The Chiefs waived Gathings on Tuesday.
Gathings inked a deal with Kansas City in late July one week after being waived by the Jets. The undrafted rookie out of Middle Tennessee will likely need to carve out a role on a team's practice squad in hopes of making his potential NFL debut in 2023.
