Conley (Achilles) will play in Game 6 against the Nuggets on Thursday, head coach Chris Finch told Jack Borman of SB Nation. Finch also said the Wolves will be "mindful" of Conley's minutes after he missed Game 5 with an Achilles injury. Still, the veteran floor general will be out there in what could be the last game of the season for a Minnesota team that has lost three in a row against the defending champions. Conley is averaging 11.3 points, 7.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game during the current postseason run, and even though he'll have his minutes monitored, it would be shocking if he's not part of the starting lineup.... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Likely to play Thursday
Conley (Achilles) is expected to play in Thursday's Game 6 against the Nuggets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Conley is expected to return to action Thursday after missing Game 5 with right Achilles soreness. If the veteran guard is ultimately upgraded from questionable to available, he will likely reclaim his starting spot from Nickeil Alexander-Walker.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Present at shootaround
Conley (Achilles) is at Minnesota's shootaround ahead of Thursday's Game 6 against Denver, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Conley is listed as questionable for Thursday's contest after missing Game 5 with right Achilles soreness. While Conley's presence at shootaround is a good sign of his availability, the veteran guard was also at shootaround ahead of Game 5 before being ruled out.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Iffy for Game 6
Conley (Achilles) is questionable for Thursday's Game 6 against the Nuggets. Conley was a late addition to the injury report ahead of Game 5 due to right Achilles soreness and was ultimately unable to play, allowing Nickeil Alexander-Walker to get his first start of the postseason. If Conley is sidelined again, Monte Morris would be a candidate for double-digit minutes off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Ruled out for Game 5
Conley (Achilles) won't play in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Nuggets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Conley has been downgraded from questionable to out due to right Achilles soreness. In his absence, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Monte Morris will likely receive increased playing time. Conley's next chance to suit up is Game 6 on Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Late addition to injury report
Conley is questionable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Nuggets due to right Achilles soreness. Conley is a late addition to Minnesota's injury report but was active during the morning shootaround, per Dane Moore of 'The Dane Moore NBA Podcast'. The veteran point guard has averaged 11.9 points, 6.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 31.2 minutes during the postseason, so his potential absence would be a big blow in a critical road matchup. If Conley is downgraded to out, Monte Morris, Jordan McLaughlin and Nickeil Alexander-Walker would be candidates for increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Hands out nine dimes in Game 4 loss
Conley contributed 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 115-107 loss to Denver in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Conley didn't have his best shooting performance, but the veteran point guard keeps finding ways to contribute even when his shot isn't falling. He's now scored in double digits in three of the four games thus far while dishing out at least six assists each time.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Top distributor in double-double
Conley had 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, 10 assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 win over the Nuggets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Conley led all players in Saturday's Game 1 in assists while ending as one of four Timberwolves in double figures in scoring and as the lone player with a double-double in a winning effort. Conley, who connected on a team-high-tying trio of threes, reached double digits in assists for the first time this postseason, and he has recorded at least 10 points and seven dimes in three playoff outings.... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Vintage performance Tuesday
Conley ended Tuesday's 105-93 win over the Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 18 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals across 32 minutes. Conley assumed more responsibility on the offensive end of the floor to help lead Minnesota to the win. Despite not always putting up noteworthy production, Conley is a vital piece for the Timberwolves. He provides them with veteran leadership, as well as a cool head when the going gets tough. Minnesota will look to take a commanding lead in the series when the team lines up for Game 3 Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Delivers double-double Friday
Conley contributed 13 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, 10 assists and two steals over 31 minutes during Friday's 109-106 victory over the Hawks. Conley has been doing a good job as the Timberwolves' main playmaker out of the backcourt, and while his usage rate could decrease now that Karl-Anthony Towns is back in the mix, he remains a solid contributor, particularly in the assists category. Conley has scored in double digits in seven of his last 1o games, averaging 13.8 points and 5.9 assists per game in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Drills five threes in loss
Conley finished Wednesday's 116-107 loss to Denver with 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-9 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 30 minutes. Despite the loss, the Timberwolves have to be encouraged by Conley's recent stat lines. The veteran has also enjoyed a great attendance record during his first full season in Minneapolis, missing only six games during the 2023-24 campaign. Conley has 10 three-pointers over his last two games, and converted 55.6 percent of his long-range shots in the process.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Scores five points in return
Conley ended Friday's 97-87 loss to Phoenix with five points (1-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three assists over 25 minutes. Although Conley returned to the starting lineup, he was ineffective in the low-scoring loss, joining three other starters who failed to break the double-digit scoring barrier. Conley's not at risk of losing his starting role, but Nickeil Alexander-Walker had a solid result during his absence and scored 13 points off the bench during Friday's loss. At the very least, Alexander-Walker's usage is likely to increase, which could cut into Conley's usual load.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Cleared for Friday
Conley (rest) will be available for Friday's game against the Suns. The veteran had his 28-game active streak snapped Wednesday against Toronto as he was given a maintenance day. He'll likely reprise his usual role against the Suns, which means Nickeil Alexander-Walker is expected to return to the second unit.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Resting Wednesday
Conley has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Raptors due to rest purposes. Conley's absence will snap a 28-game streak of appearances. The last time the veteran was sidelined, Nickeil Alexander-Walker drew a start. Monte Morris and Jordan McLaughlin are also candidates for increased playing time in Conley's stead.... See More ... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Scores 19, hands out seven dimes
Conley posted 19 points (7-11 FG, 5-9 3Pt), one rebound, seven assists and four steals in 29 minutes during Sunday's 109-101 loss to the Bulls. Conley had a solid outing as a scorer and playmaker, but the rest of the offense wasn't sharp, as the Timberwolves barely reached the 100-point mark in this loss. The veteran floor general has been playing well lately, scoring in double digits in five of his last six games while dishing out five or more assists in each of those contests. Conley will aim to keep this run alive in a tough matchup against Fred VanVleet and the Rockets on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Shines in win over Cleveland
Conley finished with 21 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one block over 32 minutes during Friday's 104-91 victory over the Cavaliers. Conley has been playing well of late, and the veteran floor general is doing a great job of putting up solid numbers on offense, taking advantage of the fact that guys such as Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) and Rudy Gobert (ribs) have been forced to miss time in recent weeks. Conley's offensive surge is not likely to be sustainable in the long term, but fantasy managers who have him rostered are certainly reaping the benefits, as he's scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games.... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Strong from deep in season high
Conley posted 25 points (8-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 119-100 victory over the Jazz. Conley connected on a team-high-tying handful of threes while ending as one of two Timberwolves players with 25 or more points to boost the team offensively in a winning effort. Conley set a new season high in scoring, posting his second straight 20-point game. He has made five or more threes in five games this season, including in back-to-back outings.... See More ... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Drops 23 points in win
Conley produced 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 118-100 win over the Clippers. This was arguably Conley's best game of the season from an offensive perspective as he eclipsed 20 points for the first time. This performance could boost his confidence, as he's had a tough time in March. In those seven games, Conley has hit just 42.4 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from beyond the arc.... Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Strong effort in win Monday
Conley contributed 19 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 29 minutes during Monday's 119-114 victory over the Trail Blazers. Conley delivered a strong performance Monday, tying his best scoring mark of the season and chipping in with at least seven dimes for the third time across his last four appearances. Conley is averaging 10.9 points, 4.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game since the league resumed following the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Plays 36 minutes after injury scare
Conley (ankle) closed with 14 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Friday's 124-120 overtime loss to the Kings. Conley had to go to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury, but it appears the issue was minor. The veteran point guard finished with 36 minutes and played all five minutes of the overtime period. Conley's eight assists were his most since Feb. 8, and he's reached that mark 19 times this season. If Anthony Edwards (personal) is unavailable for Sunday's matchup against the Clippers, Conley may be asked to handle more offensive usage than usual.... See More ... See Less
