  • Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Nabs win as primary pitcher

Wilson (3-1) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 relief innings in a 7-2 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out seven.

Jared Koenig got the nod as the opener but recorded only two outs and put two runners aboard before Wilson entered the game. Wilson struck out Tyler O'Neill to end the rally, the first of a season-high seven Ks for the 26-year-old right-hander as he generated 28 called or swinging strikes among his 80 pitches. In six trips to the mound since taking the place of DL Hall (knee) in the rotation, Wilson has posted a 2.67 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 30.1 innings, but Friday's win was his first in that stretch. Hall has worked only one-inning stints to begin his rehab assignment, perhaps signaling that Wilson's spot is secure even when the Brewers' staff gets healthier. Wilson lines up to make his next trip to the mound at home next week against the Cubs.

  • Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Could follow opener

Wilson isn't starting Friday against the Red Sox but is likely to follow opener Jared Koenig.

Wilson was initially listed as the Brewers' starter, a role he's jumped into with Milwaukee's rotation hampered by injuries, but Jared Koenig is now beginning the game on the mound instead. Considering Koenig hasn't worked more than 2.2 innings in a game this year, it's expected that he'll just open the contest, leaving Wilson to operate in long relief.

  • Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Falls just short of five frames

Wilson allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Saturday.

Wilson was given a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but he was pulled after giving up a one-out solo homer to Jake Meyers and a two-out single to Jose Altuve. The hook eliminated the right-hander's chance to qualify for the win, and it marked the second straight outing in which he's failed to go five frames. Still, Wilson has given up a tolerable four runs across 8.2 innings during those two contests, and he's recorded a 2.79 ERA across 38.2 innings on the season.

  • Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Struggles with command

Wilson allowed two runs on five hits and five walks over four-plus innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out one in the loss to St. Louis.

Wilson walked home a run in the second inning but managed to hold the Cardinals to one run through four frames. He was knocked out of the contest after coughing up a home run to Paul Goldschmidt and a double to Alec Burleson to begin the fifth inning. Wilson has produced a shaky 16:13 K:BB over his last four starts but owns a 2.21 ERA during that span. He's produced a 2.65 ERA through 34 innings this season. Wilson's currently projected to start in Houston next weekend.

  • Brewers' Bryse Wilson: No win in scoreless outing

Wilson allowed a hit and three walks over six shutout frames in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six while the Brewers lost to Kansas City.

Wilson was in line for a win before the Royals plated three runs in the seventh inning right after he left the contest. The lone hit he gave up was a single and Kansas City never posed much of a threat during his outing. He also generated a season-high 11 whiffs. Wilson dropped his ERA to 2.40 with a 27:10 K:BB through 30 innings. As things stand, he currently projects for a home matchup with St. Louis this weekend.
