Burks tallied 26 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-8 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 27 minutes in Sunday's 130-109 loss to Indiana in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Burks provided New York with strong play off the bench in the winner-take-all contest, leading all bench players in Sunday's game in scoring while ending as one of two Knicks with 25 or more points in the season-ending loss. Burks, who didn't appear in the postseason prior to the series against the Pacers, set a playoff-high in scoring while tallying 15 or more points in three of his final four games.... See More ... Knicks' Alec Burks: Drops team-high 20 points
Burks contributed 20 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-10 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. With the Pacers jumping out to a huge lead and Jalen Brunson looking less than 100 percent, Burks saw extended playing time and made the most of his opportunity. We know Burks can put up points in a hurry when afforded meaningful playing time. However, with that said, New York fans will be hoping this is not the case in Game 5 on Tuesday, given his outbursts tend to come when the Knicks are on the wrong end of the blowout.... See More ... Knicks' Alec Burks: Cracks rotation Wednesday
Burks closed Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with zero points (0-1 FG) in one minute. Burks dusted himself off Wednesday, leaving the bench for the first time this postseason. Jalen Brunson was forced to the locker room during the second quarter, affording one minute of playing time to Burks. Given Brunson was able to return to the game, it is unlikely we see Burks again anytime soon.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Handles light role in return
Burks (shoulder) tallied five points (2-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in 12 minutes Sunday in the Knicks' 113-112 win over the Thunder. Burks was back in action after a three-game absence due to a sprained shoulder but wasn't able to make much of an impression during his time on the court. He'll likely hold down a minor role in New York's rotation in the short term, but he could see his playing time disappear entirely once the team gets OG Anunoby (elbow) and Julius Randle (shoulder) back from injury.... Knicks' Alec Burks: Will be available Sunday
Burks (shoulder) is available for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports. As expected, Burks has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up following a three-game absence. Thus far in March (10 appearances), Burks has averaged 7.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Probable to face OKC
Burks (shoulder) is probable for Sunday's game against the Thunder. Burks seems likely to return to the court after a three-game absence. If available, the veteran sharpshooter should provide minutes off the bench, but he's not expected to deliver tons of fantasy value.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Won't play Friday
Burks (shoulder) won't play Friday against the Spurs. Burks will miss his third straight game Friday, but he's said to be day-to-day. His next chance to play will come Sunday against the Thunder.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Questionable for Friday
Burks (shoulder) is questionable to play Friday against the Spurs. Burks could be in line to miss a third straight game with a shoulder sprain, but even if he's available, his presence won't alter many fantasy lineups. The veteran guard is logging just 12.4 minutes per game since the beginning of March.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Won't play against Toronto
Burks (shoulder) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Raptors, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Burks will miss his second straight contest Wednesday after being downgraded from questionable to out with a right shoulder sprain. The veteran guard's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with San Antonio.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Questionable for Wednesday
Burks (shoulder) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors. Burks missed Monday's game against the Pistons due to a right shoulder sprain, and it's unclear whether he'll be available Wednesday. If he remains out, Bojan Bogdanovic could see a few more minutes than usual.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Downgraded to out
Burks (shoulder) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pistons, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Burks has been dealing with a lingering shoulder issue and will take a night off for the first time as a Knick. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday in Toronto.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Listed as questionable
Burks is questionable for Monday's game against Detroit with a sprained right shoulder. This sounds like a day-to-day issue for Burks given the questionable tag. He's played a very limited role in March, averaging just 12.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Goes for 18 points off bench
Burks amassed 18 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two steals in 21 minutes during Thursday's 113-100 loss to the Nuggets. Burks is settled as a bench option in the Knicks' offensive scheme, and that alone is enough reason for fantasy managers to be wary about his upside, as his role is extremely inconsistent. He has scored in double digits in two of his last three appearances, but on the same note, he's achieved that feat just three times since the All-Star break. He's averaging 6.7 points per game while shooting 28.3 percent from deep in that span, so Burks should be better left on the waiver wire in most leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Struggles to find shot
Burks ended Monday's 119-112 victory over Golden State with five points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist across 14 minutes. Since being traded to the Knicks on Feb. 8, Burks has struggled to find his footing, averaging 7.3 points in 14.4 minutes on 31.5 percent shooting. Before the trade, Burks averaged 12.6 points in 20.9 minutes on a more respectable 39.4 percent from the field with Detroit. The change of scenery has not bode well for the 32-year-old. He should not be expected to provide much fantasy value behind Miles McBride, who has flourished the past month in 29.0 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Retreats to bench Thursday
Burks isn't starting Thursday's game against the 76ers. Burks started the Knicks' final game before the All-Star break but will retreat to the bench Thursday since Donte DiVincenzo (hamstring) and Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) are back in action. Burks has averaged 13.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game over his last five appearances off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Will start Wednesday
Burks will start Wednesday's game against the Magic. With Donte DiVincenzo (hamstring) and Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) sidelined, Burks will make his first start this season. During his first game with the Knicks this season, Burks posted 22 points (7-14 FG) in 22 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday but scored just five points in the next contest. He should get plenty of looks versus Orlando, but Jalen Brunson will lead New York's offense.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Pops for 22 in New York debut
Burks supplied 22 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 22 minutes during Saturday's 125-111 loss to Indiana. Suiting up for his first game with the Knicks following a trade from the Pistons, Burks didn't miss a beat, as he drained three or more three-pointers for the 12th time in 19 games since the beginning of January. The veteran guard is averaging 17.1 points, 3.2 threes, 3.1 boards and 1.9 assists over 24.5 minutes a contest in the new year, but it could be awhile before his usage with the Knicks becomes clear given all the injuries the team is dealing with.... Knicks' Alec Burks: Cleared to debut
Burks will be available to play in Saturday's game against the Pacers, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports. Burks was acquired from the Pistons at the deadline and is expected to provide New York's second unit a big boost offensively. He may see an increased role early on, as the Knicks are dealing with several key injuries.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' Alec Burks: Shipped to New York
The Pistons are finalizing a trade to send Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic to the Knicks in exchange for Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Evan Fournier, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round picks on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Burks is enjoying a quality season for Detroit, averaging 12.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.0 minutes across 43 appearances. The veteran guard has proven to be an elite outside shooter, converting 40.1 percent of his 5.7 three-point attempts per contest in 2023-24 and shooting over 40 percent from deep in each of the last four seasons. While the 32-year-old didn't fit Detroit's timeline, he will likely provide spacing for the Knicks off the bench. Burks last played for New York in 2021-22, making 81 appearances, including 44 starts.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Alec Burks: Wakes up with 25 points in victory
Burks accumulated 25 points (7-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 133-120 victory over the Kings. Burks has only averaged 21 minutes per game this season while buried on the depth chart, but absences from Cade Cunningham (knee) and Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) yielded additional usage from the veteran. Burks is one of the oldest players on a very young roster, but he's been able to carve a fairly consistent second-unit role. Expectations should be tempered for him, as he's only exceeded Wednesday's scoring total three times this season.... See More ... See Less
