fantasy players are likely to be impacted by his potential absence. If Lundkvist does miss out Saturday, Joel Hanley figures to step into the lineup in his stead.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Exits Thursday's game
Lundkvist left Thursday's contest against Nashville because of an upper-body injury and isn't expected to return. Lundkvist logged just 1:34 of ice time before leaving the game. He entered the evening with two goals and 15 points across 42 appearances this season. If Lundkvist isn't available Saturday versus Edmonton, then Joel Hanley might draw back into the lineup.... Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Gathers assist in win
Lundkvist notched an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes. Lundkvist snapped his five-game point drought by setting up a Mason Marchment tally in the second period. While his offense hasn't been very consistent, Lundkvist has at least stayed in the lineup regularly, sitting out just two of 18 games since the start of January. The 23-year-old has 15 points, 57 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 25 hits and a plus-9 rating over 42 outings. The downside is that the emergence of Thomas Harley as an all-situations powerhouse has essentially eliminated Lundkvist's chances to play with the man advantage.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Scores in loss
Lundkvist scored a goal on four shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Islanders. Lundkvist put Dallas ahead 2-1 late in the second period, beating Ilya Sorokin with a slap shot for his second goal and 14th point of the year. While the 23-year-old blueliner has yet to provide consistent production, he'll offer some deep-league upside while Miro Heiskanen (lower body) is out. Lundkvist has averaged 1:43 of power-play time over his last seven games.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Hands out assist
Lundkvist notched an assist and three shots on goal in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Predators. Lundkvist has six points and 10 shots on net over his last seven outings while going plus-6 in that span. He's seen a few more good looks recently with Miro Heiskanen (lower body) out of the lineup. Lundkvist had lost his everyday role in December, but he should be playing regularly at least until Heiskanen is healthy again. Lundkvist has 13 points, 35 shots on net, 21 hits, 20 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 31 outings in a bottom-four role.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Chips in two helpers Sunday
Lundkvist notched two assists, three shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Blackhawks. Lundkvist also saw a season-high 19:31 of ice time in the blowout win as head coach Pete DeBoer gave his veterans some rest. After being scratched in nine of the first 12 games in December, Lundkvist has supplied three helpers over his last two outings to gain some traction toward staying in the lineup. The 23-year-old blueliner is at 10 helpers, 28 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 26 contests overall. Joel Hanley is the Stars' extra defensemen currently, though it's possible he and Lundkvist share the last spot in the lineup for a while.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Offers helper
Lundkvist posted an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Coyotes. Lundkvist saw a season-low 12:45 of ice time, and he's been under 15 minutes in six of eight games in November. Despite the reduced role, he's posted four assists over his last four games, a span which includes his two highest ice times of the month. The 23-year-old is at six helpers, 17 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 15 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Pair of helpers in win
Lundkvist picked up two assists in Thursday's 5-2 win over Columbus. Lundkvist set up Matt Duchene's go-ahead goal in the second period before adding a second helper on a Tyler Seguin deflection early in the third. It's the first multi-point game of the year for the 23-year-old Lundkvist, who now has four assists through 12 games. He should continue to see time on Dallas' second power-play unit while working with Thomas Harley on the third defensive pairing.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Assists in consecutive games
Lundkvist recorded an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Flames. Lundkvist opened the season with six straight goose eggs, but he's posted a helper in each of the last two contests. The 23-year-old defenseman also saw a season-low 13:40 of ice time Wednesday, but the Stars have continued to deploy players in a fairly balanced manner this season. The Swede has a plus-4 rating, six shots on goal, seven blocked shots and two PIM to go with his pair of helpers over eight games.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Gets on scoresheet with helper
Lundkvist notched an assist and two PIM in Monday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets. Lundkvist took a minus-1 rating Monday, the first time he's been negative this season. Despite that, he also picked up his first point in seven outings. The 23-year-old has seen time on the third pairing and second power-play unit, but his ice time has trended down from 19:21 in the season opener to 14:21 in Monday's game. Lundkvist appears to have a more well-rounded game so far with a plus-2 rating, five blocked shots and three hits, but the offensive power of Thomas Harley (four points) could eventually lead to a shake-up on the second power-play unit.... Stars' Nils Lundkvist: Role reduced in March
Lundkvist has played in only seven of the Stars' 14 games in March. Lundkvist's reduced role has come as the playoff race intensifies. The Stars clearly aren't ready to fully trust the 22-year-old in his own zone, leading to more playing time for veteran Joel Hanley while Lundkvist watches from the press box. Lundkvist hasn't helped his cause with zero points and just five shots on goal in March, though he's produced 16 points, 94 shots, 67 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 60 outings overall....
