Lindor went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases Wednesday in a loss to Philadelphia. Lindor failed to record a hit for his third straight game, though he scored New York's first run following a hit-by-pitch in the first inning and swiped a pair of bags after walking in the third. The shortstop stole a career-high 31 bases last year but had been quiet in that category coming into Wednesday with just four thefts through 41 games. That's been part of a slow start overall for Lindor, who is slashing a meager .200/.276/.376 across 185 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Clubs seventh homer
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to Atlanta. The veteran shortstop took Charlie Morton deep in the seventh inning to get the Mets on the board, but they were already facing a 4-0 deficit at that point. Lindor has had a good start to May, batting .276 (8-for-29) through eight games with 10 RBI, but on the season he still carries a disappointing .212/.282/.404 slash line with seven homers, four steals, 21 RBI and 22 runs in 37 contests.... Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swats first-inning homer
Lindor went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Rays. Lindor got the Mets on the board right away, clubbing a two-run shot off Ryan Pepiot as the third batter of the game. The long ball was Lindor's sixth of the season and marked his third time logging multiple RBI in his last four games. During that stretch, the shortstop is 5-for-17 (.294) with eight RBI and four extra-base hits.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Two doubles, four RBI off the bench
Lindor (illness) went 2-for-3 with a pair of two-run doubles and a run scored in Thursday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Cubs. Lindor was held out of the lineup Thursday after departing Wednesday's contest with an illness. However, he'd come off the bench as a pinch hitter for Joey Wendle in the sixth inning, pulling a two-run double to cut the Mets' deficit to 5-4. Lindor would then deliver his biggest hit so far this season in the 11th, doubling down the left-field line to drive in two more and give New York a 7-6 walk-off victory. Lindor's struggles early this year have been well documented, though he's starting to show signs of turning things around at the plate -- the 30-year-old shortstop's gone 9-for-29 with three doubles and three home runs in his last eight contests. Lindor's now slashing .207/.287/.380 through 136 plate appearances with five home runs, 17 runs scored, 15 RBI and four stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Held out with illness
Lindor (illness) is out of the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Cubs. Lindor was removed from Wednesday's 1-0 loss due to an illness and will now miss his first start of the season Thursday. He'll hope to be ready for Friday's series opener in Tampa Bay. Joey Wendle will fill in for Lindor at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Removed early Wednesday
Lindor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs after exhibiting flu-like symptoms, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. Lindor was feeling sick ahead of the third inning and was replaced at shortstop by Joey Wendle, who could be in line to start Thursday's series finale if Lindor isn't feeling better by then. The 30-year-old All-Star went 0-for-1 before leaving Wednesday's game and now carries a .195 average on the year.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Showcases power, speed
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two stolen bases during Sunday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals. Lindor notched his fourth homer over the last nine games, tagging Lance Lynn for a solo shot in the sixth frame. The shortstop also notched the 14th multi-steal game of his career, marking his second and third pilfers of the campaign. During his last nine appearances, Lindor is batting .306 with nine RBI and six runs scored.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Smacks two homers in win
Lindor went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants. Lindor provided most of the offense for the Mets on Wednesday, launching a two-run homer in the top of the third to put New York on the board before adding a second two-run shot in the ninth. The shortstop finished with season highs in hits and RBI, raising his average to .206 in the process. Lindor has gotten off to a slow start to begin the campaign but has now registered multiple hits in five of his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Tallies second homer
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers. Lindor cracked a 390-foot two-run homer off Daniel Hudson in the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead for good -- his first extra-base hit of the year while hitting left-handed. After opening the season with a dreadful 1-for-31 stretch, the Mets shortstop has started to look better at the plate lately. Lindor is batting .255 (12-for-47) with two homers, 10 runs scored and three RBI over his last 11 games.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: On base three times Monday
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Monday's win over the Pirates. It's been a tough start to the campaign for the shortstop, but Lindor is beginning to come around. He's delivered back-to-back two-hit games, and over the last eight contests he's batting .257 (9-for-35) with two doubles, a homer, four RBI, six runs and a sharp 4:1 BB:K.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Should be restriction-free for camp
Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns implied Monday that Lindor (elbow) is fully healthy ahead of spring training, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Stearns noted that lefty David Peterson (hip), infielder Ronny Mauricio (knee) and right-hander Kyle Crick (calf) are the only players who will be held out of drills to begin camp, which suggests that Lindor has a clean bill of health after he underwent surgery in October to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. The injury didn't cost Lindor any time in 2023, with the 30-year-old finishing his third season with the Mets with a .254/.336/.470 slash line to go with 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases over 160 games.... Mets' Francisco Lindor: Elbow surgery to remove bone spur
Lindor underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Per Andy Martino of SNY.tv, Lindor first began feeling the effects of the injury during spring training and played through some discomfort all season. He is expected to be fully ready for the beginning of spring training. The veteran shortstop had his first-ever 30-30 season in 2023, hitting 31 home runs and stealing 31 bases while slashing .254/.336/.470.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Huge day in twin bill
Lindor went 4-for-7 with two walks, three home runs and six RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Marlins. The shortstop took Braxton Garrett deep for a two-run shot in the matinee as the Mets romped to an 11-2 victory before accounting for his team's only offense in the nightcap with solo shots off Johnny Cueto in the second and fourth innings. The power display has given Lindor his first 30-homer season since 2019 as well as his first career 30-30 campaign, and he needs just four more RBI over New York's final four games to add his second straight 100-RBI season to his ledger as well.... Mets' Francisco Lindor: First 30-steal campaign
Lindor went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Thursday's loss to the Phillies. The shortstop's bat has slowed down in September -- Lindor's slashing .257/.325/.392 through 83 plate appearances -- but he's remained busy on the basepaths with four steals in his last four games, giving him 30 in a season for the first time in his career. Lindor still has an outside shot at a 30-30 campaign, but he would need four homers in the Mets' final nine contests to pull it off.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Nabs steal No. 25
Lindor went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mariners. The shortstop scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, poking a leadoff single before stealing his 25th bag of the season and coming home on a Daniel Vogelbach hit. Lindor has now tied his career high in stolen bases, a mark he initially set in 2018 with Cleveland, and since the beginning of August he's slashing .303/.367/.440 with three homers, eight steals, 14 RBI and 21 runs in 28 games.... Lindor also extended his hitting streak to 11 games in the process, a stretch in which he's slashing .386/.438/.614 with two homers, three steals, nine RBI and 11 runs. The shortstop is now creeping closer to his first 30-homer campaign since 2019 and first in a New York uniform -- he's six away, with 33 games left on the Mets' schedule.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Homers, extends hit streak to eight
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-4 victory over Atlanta. Lindor remained locked in at the plate Monday, extending his hitting streak to eight games with a fifth-inning single and later adding a three-run homer to extend New York's lead to 10-4 in the sixth. The 29-year-old switch hitter registered three batted balls with exit velocities over 100 mph, including a flyout to the center-field fence in the first inning. During Lindor's hitting streak, he's batting .400 (14-for-35) with one home run, eight RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases.... See More ... See Less -

Mets' Francisco Lindor: Hits 20-20 mark in win
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 7-2 win over the Pirates. With his steal Monday, Lindor reached the 20-20 threshold for the third time in his career. The 29-year-old shortstop has heated up of late, going 20-for-55 (.364) with a 1.053 OPS over his last 15 games. Overall, Lindor is slashing .245/.333/.465 with 22 homers, 70 RBI and 74 runs scored across 502 plate appearances this season while going 20-for-22 on stolen base attempts.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swipes 19th bag
Lindor went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in a 6-0 loss to Atlanta during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. The shortstop missed both Friday's contest and the first game of Saturday's twin bill after complaining of soreness on his right side, but an MRI came back negative and Lindor seemed to have no issues running in his return to action, beating out a potential double-play grounder in the first inning and then promptly stealing second base. Lindor is now one stolen base short of the third 20-20 campaign of his career, and his first as a Met -- his last came in 2019 with Cleveland.... See More ... See Less

Anthony DiComo@AnthonyDiComo7H agoJeff McNeil was down and in pain for some time after fouling a ball off his left knee. He very slowly rose to his feet and is staying in the game. Remember, the Mets don't have a true backup middle infielder on the roster right now.
