Gunnar Henderson BAL SS
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Slugs league-leading 14th homer
43m agoHenderson went 1-for-3 with his major league-leading 14th home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
Not only was it flamethrowing reliever Andres Munoz who Henderson took deep in the ninth inning, but he did so to the opposite field and over the 13-foot wall in left field in an impressive showing of power. It cut the Mariners' lead to one at the time, but that was as close as the Orioles would get. It was the second game in a row with a homer for Henderson, who also drew a pair of walks Saturday.
-
Andres Munoz SEA RP
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Nails down save No. 8
1h agoMunoz allowed a run but hung on to notch his eighth save of the season in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.
Gunnar Henderson made things interesting with a two-out, solo home run, but Munoz quickly bounced back in setting down Adley Rutschman swinging to end it. Henderson's long ball represents the only run Munoz has allowed over his last 10 appearances, and he boasts a 15:1 K:BB over 12 innings during that span.
-
Grayson Rodriguez BAL SP
Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez: Dazzles in return from injured list
1h agoRodriguez didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners, yielding just one hit and three walks over six shutout innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.
Rodriguez missed a little more than two weeks with right shoulder inflammation and made his return Saturday without going out on a rehab assignment first. He certainly showed that he didn't need one, as didn't give up his first and only hit on the night until there was one out in the sixth inning (and even that was just an infield single). Rodriguez was limited to just 82 pitches in his first start back, but he still managed to complete six frames because he was so efficient. The righty displayed his normal velocity and induced 13 swinging strikes on his 82 pitches. Rodriguez missed out on a win after the Orioles' bullpen struggled, but he looked as good as his fantasy managers could have hoped for.
-
Luis Castillo SEA SP
Mariners' Luis Castillo: Mixed bag in no-decision
1h agoCastillo did not factor into the decision Saturday in Baltimore, permitting two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out two.
The four walks were a season high and the two strikeouts were by far a season low for Castillo. He still managed a seven straight quality start, though, keeping his team in it before the Mariners' offense rallied late. It's the first no-decision of the season for Castillo, who is just 4-5 in spite of a 3.28 ERA, including a 2.01 mark across his last seven outings.
-
Kevin Gausman TOR SP
Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Tosses quality start Saturday
2h agoGausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.
The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season. He'll take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 43:11 K:BB through 42.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Detroit.
-
Jonny DeLuca TB CF
Rays' Jonny DeLuca: Leads comeback win
2h agoDeLuca went 1-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays.
After drawing a walk and coming around to score in the sixth inning as part of a three-run rally that got the Rays on the board, DeLuca turned on a 97.3 mph fastball from Nate Pearson in the eighth inning and launched it over the left-field fence for the game-winning hit. DeLuca has begun to see his playing time slip as Tampa Bay's roster has gotten healthier, but through 15 games this season he still sports a .300/.404/.550 slash line with two homers, three steals, six runs and 12 RBI.
-
Jake Rogers DET C
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Not starting Saturday
6h agoRogers isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against Arizona.
Rogers has gone 0-for-9 and struck out five times across his past three games, so the Tigers will turn to Carson Kelly on Saturday in hopes of getting more offensive output from their catcher.
-
Travis d'Arnaud ATL C
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sitting down Saturday
7h agoD'Arnaud (head) isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.
D'Arnaud exited Friday's contest with dizziness after taking a foul ball off his facemask, but he was cleared of a concussion immediately after the game. As a precaution, Atlanta will give the 35-year-old backstop the next two days off, but he is available to play in an emergency situation, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Chadwick Tromp will fill in behind the dish Saturday and Sunday.
-
Keibert Ruiz WAS C
Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Not starting Saturday
8h agoRuiz isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.
Ruiz is slashing just .147/.190/.221 through 100 plate appearances on the year, so he will give way to Riley Adams on Saturday as the Nats look for more production at the plate from their catcher.
-
Blake Sabol SF C
Giants' Blake Sabol: Sits down versus lefty
9h agoSabol isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
Left-hander Ty Blach will start on the mound for Colorado, meaning the lefty-hitting Sabol will begin Saturday's contest on the bench. Curt Casali will start instead behind the dish while batting ninth.
-
Elias Diaz COL C
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Sitting third straight
9h agoDiaz (hand) isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.
Left hand soreness will cause Diaz to miss his third game in a row Saturday. The Rockies haven't made any indication that the 33-year-old backstop is trending toward an IL stint, but he may have to spend time on the injured list if his condition doesn't improve within the next couple of days. Hunter Goodman will start behind the plate and bat eighth while Diaz recovers.
-
Ben Rortvedt TB C
Rays' Ben Rortvedt: Sitting down Saturday
10h agoRortvedt isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Rortvedt will take a seat after going 0-for-4 with a run scored and two strikeouts during Friday's series opener. Alex Jackson will take over behind the plate while batting eighth.
-
Josh Bell MIA 1B
Marlins' Josh Bell: Big homer off Diaz in comeback win
2h agoBell went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 10-9 victory over the Mets.
Bell had two singles -- including one that drove in a run -- when he strolled to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning to face Edwin Diaz as the tying run. He then swatted one 428 feet for a three-run home run to knot things up before the Marlins eventually won in the 10th. Bell's home run -- which was his sixth of the season -- was measured at 107.9 mph off the bat. The first baseman is 10-for-25 with two long balls over his last six tilts.
-
LaMonte Wade SF 1B
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Idle against lefty
9h agoWade isn't in the Giants' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
Wade will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout as left-hander Ty Blach prepares to toe the slab for Colorado. As a result. Wilmer Flores will pick up a start at first base while batting third.
-
Ryan Mountcastle BAL 1B
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Gets breather Saturday
10h agoMountcastle isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.
Mountcastle will get a day to regroup Saturday after going 1-for-16 across his last four games. While he sits, Ryan O'Hearn will pick up a start at first base while Anthony Santander serves as Baltimore's DH, opening up a spot in the outfield for Austin Hays.
-
Rowdy Tellez PIT 1B
Pirates' Rowdy Tellez: Out against southpaw
10h agoTellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday versus the Cubs.
Tellez will take a seat Saturday with lefty Shota Imanaga starting on the mound for Chicago. Connor Joe will start at first base and bat third.
-
Michael Busch CHC 1B
Cubs' Michael Busch: Idle versus lefty
10h agoBusch isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
With lefty Bailey Falter set to start on the mound for the Bucs, the left-handed bat of Busch will remain in Chicago's dugout. His absence will give Patrick Wisdom an opportunity to start at first while batting leadoff.
-
Jake Cronenworth SD 1B
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Tallies three hits
1d agoCronenworth went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.
Cronenworth knocked three singles to collect his fourth three-hit performance of 2024. After beginning the campaign hitting .263 (30-for-114) through April 30, the Padres first baseman has kicked into a higher gear in May, starting the month by hitting .302 (16-for-53). Overall, Cronenworth is slashing .275/.342/.473 with seven homers and 28 RBI in 190 plate appearances this season.
-
Edouard Julien MIN 2B
Twins' Edouard Julien: Resting versus LHP
6h agoJulien isn't in the Twins' lineup Saturday versus Cleveland.
With lefty Logan Allen set to take the mound for the Guardians, Julien and his career .545 OPS against southpaws will stay put in Minnesota's dugout. Kyle Farmer will get the nod to start at second base instead and bat eighth.
-
Kyren Paris LAA 2B
Angels' Kyren Paris: Sitting Saturday
7h agoParis is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Rangers.
Paris will take a seat after he went 1-for-5 with two RBI in Friday's 9-3 win. Luis Guillorme will take over at second base and bat eighth against Texas.
-
Luis Garcia WAS 2B
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Remains out Saturday
8h agoGarcia (heel) isn't in the Nationals' lineup Saturday against the Phillies.
Garcia was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to a heel injury, and he will take another day to recover Saturday. Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at the keystone and bat second.
-
Jonathan Aranda TB 2B
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Hits bench Saturday
9h agoAranda isn't in the Rays' lineup Saturday versus the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Aranda has gone 3-for-13 with three runs scored since coming off the injured list Tuesday, and he'll now get his first day off since returning. His absence will allow Harold Ramirez to serve as the Rays' designated hitter, batting third.
-
Jorge Polanco SEA 2B
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Remains out Saturday
10h agoPolanco (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Orioles.
Polanco will remain on the bench for a fourth consecutive game as he continues to nurse right hamstring soreness. Josh Rojas will draw another start at second base and bat leadoff against Baltimore.
-
Nico Hoerner CHC 2B
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Out again Saturday
10h agoHoerner (hamstring) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.
Saturday marks the fifth game in a row that Hoerner has missed due to a sore left hamstring. The Cubs have been hopeful that the infielder would be able to avoid the injured list, but manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Hoerner may need to spend time on the IL if his hamstring continues to bother him. Nick Madrigal and Miles Mastrobuoni will once again serve as the Cubs' middle infielders Saturday.
-
Matt Chapman SF 3B
Giants' Matt Chapman: Four-hit game Saturday
3h agoChapman went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Rockies.
Chapman doubled and singled twice and also stole his fifth base of the season as he filled the stat sheet. The veteran third baseman had three hits and a steal in Friday's contest, as well, so perhaps he's finally starting to turn the corner. Chapman had been demoted to as low as seventh in the Giants' batting order earlier this month, but he's hit cleanup for the last two games.
-
Brett Harris OAK 3B
Athletics' Brett Harris: Breather Saturday
7h agoHarris is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Royals.
Harris will take a seat after he went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Friday's series opener. The 25-year-old is in the midst of an 0-for-10 stretch at the plate and Abraham Toro will draw the start at third base and bat leadoff against Kansas City.
-
Josh Jung TEX 3B
Rangers' Josh Jung: Return delayed multiple weeks
7h agoJung (wrist) still appears to be at least six weeks from returning to the lineup, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Jung has yet to pick up a bat after undergoing surgery on his right wrist April 2 and is expected to be reevaluated in another 10-to-14 days before being cleared to start taking swings. The initial timeline for his return was 6-to-8 weeks, which was later adjusted to 10-to-12 weeks, and he now appears to be tracking toward the latter end of that estimation, if not later. The repair of his fractured wrist proved to be trickier than initially anticipated, and Texas will likely be cautious in its approach with the budding star at third base, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him back until late June or early July.
-
Austin Riley ATL 3B
Braves' Austin Riley: Missing fifth straight
7h agoRiley (side) isn't in Atlanta's lineup for Saturday's game versus San Diego.
Riley said Saturday that he is feeling better, per Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but he has yet to resume swinging a bat. The 27-year-old infielder also noted that the team has not talked with him about a potential move to the injured list; however, Riley wouldn't say that he would be back in time for the start of Atlanta's upcoming series with the Cubs on Tuesday. Zack Short, who will start at third base and bat seventh Saturday, has served as Atlanta's third baseman since Riley went down and should continue to do so until the slugger recovers.
-
Oswald Peraza NYY 3B
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Headed to Triple-A
10h agoPeraza (shoulder) was transferred to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to continue his rehab assignment Saturday.
Peraza went 2-for-16 with two solo home runs, four runs scored and a stolen base over 16 at-bats in five games with Double-A Somerset, and he'll now advance to the final step of his recovery from the shoulder injury he suffered in February. The 23-year-old could return to the Yankees at some point during their four-game series with the Mariners beginning Monday.
-
Brett Baty NYM 3B
Mets' Brett Baty: Not starting versus lefty
10h agoBaty isn't in the Mets' lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.
With left-hander Braxton Garrett set to take the mound for Miami, the lefty-hitting Baty will step out of the lineup in favor of Mark Vientos, who will start at third and bat fifth.
-

Mookie Betts LAD SS
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Getting rare day off
7h agoBetts isn't in the Dodgers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.
After starting 47 consecutive games and posting an incredible .341/.440/.562 slash line to begin the year, Betts will step out of the lineup for the first time all season. Miguel Rojas will instead start at shortstop while batting ninth.
-
Dansby Swanson CHC SS
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Expected back Tuesday
8h agoThe Cubs expect to reinstate Swanson (knee) from the injured list Tuesday, Patrick Mooney of The Athletic reports.
Swanson took live batting practice Friday for the first time since landing on the injured list May 10 with a right knee injury, and he appears to be trending toward a slightly-longer-than-minimum IL stint. He will almost certainly reclaim his role as Chicago's everyday shortstop once he returns, though the 30-year-old infielder had gone just 1-for-18 with a solo home run in his last six games prior to getting injured.
-
Zachary Neto LAA SS
Angels' Zach Neto: Launches homer Friday
10h agoNeto went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-3 win against the Rangers on Friday.
Neto broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning with a 405-foot, two-run blast to left field. The shortstop has homered in consecutive contests after going deep just once through his first 13 games in May. Neto is enjoying a strong month overall, slashing .308/.345/.519 with three homers, five RBI, seven runs and two stolen bases over 15 contests.
-
Oneil Cruz PIT SS
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Sitting versus lefty
10h agoCruz isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Cubs.
Left-hander Shota Imanaga will start on the mound Saturday for Chicago, meaning the lefty-hitting Cruz will step out of the lineup. Alika Williams will fill the opening at shortstop while batting ninth.
-
Mookie Betts LAD SS
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Belts another leadoff homer
22h agoBetts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Reds.
Betts' last two homers have been of the leadoff variety, and they're his only two long balls in May. He's hitting .283 this month, dropping his season-long batting average to a still-stunning .341 through 47 contests. Betts has added eight homers, 29 RBI, 40 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples over 218 plate appearances while serving as the everyday leadoff hitter.

Juan Soto NYY RF
Yankees' Juan Soto: Goes yard twice against ChiSox
2h agoSoto went 4-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.
The 25-year-old had his best game yet as a Yankee, taking Brad Keller deep in the first and fifth innings. It was Soto's first multi-hit performance, and first long balls, since May 8, and through 47 games on the season he carries a .317/.414/.561 slash line with 11 homers, four steals, 32 runs and 37 RBI.
-
Luis Matos SF CF
Giants' Luis Matos: Stays hot with six-RBI day
3h agoMatos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Rockies.
Matos drove in a career-high five runs in Friday's series opener and then one-upped himself Saturday. He got the scoring going in this one with a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The youngster then followed that with an RBI double in his next trip to the dish before capping off his night with a two-RBI single. Matos is just the fourth Giants player ever to notch consecutive five-RBI games, and he has tallied a whopping 17 RBI in seven contests since being recalled. While he had just a .661 OPS with the Giants last season and a .663 OPS this year at Triple-A Sacramento, keep in mind that Matos is a former top prospect who just turn 22 in January. At the very least, he's become a guy who needs to be rostered in five-outfielder leagues.
-
Alex Kirilloff MIN LF
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Not starting versus lefty
6h agoKirilloff isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

-
Max Kepler MIN RF
Twins' Max Kepler: Sitting down versus lefty
6h agoKepler isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.
Left-hander Logan Allen will toe the slab for Cleveland on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Kepler will retreat to the bench. Manuel Margot will take over in right field and bat sixth.
-
Tyler Nevin OAK RF
Athletics' Tyler Nevin: On bench Saturday
7h agoNevin will sit Saturday versus Kansas City.
Nevin will take a seat after going 0-for-2 with a walk in the team's 6-2 loss in the series opener Friday. Seth Brown will draw the start in right field and bat seventh against the Royals.

-
Zach Eflin TB SP
Rays' Zach Eflin: Escapes with no-decision Saturday
2h agoEflin came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays, giving up four runs on nine hits over six innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.
After keeping Toronto hitters in check the first time through the order, things went off the rails for Eflin in the fourth and fifth innings, putting the Rays in a 4-0 hole that they eventually climbed out of. The right-hander did manage to keep the ball in the yard, snapping a streak of four straight starts in which he'd served up a homer. Eflin will take a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and stellar 44:4 K:BB through 59 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Royals.
-
Shota Imanaga CHC SP
Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Makes history in no-decision
2h agoImanaga came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates, scattering four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
The 30-year-old lefty was locked in a pitcher's duel with Bailey Falter, preventing either starter from getting a decision, but Imanaga still impressed. He generated 22 swinging strikes among his 88 pitches, and he now sports a 0.84 ERA -- the lowest mark in history through a pitcher's first nine career MLB starts. Imanaga will also take a 0.91 WHIP and 58:9 K:BB through 53.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in St. Louis.

Bryce Elder ATL SP
Braves' Bryce Elder: San Diego-Atlanta postponed Sat.
2h agoElder and Atlanta will not play Saturday after their game versus the Padres was postponed due to inclement weather.
The teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader Monday. Elder will now start on Sunday instead, with Atlanta's scheduled starter for that day, Reynaldo Lopez, moving to Monday.
-
Andres Munoz SEA RP
Mariners' Andres Munoz: Nails down save No. 8
1h agoMunoz allowed a run but hung on to notch his eighth save of the season in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.
Gunnar Henderson made things interesting with a two-out, solo home run, but Munoz quickly bounced back in setting down Adley Rutschman swinging to end it. Henderson's long ball represents the only run Munoz has allowed over his last 10 appearances, and he boasts a 15:1 K:BB over 12 innings during that span.
-
Garrett Cleavinger TB RP
Rays' Garrett Cleavinger: Notches third save
2h agoCleavinger struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his third save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Pete Fairbanks had pitched three of the prior four days and Jason Adam worked the eighth inning Saturday to collect his 10th hold, so closing duties fell to Cleavinger. The southpaw didn't disappoint, firing 11 of 14 pitches for strikes as he dispatched Toronto's 8-9-1 hitters. Cleavinger is the top lefty in the Tampa Bay bullpen, which will likely lead to other save chances as matchups dictate, but Fairbanks remains the primary high-leverage option for manager Kevin Cash. Through 18.2 innings this season, Cleavinger sports a 1.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB.
-
Brad Keller CHW RP
White Sox's Brad Keller: Can't keep ball in yard Saturday
2h agoKeller (0-2) took the loss Saturday as the White Sox were downed 6-1 by the Yankees, coughing up six runs (five earned) on seven hits -- including four home runs -- and a walk over four-plus innings. He struck out four.
The right-hander served up a pair of homers to Juan Soto in the first and fifth innings, with Jose Trevino and Giancarlo Stanton taking Keller deep in between. Troubles keeping the ball in the park are nothing new for him, as he got tagged for 35 home runs over 273.1 innings in 2021-22 while with the Royals. Keller's spot in the White Sox rotation is my no means secure, but if he takes his next scheduled turn at home next week against the Orioles, he'll carry a 4.86 ERA and 1.38 WHIP to the mound.
-
Edwin Diaz NYM RP
Mets' Edwin Diaz: Melts down in Miami
3h agoDiaz allowed four runs on four hits while recording just one out in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.
The Mets handed the ball to Diaz with a four-run advantage in the bottom of the ninth inning. He permitted a leadoff double and watched that run come around on a one-out single. Another single put two runners on and Josh Bell cashed them and himself in when he sent a ball 428 feet to center field for a three-run homer. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza pulled Diaz at that point. While this didn't officially go down as a blown save, it continued an ugly stretch for Diaz, who has allowed 10 runs over his last eight appearances covering 8.1 frames. When asked after the game about a potential change at closer, Mendoza didn't dismiss it, per Mike Puma of the New York Post. Diaz himself even said he'd be open to working in low-leverage spots for a while as he tries to get back on track. If Mendoza does opt to switch things up, Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino look to be the top candidates to step in at closer.
-
Ty Blach COL RP
Rockies' Ty Blach: Roughed up in San Fran
4h agoBlach (1-2) took the loss Saturday in San Francisco, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out three.
The Giants tallied 18 hits and 14 runs in this one, with Blach and reliever Nick Mears (six runs in two-thirds of an inning) absorbing the big blows. Blach was given another start after holding the Rangers to one run over five innings his last time out, but he might be headed back to long relief after this effort. If he does get another turn, it would likely come next week at home versus the Phillies.
-
Evan Phillips LAD RP
Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Throws bullpen session
5h agoPhillips (hamstring) threw another bullpen session Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Saturday marks Phillips' second round of mound work since landing on the IL on May 5 with a strained right hamstring. He still has yet to face live hitters, but manager Dave Roberts said after Phillips' session that the right-hander is roughly a week away from rejoining Los Angeles' bullpen.
-
Trevor Larnach MIN DH
Twins' Trevor Larnach: Riding pine against lefty
6h agoLarnach isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.
The lefty-hitting Larnach will step out of the lineup as the Twins prepare to face southpaw Logan Allen. Ryan Jeffers will move into the DH spot as a result, allowing Christian Vazquez to start at catcher while batting ninth.
-
Tyler Heineman BOS DH
Red Sox's Tyler Heineman: Activated, optioned to Triple-A
10h agoHeineman (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Saturday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Heineman has been out since April 23 with a right hamstring strain, but he'll now return to regular action at Triple-A. The catcher has produced a .235 average with a double, three RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases over 34 at-bats in 12 games with Worcester this season. Both Connor Wong and Reese McGuire are healthy at the major-league level, but Heineman is likely the next man up if Boston needs another backstop down the road.

Giancarlo Stanton NYY DH
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Mashes homer No. 10
13h agoStanton went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the White Sox.
He crushed a Tanner Banks fastball down the left-field line on the first pitch he saw to lead off the sixth inning. Stanton has stayed healthy so far this season and is already at 10 long balls through 39 games, giving him a shot at his first 40-homer campaign since 2017 if he can avoid length injury absences. His 33.5 percent strikeout rate -- which would be the worst mark of his career if it doesn't come down -- indicates how one-dimensional the 34-year-old has become at this stage of his career, however.

Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Goes deep again Friday
22h agoOhtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Reds.
Ohtani reclaimed a share of the major-league lead in homers with his 13th long ball of the year, which came off Frankie Montas in the third inning. Over his last 12 games, Ohtani's slugged six homers with 12 RBI and seven multi-hit efforts. He's slashing an electrifying .358/.426/.676 with 32 RBI, 36 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 16 doubles and a triple through 204 plate appearances while occupying the No. 2 spot in the Dodgers' stacked lineup.

Alec Burleson STL DH
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Clubs fifth homer
23h agoBurleson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.
Burleson popped a go-ahead solo shot in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the seventh. The 25-year-old has multiple hits in three straight games, which is only strengthening his claim for playing time between designated hitter, the corner outfield spots and first base. Burleson is up to five homers, 17 RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base and a .286/.316/.473 slash line through 117 plate appearances this season.

Mitch Garver SEA DH
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Drives in run in return
23h agoGarver (back) went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.
Garver was back in the lineup after missing the last two games with back spasms, and he delivered the first run of the contest with his first-inning single. The veteran offseason addition now has seven RBI in May and has reached safely in eight of the last 10 games, but he's still carrying an abysmal .176/.286/.344 slash line across 147 plate appearances on the season.
