The King and Queen of the Ring tournaments continued on Monday night's edition of Raw. After four matches, half of each tournament semifinals are set.
The finals of both tournaments will be held at the May 12 premium live event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The other semifinal matches will come together during SmackDown on Friday night.

Raw sets its King and Queen of the Ring semifinals
With the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, WWE programming has been largely focused on in-ring competition over outside-the-ring storylines. On Monday night, this meant four matches across the two tournaments. On the women's side, Iyo Sky defeated Shayna Baszler and Lyra Valkyria picked up a win over Zoey Stark, setting up a match between the two to advance to the finals next Monday night.
As for the men's bracket, Gunther dominated Kofi Kingston while Jey Uso survived a hard-charging Ilja Dragunov in the main event. Gunther and Uso are now set for a big showdown between two of Raw's top talents to earn a spot in the tournament finals.
Wrestling shows with wrestling matches at their center are a good thing. While it's disappointing to some to not get a rematch of the incredible 2021 match between Gunther and Dragunov, it's not a surprise to see Uso advance. Valkyria is being tied closely to Becky Lynch in an effort to give her a rub that increases her legitimacy with a fanbase who may not have seen her in NXT. Sky represents a much bigger challenge for Valkyria and next week's match will send a clear message about how the company views her fresh out of NXT. Grade: B+
What else happened on WWE Raw?
- Drew McIntyre opened the show with an in-ring interview. After talking about CM Punk and Jey Uso, McIntyre attempted to turn his attention to Damian Priest. This brought Priest to the ring to point out that all of McIntyre's failings are his own fault. Ultimately, this led to Priest telling McIntyre he'd give him a shot at the world heavyweight championship whenever he gets medically cleared.
- Queen of the Ring Quarterfinals -- Iyo Sky def. Shayna Baszler via pinfall with an Over the Moonsault. Baszler attacked before the match but didn't do enough damage to get the job done.
- Carlito again made a pitch to Judgment Day. Everyone was on board except Priest, who said he was fine with his teammates working with Carlito, but he wasn't welcome in the group.
- King of the Ring Quarterfinals -- Gunther def. Kofi Kingston via submission with a Boston crab. Kingston tried to get the early jump on Gunther before the match, including attacking Gunther's knee. Gunther was ultimately able to wear Kingston down, just as he'd done to Kingston's teammate Xavier Woods, and get the win to advance to the semifinals.
- Becky Lynch punched Liv Morgan backstage when Morgan interrupted an interview with Lyra Valkyria.
- Bronson Reed def. Akira Tozawa via pinfall with a Tsunami. The match came about after Chad Gable set up Tozawa and Otis with matches against Reed and Sami Zayn, respectively. Gable ran all of Alpha Academy down and demanded they turn things around, leading to him berating Tozawa after his loss.
- Queen of the Ring Quarterfinals -- Lyra Valkyria def. Zoey Stark via pinfall after hitting Nightwing to advance to the semifinals.
- Sami Zayn def. Otis via pinfall after a Helluva Kick. Despite Gable telling Otis both before the match and during to not do "the worm," Otis did so. This led to Gable distracting Otis as he yelled at him from the ring apron. Gable yelled at Otis after the match and Zayn ran back in but Otis helped save his coach. Despite this, Gable slapped Otis before the two walked backstage.
- Becky Lynch def. Dakota Kai via disqualification. Lynch had Kai locked in the Dis-Arm-Her when Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane attacked. Valkyria ran in to make the save when Morgan slid into the ring and sent Lynch into the ring post before escaping the ring.
- WWE World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender's Match -- Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) def. Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar), The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) & New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate) via pinfall when Balor hit Dunne with Coup de Grace. The match was announced earlier in the evening when Adam Pearce was talking to R-Truth. Carlito interfered down the stretch to help Judgment Day get the win. Later, Priest told Carlito, "That was cool."
- King of the Ring Quarterfinals -- Jey Uso def. Ilja Dragunov via pinfall after hitting an Uso Splash in the main event. With the win, Uso now will face Gunther in the King of the Ring semifinals.
