The Islanders placed Gauthier on waivers Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Gauthier has been a healthy scratch in three of the Islanders' last nine games and he was pointless in the other six contests. Gauthier should be sent to AHL Bridgeport if he passes through waivers. He will likely be replaced by Casey Cizikas (lower body) on the Isles' fourth line once Cizikas returns to action.... See More ... See Less

Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Scores twice in win
Gauthier scored a pair of goals and added an assist in Friday's 5-1 victory over the Capitals. After assisting on Jean-Gabriel Pageau's first-period tally, Gauthier extended New York's lead to 3-0 midway through the third period before adding a second goal just 18 seconds later, burying a feed from Pageau on a rush. The three-point outburst snapped a seven-game scoring drought for Gauthier. The 26-year-old winger is now up to four goals and eight points through 16 games in a middle-six role with the Islanders.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Set to be available for Saturday
Gauthier (undisclosed) is slated to be available for Saturday's game against Carolina. Gauthier missed Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Washington because of the injury. He has two goals, five points and 29 hits in 14 outings this year. Although he's expected to be available, Oliver Wahlstrom is projected to remain in the lineup, which makes Gauthier a potential healthy scratch Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Unavailable Wednesday
Gauthier (undisclosed) traveled with the Islanders to Washington, but he'll miss Wednesday's contest against the Capitals. Gauthier joining the Islanders on their road trip keeps the door open to him potentially playing Saturday in Carolina. He has two goals and five points in 14 contests this season. Although Gauthier is out Wednesday, the Islanders are getting Oliver Wahlstrom (illness) back against the Capitals.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Injured in Tuesday's game
Gauthier (undisclosed) sustained an injury in the second period of Tuesday's game versus the Oilers, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. There was no update on Gauthier's status after the game, leaving him questionable for Wednesday's contest versus the Capitals. The 26-year-old winger has five points over 14 contests this season. If he can't play Wednesday, Oliver Wahlstrom would likely enter the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Scores again Tuesday
Gauthier scored a goal on his lone shot in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to San Jose. Gauthier opened the scoring Tuesday, firing a wrister past Kaapo Kahkonen to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. The 26-year-old Gauthier now has two goals and an assist in his last two contests and four points (two goals, two assists) overall through his first seven games with the Islanders. While Gauthier still doesn't warrant much fantasy consideration, he could work his way into a top-six role on an Islanders' team ranked 27th in the league with 2.80 goals per game. He tallied five goals and nine points in 24 games between the Senators and Rangers last season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: First goal with new team
Gauthier had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over Florida on Saturday. He scored early in the third off a face-off win by Bo Horvat. He wired it from the top of the right circle. It was Gauthier's first goal in six games as an Islander. The 26-year-old's best season came in 2022-23 with the Rangers when he provided six goals and three assists in 40 contests. Nice nice, but don't mistake him for a fantasy play.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Healthy, but unlikely to play
Gauthier took part in Wednesday's practice, which suggests he's recovered from his illness, but he's projected to be a healthy scratch for the evening's game against Philadelphia, per Andrew Gross of Newsday. Gauthier missed the Islanders' previous two contests due to his illness, but he's also spent a significant chunk of the campaign as a healthy scratch. He has no points, a minus-1 rating and four hits in two appearances with the Islanders this season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Unavailable Saturday
Gauthier (illness) will miss Saturday's game against Calgary, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday. Gauthier has no points, four hits and a blocked shot in two contests this season. Once he recovers from the illness, Gauthier could play on the fourth line or serve as a healthy scratch.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Julien Gauthier: Battling illness
Gauthier will miss Thursday's game due to an illness, per Ethan Sears of the New York Post. Gauthier has no points, one shot, four hits and one block in two contests with the Islanders this season. He's often a healthy scratch, so even when Gauthier recovers from the illness, he might not immediately draw back into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Julien Gauthier: Available to return
Gauthier (illness) participated in Tuesday's morning skate after missing the past two games, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports. Gauthier was an extra during the session, so he might be a healthy scratch against the Hurricanes. He has four points, 16 shots on net and 28 hits in 14 outings with the Senators this season. According to TSN 1200 Ottawa, Ottawa will have some game-time decisions, which could lead to Gauthier's return to the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Julien Gauthier: Dealing with illness
Gauthier (illness) is day-to-day and is not expected to play Saturday against Toronto, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. It's unclear at this time if Gauthier will travel with the team ahead of Sunday's contest versus Columbus. He has been a healthy scratch for Ottawa's past two games, so he may not be in the lineup even if he is healthy. The 25-year-old forward has four points, 16 shots on net and 28 hits in 14 outings with the Senators since being acquired from the Rangers on Feb. 19.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Julien Gauthier: Expected to play Monday
Gauthier is expected to be in Monday's lineup against Boston, Claire Hanna of TSN reports. Gauthier was acquired from the Rangers on Sunday. The 25-year-old was held without a point in his last 10 games before being traded. He'll likely fill a bottom-six role to begin his Senators career.... See More ... See Less -
Senators' Julien Gauthier: Heading to Ottawa
Gauthier was dealt from the Rangers to the Senators on Sunday in exchange for Tyler Motte. Gauthier tallied six goals and three assists in 40 games with New York this season while bouncing around the lineup. He'll head to a rebuilding Senators team, with which he'll have a better chance at claiming a top-six spot. The 25-year-old Gauthier has flashed some offensive potential throughout his career and could see his production increase with an expanded role in Ottawa.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Lifted from IR
Gauthier (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per CapFriendly. Gauthier was activated after Jonny Brodzinski was waived earlier in the day. This move suggests Gauthier will return after a fairly minimal stay on IR -- he miss the last three games after exiting the previous two early with injuries. The 25-year-old will likely be in the mix for a fourth-line role going forward.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Won't play Sunday
Gauthier (upper body) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest with the Canadiens, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today. Gauthier initially suffered an upper-body injury Tuesday against Minnesota and appeared to reaggravate it Thursday after colliding with teammate Sammy Blais. Gauthier has six goals and three assists through 32 games this season in a bottom-six role. Newly-acquired Jake Leschyshyn could make his Rangers debut in Gauthier's absence.... See More ... Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Done for night
Gauthier (upper body) exited Thursday's game versus the Stars, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Gauthier collided with teammate Sammy Blais in the first period, and it appears the former got the worst of it. Gauthier also left Tuesday's game with an injury, though it's unclear if the two incidents are related in anyway. Another update on Gauthier's status should be available before Sunday's game versus the Canadiens.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Good to go Thursday
Gauthier (upper body) is in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Stars, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. Gauthier exited Tuesday's game early, but it's clearly not enough to cost him any additional time. The 25-year-old is expected to play in his usual spot on the fourth line.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Exits Tuesday's game
Gauthier (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Wild, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. It's unclear what caused Gauthier's exit, but it's enough to keep him out of the last two periods. If he misses any additional time, Sammy Blais would likely rejoin the Rangers' lineup.... Rangers' Julien Gauthier: Nets second-period marker
Gauthier scored a goal during Saturday's 4-3 loss to the visiting Oilers. Gauthier, who entered Saturday having drawn 4.1 penalties per 60 minutes, used his disruptive skills in other ways. Despite receiving a season-low 6:08 of ice time, the 25-year-old right winger connected on his fourth goal this season while registering three shots and three hits. Gauthier's tally Saturday developed from a scramble in front of goalie Jack Campbell, giving the Rangers what appeared to be a commanding 3-0 lead at 16:27 of the second period.... See More ...
