Stephenson is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Giants.
Stephenson started behind the plate in each of the first two games of the series, going 1-for-7 with one walk and three strikeouts. Luke Maile will start at catcher for the series finale Sunday, while Mike Ford serves as the designated hitter.
