Bouchard is absent from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Dodgers. Bouchard had started each of the last four contests in left field, but he will begin the series opener against the Dodgers on the bench. Jake Cave is getting the call in left field for this one.... See More ... See Less

Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Drawing fourth straight start
Bouchard will start in left field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Following his call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Bouchard has now started in each of the Rockies' ensuing four games. Bouchard went 2-for-8 with a double, three walks, four runs, two RBI and two stolen bases in the previous three contests. With Jordan Beck (hand) recently hitting the injured list, Bouchard looks like he could be in line for everyday playing time in the corner outfield until Nolan Jones (back) is reinstated from the IL, which could happen next week.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Productive in return to majors
Bouchard went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base Monday against the Guardians. Bouchard was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday to replace Jordan Beck (hand). He's started both games in left field since, batting seventh and eighth in the lineup. Bouchard should have some consistent playing time in front of him, as Nolan Jones (back) is still at least a few days away from beginning a new rehab assignment.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Summoned from Triple-A
The Rockies recalled Bouchard from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. Bouchard will move back up to the big club after the Rockies placed outfielder Jordan Beck (hand) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Bouchard was sent down to Triple-A on May 21 after slashing .222/.333/.370 with one home run and three RBI over 63 plate appearances in the majors. He showed improvement in his short stint in the minors, going 6-for-15 with two home runs and five RBI over his last four games with Albuquerque. He'll start in left field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Phillies, but Bouchard may be ticketed for a short-side platoon role while he's up with the Rockies.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Expected to be recalled
The Rockies are expected to recall Bouchard prior to Sunday's game against the Phillies, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. He'll take the roster spot of the injured Jordan Beck (hand). Bouchard was just sent down earlier this week after slashing .222/.333/.370 in 18 games this season. With Beck out indefinitely and Nolan Jones (back/knee) still on the mend, Bouchard could see ample playing time in the corner outfield spots for the Rockies.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Sent to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Bouchard to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. With Kris Bryant (back) returning from the injured list, Bouchard will head back to the minors to free up a roster spot. The 28-year-old outfielder has put up a 1.042 OPS in the minors so far, though his numbers fell to .222/.333/.370 across 63 plate appearances upon moving to the big leagues. He would likely return to Colorado later this season if the Rockies find themselves in need of outfield depth.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Sitting in third straight
Bouchard is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports. The Rockies haven't indicated that Bouchard is dealing with an injury or illness, so he'll find himself out of the starting nine for a third straight game in what looks to be a performance-related benching. Jake Cave will draw a third start in row in right field at Bouchard's expense, but both are likely to see reductions in playing time in the near future due to Kris Bryant (back) being on the cusp of a return from the injured list.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Blasts first homer
Bouchard reached base three times Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Pirates. Bouchard followed teammate Jacob Stallings' two-run blast with a shot of his own during a second inning that saw the Rockies jump out to an early three-run lead. It was the first homer of the campaign for Bouchard, who later added a double for his first multi-hit effort of the season. Bouchard got the starting nod against Pirates lefty Bailey Falter, marking his first start in four games, as he appears to be mired on the short side of a platoon in right field with Jake Cave, pending the return of Kris Bryant (back), who's currently on the injured list.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Back in lineup versus lefty
Bouchard will start in right field and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Pirates, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports. Bouchard is back in the lineup after he was on the bench for each of the previous three games. The 27-year-old looked as though he might have been headed for a full-time role in right field once Kris Bryant (back) was placed on the injured list April 17, but Bouchard's opportunity seems to have fallen by the wayside while he's posted a .619 OPS through 33 plate appearances in the big leagues this season. While he's in starting nine Sunday against Pirates southpaw Bailey Falter, the right-handed-hitting Bouchard could end up occupying the short side of a platoon in right field with the lefty-hitting Jake Cave until Bryant returns.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Takes seat Thursday
Bouchard is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins. Bouchard started in right field or at designated hitter in each of the last three games, going 1-for-10 with a run and an RBI. The Rockies have leaned on Bouchard as their primary replacement in the lineup for Kris Bryant (back), but Bouchard's time as a near-everyday player could soon come to an end if he's unable to get going at the plate. Since being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on April 17, Bouchard is slashing .214/.333/.286 over 33 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Taking over as right fielder
Bouchard went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Tuesday against the Padres. Bouchard has started five of six games since being called up by the Rockies, with four of those appearances coming in right field. He's collected one hit in every contest, including two doubles. Bouchard should remain a regular as long as Kris Bryant (back) is sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Steps into starting lineup
Bouchard went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored Wednesday against the Phillies. The Rockies recalled Bouchard on Wednesday to take the roster spot of Kris Bryant (back), and he immediately started in left field and hit sixth. Nolan Jones and Charlie Blackmon both were on the bench against a lefty, but Bouchard is not likely to be a regular in the lineup against right-handed pitchers.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Returns from Triple-A
The Rockies recalled Bouchard from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Bouchard has put up a 1.049 OPS over 14 games with Albuquerque this season. He'll join the Rockies' 26-man active roster as a replacement for Kris Bryant (back), who was moved to the 10-day injured list. Bouchard will start in left field and will bat sixth in Wednesday's game in Philadelphia, but it's unclear if he'll be in store for a regular role while Bryant is on the mend.... See More ... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Bouchard to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Bouchard entered spring training as the perceived favorite for the right field job, but he slashed just .209/.314/.349 in Cactus League play and also missed time with an oblique issue. That was enough to cost him a roster spot, at least at the start of the season. The Rockies appear poised to go with a combination of Charlie Blackmon, Jake Cave and Michael Toglia in right field.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Favorite to start in right field
Bouchard is the top candidate to start in right field for the Rockies to begin the 2024 season, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports. Brenton Doyle and Nolan Jones will almost certainly account for the majority of at-bats in center and left field, respectively, to begin the season in Colorado. However, there are more significant questions in right field, with Bouchard and Hunter Goodman looking to be the primary options. Saunders suggests that the Rockies desire stability at the position, which could give Bouchard the edge to begin the campaign. In 140 career plate appearances, he's maintained a .432 wOBA, though he's also struck out at a 27.9 percent clip.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Begins rehab assignment
Bouchard (biceps) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, reaching base twice and scoring a run in four plate appearances. Bouchard underwent surgery in March to repair a ruptured left biceps muscle but is tracking toward a return before the end of August. He could wind up receiving a good amount of playing time with the Rockies once activated from the 60-day injured list.... See More ... See Less -
Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Ahead of schedule
Bouchard (biceps) is progressing ahead of schedule and could make a late-season return, Rockies manager Bud Black told Thomas Harding of MLB.com on Monday. Bouchard had surgery in mid-March to repair a ruptured left biceps muscle. His recovery has evidently gone swimmingly to this point and he could make it back at some point after the All-Star break, but there remains no clear timetable for the outfielder.... See More ... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Undergoes biceps surgery
Bouchard underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his ruptured left biceps muscle, Danielle Allentuck of the Denver Gazette reports. Bouchard suffered the biceps rupture in a Cactus League game last week. There is no estimated timetable yet for his recovery, but early chatter had it as a possible season-ending injury. The 26-year-old was trending toward a sizable role for Colorado in 2023.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Undergoes MRI on biceps
Bouchard underwent an MRI on his ailing left biceps after the injury forced him from Wednesday's game, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Bouchard is hoping for good news when the results come in later Thursday, but imaging being required suggests there's at least some level of concern. The 26-year-old had a big year at Triple-A Albuquerque in 2022 and closed with a strong showing with the Rockies. If healthy, he could have a significant role with the big club in 2023.... Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Leaves with biceps injury
Bouchard exited Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Angels with a left biceps injury, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports. Bouchard suffered the injury during an inning-ending strikeout in the top of the first and was replaced in left field by Cole Tucker before the bottom of the first. There's no indication yet as to the severity of the issue. Bouchard put together an impressive body of work between Triple-A Albuquerque and Colorado last season, leaving him poised to potentially claim a regular role with the Rockies out of the gate in 2023....
