Clutterbuck scored two goals in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Jets. The veteran grinder scored the first two tallies of the afternoon before the halfway mark of the first period, but he wasn't able to complete the hat trick. Clutterbuck has only seven goals on the season and managed just one tally in 44 outings before Saturday's outburst. Most of Clutterbuck's fantasy value comes from his physical play -- he's up to 236 hits on the campaign, his best total since 2015-16 and the third-best mark in the NHL behind Jeremy Lauzon's 324 and Garnet Hathaway's 283.... Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Finds twine Sunday
Clutterbuck scored a goal and added five hits in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Ducks. Clutterbuck snapped a 37-game goal drought with a tally late in the third period after a Ducks turnover. The winger had seven assists during his scoring slump, and he's never one to put up significant offense. For the season, he's logged 16 points, 38 shots on net, 215 hits and a plus-5 rating over 63 appearances. Clutterbuck's totals in points and games played are both his highest in five years.... Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Supplies assist Monday
Clutterbuck notched an assist, five hits and two PIM in Monday's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs. Clutterbuck has gone 25 games without a goal, but he was able to snap a seven-game point drought with his helper on Kyle MacLean's first NHL tally. The 36-year-old Clutterbuck remains in a fourth-line role, but he's enjoying one of his best seasons in recent years with 14 points through 50 appearances. He's added 32 shots on net, 146 hits, 40 blocked shots, 26 PIM and a plus-1 rating. If he stays healthy, he should have a chance to reach 20 points for the first time since 2018-19.... See More ... Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Chips in with helper
Clutterbuck notched an assist and four hits in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Predators. Clutterbuck has two assists over six games in January. The 36-year-old winger helped out on a Jean-Gabriel Pageau tally in the third period. By his standards, it's been a solid campaign -- Clutterbuck has 13 points through 42 outings while adding 29 shots on net, 118 hits and 24 PIM in a fourth-line role. He needs just three more points to secure his most productive season since 2018-19.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Finds back of net
Clutterbuck scored a goal on one shot in Thursday's 7-3 win over Columbus. Clutterbuck scored his fourth goal of the season despite the fact he has managed just six shots in his last 11 contests. A fixture on the Islanders' fourth line, the veteran winger isn't necessarily counted on to produce goals but needs just two more to match his total from the 2022-23 campaign.... See More ... Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Available to play
Clutterbuck (illness) is available to play in Tuesday's contest against New Jersey, according to Andrew Gross of Newsday. Clutterbuck should be back on the fourth line after missing practice Monday. He has generated two goals, four assists and 48 hits in 20 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Under the weather
Clutterbuck is considered day-to-day with an illness Monday. Another update on Clutterbuck's status may be made available following Tuesday's morning skate, but for the time being, he should be considered questionable for that evening's matchup against New Jersey. Either way, the 36-year-old winger has been limited to six points through 20 contests this campaign, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to monitor his availability.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Goal and assist in loss
Clutterbuck scored a goal on one shot and added an assist in the Islanders' 7-4 loss to the Avalanche on Tuesday. Clutterbuck opened the scoring for the Islanders, beating Alexandar Georgiev off a deflection in front. He would also pick up an assist on Simon Holmstrom's goal. This performance gives Clutterbuck three points in five games to open the season. He should continue to occupy a role on the fourth line moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Gets three points vs. Leafs
Clutterbuck provided two goals and an assist in Tuesday's 7-2 victory over Toronto. It was certainly a rare night for Clutterbuck. The 35-year-old has spent most of his career serving as a bottom-six forward and is known more for his physical play than his work with the puck. Clutterbuck didn't record a point in his previous six outings, and he was in the midst of an 11-game goal-scoring slump. Through 39 appearances this season, the winger now has six goals, 11 points and 155 hits.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Expected back Saturday
Clutterbuck (upper body) should rejoin the Islanders on Saturday against Washington, per Andrew Gross of Newsday. Clutterbuck has missed 20 games since suffering an upper-body injury Jan. 19. The 35-year-old winger has four goals and eight points in 34 games this season. Clutterbuck will likely return to a fourth-line role with the Islanders.... See More ... See Less -

Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Skating on his own
Clutterbuck (upper body) has begun to skate but isn't ready to practice yet, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Clutterbuck has been out of action since Jan. 21 due to the injury. If he does return this season, he is expected to remain in his usual fourth-line role with Matt Martin and Casey Cizikas. As for the trade deadline earlier Friday, the team stood pat. The Isles are currently holding down the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but have several teams nipping at their heels and have games in hand on the Isles.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Still no change in status
Clutterbuck (upper body) is still out for the foreseeable future, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. In the case of Clutterbuck, we know that he had been dealing with a shoulder injury since the offseason, but we don't know if that is keeping him out of the lineup. It may not matter, however, with all of the team's injuries. If they fall out of the playoff picture, it's unlikely they would bring him back this season.... See More ... See Less -
Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Season may be over
Clutterbuck (upper body) may have played his last game this season, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports. Clutterbuck is officially still listed as out indefinitely, but it is fair to wonder if he has played his last game this season. Clutterbuck has dealt with multiple injuries this season, and his body may not be able to withstand his physical style of play. If Clutterbuck has played his last game of the season, then general manager Lou Lamoriello will have to explain why he gave Clutterbuck a two-year contract extension during the offseason and why he didn't trade him before the trade deadline last season.... Clutterbuck is day-to-day after suffering an upper-body injury in Thursday's game versus the Sabres, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Clutterbuck was hurt in the second period and didn't return for the third. If he is forced to miss additional time, Ross Johnston and Simon Holmstrom should see some additional job security. The Islanders' next game is Saturday versus the Hurricanes.... See More ... See Less -

Clutterbuck went to the locker room with an undisclosed injury in the third period of Thursday's game versus the Wild, Ethan Sears of the New York Post reports. Clutterbuck's late exit from the game was not explained by head coach Lane Lambert in his postgame comments. This leaves Clutterbuck day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game versus the Canadiens.
