Chourio will start in left field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Chourio was on the bench for a stretch of four straight games from last Wednesday through Saturday, but he's now picked up starts in each of the subsequent four contests. Though he's reached base only twice over his last nine contests and carries a weak .579 OPS for the season into Wednesday's game, Chourio could nonetheless continue to see near-everyday playing time while Jake Bauers sees less time in the corner outfield and fills in at first base for the injured Rhys Hoskins (hamstring). Additionally, the struggling Blake Perkins -- who sat against right-handed starting pitchers both of the previous two days -- seems to have moved into more of a fourth-outfielder role of late.

Chourio is absent from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Cardinals.
In three games since Christian Yelich returned from the injured list, Chourio has been out of the lineup each time, although he did get a couple plate appearances off the bench Wednesday. Yelich, Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins appear to be ahead of Chourio in the outfield pecking order, and Jake Bauers might be as well. The 20-year-old rookie is slashing just .205/.275/.397 through his first 25 MLB contests.

The rookie outfielder entered the contest with five strikeouts and no hits over his previous 11 plate appearances, but he busted out of that mini slump in a big way Saturday. Chourio has endured some ups and downs through his first 17 big-league games, but he's been productive overall with four homers, four steals, 13 RBI, 10 runs and a .719 OPS.

Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Goes deep, swipes bag
Chourio went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk in Monday's loss to San Diego.
Chourio belted a two-run shot in the second inning. It was his third long ball of the year and first since April 6. The highly-touted rookie knocked 22 homers with 44 steals in the minors last year and he displayed that impressive power-speed combo Monday. Chourio is now slashing .259/.305/.444 through 59 plate appearances.

Chourio went 1-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Reds while also drawing a walk.
Chourio drew a walk on five pitches to open the game and proceeded to steal second base before coming home on a Christian Yelich home run two batters later. The right-fielder would then go on to score a second time while also driving in two runs, the first on a single and the second on a sacrifice fly. Chourio has now hit safely in four consecutive games and in 10 of 11 contests overall to open the season. Additionally, he's also recorded at least one RBI in all but three games.
