Drury (hamstring) said Wednesday that he is aiming to return from the injured list June 11, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Drury has been making steady progress since landing on the injured list May 9 due to a left hamstring injury. He got back to hitting in batting cages last week and recently began baseball activities and a running progression. The 31-year-old infielder will likely embark on a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated, though the Angels have not said when that might begin.... See More ... See Less

Angels' Brandon Drury: Hitting in batting cage
Drury (hamstring) will hit in the batting cage Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Drury is ready to begin reincorporating baseball activities as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain. Running will certainly be a bigger test than hitting, though, and it's not clear when he might be ready to do that.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Placed on injured list
Drury (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday. Drury exited Wednesday's game after dealing with tightness in his hamstring, an issue he first dealt with in mid-April. He'll be sidelined for at least the next 10 days, leaving Luis Guillorme as the Angels' projected starting second baseman in the short term.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Exits game with tight hamstring
Drury was removed from Wednesday's game against the Pirates after six innings due to left hamstring tightness. He went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run and one RBI prior to departing. Drury previously contended with the same injury back in mid-April. He missed a few games with the hamstring injury at the time, and he may not have fully healed up from the injury. Manager Ron Washington should have more information about Drury's condition following the completion of Wednesday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Added to Monday's lineup
Drury will start at second base and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Pirates, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Drury was initially slated to receive the day off, but he'll end up handling his usual role as the starting second baseman after Luis Rengifo (illness) was scratched. The 31-year-old Drury heads into Monday's contest in a 2-for-31 funk at the plate over his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Absent from lineup
Drury is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Drury played the last two games after missing the two contests before that with a migraine. He's also missed time recently with a hamstring issue and has managed just two hits in his last 31 at-bats. Luis Rengifo will replace Drury at second base Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Back in action Saturday
Drury (migraine) is starting at second base and batting fifth Saturday against Cleveland, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. A migraine has kept Drury out of the Angels' last two games, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old has been in a slump at the plate recently, going just 2-for-23 across his last seven games.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Sidelined again Friday
Drury (migraine) isn't part of Friday's lineup against the Guardians. Drury was scratched from Wednesday's contest due to a migraine, and the issue still appears to be lingering. Luis Rengifo will make another start at second base with Ehire Adrianza over at third.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Scratched due to migraine
The Angels scratched Drury from the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies due to migraine. Drury had been in line to bat cleanup and start at second base before the migraine surfaced shortly before first pitch. Luis Rengifo will slide over from third base and start at the keystone in Drury's stead, while Ehire Adrianza was added to the lineup to start at third base.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Back in starting lineup Friday
Drury (hamstring) is starting as the designated hitter and batting fifth in Friday's game against the Twins, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. After returning to action for all three games against the Reds last weekend, Drury missed the past three contests against the Orioles due to a lingering left hamstring injury. The three-game absence, along with the Angels' off day Thursday, seems to have done the trick for Drury, as he'll start at DH for the series opener Friday versus Minnesota. The 31-year-old is slashing .194/.270/.269 with two doubles, six runs, one home run and four RBI over 74 plate appearances to begin the season.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Hamstring injury lingering
Angels manager Ron Washington said Wednesday that Drury is still feeling soreness from the left hamstring injury he sustained last week, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Drury is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles for a third straight game, although Washington said the 31-year-old is available to pinch hit. The Angels are off Thursday, so Drury could be ready to return to the lineup Friday versus the Twins. Luis Rengifo will likely continue to play second base until Drury is ready to play the field again.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Absent from lineup again
Drury is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Drury missed three games last week with a hamstring injury before returning to play three straight contests over the weekend. However, he's now been absent from the lineup for all three games of the series against Baltimore, so it's fair to wonder whether the hamstring injury could be lingering or if he's simply being phased out amid his slow start to the season. Drury has struggled to a .547 OPS over 73 plate appearances thus far.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Absent from lineup again
Drury is not in the lineup versus the Orioles on Tuesday. Drury took a seat in Monday's game versus the Orioles after returning to the lineup Friday. The second baseman was dealing with a hamstring injury prior to playing in all three contests of the weekend against the Reds. This marks the second consecutive game he will not start, with Luis Rengifo starting at second and batting eighth Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Taking seat Monday
Drury is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles. Drury returned from a three-day absence with a hamstring injury to play all three contests of the weekend series versus the Reds, but he'll get a break Monday. Ehire Adrianza will be at second base Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Returns to lineup Friday
Drury (hamstring) will be the designated hitter and bat fifth for Friday's game in Cincinnati. Drury missed three games with tightness in his left hamstring, but he's ready to at least hit Friday against one of his former teams. The 31-year-old has gotten off to a slow start at the plate for the Angels this season, putting up a .570 OPS with one home run in 16 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Won't start Wednesday, Thursday
Drury won't start and will only be available to pinch hit Wednesday and Thursday against the Rays due to left hamstring tightness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Drury may still be used as supplementary help with batting, but he will miss his third straight start come Thursday. Though his ability to still pinch hit if necessary is encouraging, the Angels are being cautious with the 31-year-old's hamstring issue, and it is still unknown if he will return to the field Friday against the Reds.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Out again Wednesday
Drury (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Tampa Bay, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Drury will miss a second straight start with a hamstring issue. He declared himself available to play off the bench Tuesday, so it would seem fair to call Drury day-to-day. The Angels will deploy Luis Rengifo at second base and Nolan Schanuel at first base Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Available off bench
Drury (hamstring) said he will be available off the bench Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Drury is not in the lineup after having to exit Monday's game with a hamstring issue. However, he tested out the hamstring with a pregame workout and contends that he's fine to play, if needed. Luis Rengifo is at second base Tuesday and Miguel Sano is at first.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Sitting out with hamstring issue
Drury is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rays after exiting Monday's contest with a hamstring injury, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. It's unclear at this point whether it could potentially be a multi-game absence for Drury, who was lifted for a pinch runner Monday following his last plate appearance. For now, consider him day-to-day. Luis Rengifo is handling second base Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Brandon Drury: Belts first homer of 2024
Drury went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox. Drury notched his first home run of 2024, tagging starter Brayan Bello for a solo shot in the second inning. Sunday's contest also marked Drury's second multi-hit game of the season. The second baseman has logged a hit in five of his last six games but still owns a poor .196 batting average through 14 outings.... See More ... See Less
