The Dodgers transferred Hurt (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Saturday. Hurt has been on the injured list since April 20 due to right shoulder inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL ensures he will be out until at least mid-June. Nabil Crismatt was selected from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Hurt's place on the 40-man roster.... See More ... See Less

Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Lands on IL
The Dodgers placed Hurt (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to April 17. Hurt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday and pitched two shutout innings in the Dodgers' 6-2 win over the Nationals. He's posted a 1.35 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 6.2 innings in the majors this season while recording three strikeouts. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers recalled Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Sacramento.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Completes two innings
Hurt threw two shutout innings as the Dodgers' opener on Tuesday against the Nationals. He allowed three hits and did not walk or strike out a batter. Hurt was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma to start Tuesday's game and managed to work through two scoreless frames. The Nationals opened up the game with three straight hits but did not score after CJ Abrams was thrown out at home on a Jesse Winker double. Hurt has now given up two runs (one earned) while striking out three in 6.2 major-league innings this year.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Recalled, starting Tuesday
Hurt was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City and will start Tuesday against the Nationals, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hurt has given up one earned run across 6.2 career MLB innings, and Tuesday will mark his first time starting a big-league game. The 25-year-old righty has made two starts in Triple-A this season but has only been stretched out to roughly 45 pitches, so he could struggle to work deep enough into Tuesday's outing to qualify for a win. Ryan Yarbrough is expected to serve in bulk relief once Hurt is removed from the game.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Set for promotion
The Dodgers are expected to recall Hurt from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Tuesday's game against the Nationals, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. It's not clear whether Hurt will be used as a starter or reliever, as the Dodgers have an opening in the rotation Tuesday. He made the Opening Day roster as a member of the bullpen, but the 25-year-old has mostly been a starter in the minors. He's made two starts for Oklahoma City this season, allowing three runs with an 8:4 K:BB over four innings.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Optioned to Triple-A
Hurt was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Hurt opened the 2024 campaign on the major-league roster, appearing in two contests prior to being sent down Sunday. The right hander allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings, and he'll likely earn another shot with the Dodgers relatively soon. In a corresponding move, Nabil Crismatt will replace Hurt in the team's bullpen for the time being.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Likely to work in bullpen
Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Hurt has a "very good possibility" of being a relief option for the Dodgers during the season-opening series against the Padres in South Korea, which begins Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The 25-year-old has prepped as a starter during spring training and is still viewed as one long term, but he could help Los Angeles in relief to begin the season. Hurt's inclusion on the roster for South Korea doesn't necessarily mean he'll retain that spot once the Dodgers return stateside, but it could give him a chance to show why he should stick in the majors.... Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Gets call to big-league bullpen
The Dodgers selected Hurt's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Hurt will bring a whole lot of swing-and-miss stuff with him as he arrives in the majors for the first time at age 25. He's expected to work out of the bullpen, possibly in a multi-inning role, and could be a consideration for the postseason roster if he performs well. The righty had posted a 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 145:41 K:BB in 88.1 innings (16 starts, nine relief appearances) this summer between Double-A and Triple-A.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Strikeout rate over 40 percent
Hurt, 25, has a 3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 98:24 K:BB in 56.1 innings for Double-A Tulsa. Hurt's 40.5 percent strikeout rate and 30.6 percent K-BB% are second this year for Double-A pitchers behind only organizational mate Emmet Sheehan. Granted, Hurt is 18 months older than Sheehan and unlike Sheehan, he is still at Double-A, but he has good stuff in his own right, with an upper-90s fastball, plus changeup and quality slider....
