Olivier Giroud is the man of the moment. After his decisive brace against Inter Milan in February, the French striker scored the winning goal against Napoli on Sunday to make the Rossoneri the new Serie A leaders. While Inter Milan still have one game in hand, Stefano Pioli's side are now the other top candidate for the title. Napoli lost the match with an unconvincing display, but they also lost the opportunity to become the favorites to win the league.
Here's what to know:
Serie A scores
- Inter 5, Salernitana 0
- Udinese 2, Sampdoria 1
- Roma 1, Atalanta 0
- Cagliari 0, Lazio 3
- Genoa 0, Empoli 0
- Venezia 1, Sassuolo 4
- Bologna 0, Torino 0
- Fiorentina 1, Hellas Verona 1
- Juventus 1, Spezia 0
- Milan 1, Napoli 0
Huge win for AC Milan
It was an incredible and tense match, with AC Milan leaving Naples with three points and a huge win thanks to the goal scored by Giroud in the second half. The French striker scored his first goal away from home this season and gave to the Rossoneri the lead atop the league. Napoli tried to equalize in the second part of the second half after Giroud scored, but even if the match was full of passion there were not many chances overall, especially for the hosts. Milan join rival Inter as the two top contenders to win the league.

Mourinho earn back-to-back wins
Another important result of the weekend was the one of Jose Mourinho's AS Roma that won against Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday with the deciding goal scored by Tammy Abraham. The former Chelsea striker scored his 13th goal of the season and led his team to a crucial win as they push for European qualification, considering that Lazio won against Cagliari and kept the pace of their capital rivals. It will be another race that will last until the end of the season with four teams involved to get the Europa League spots, now that Juventus seem much more certain to get the Champions League place for next season.

Juventus do just enough
Another win for Juventus, the third one in the a week after the one at Empoli and the Coppa Italia semifinal against Fiorentina. On Sunday, Massimiliano Allegri's side won against Spezia with the goal scored by Alvaro Morata, who is performing really well since Dusan Vlahović arrived at the club in January. Juventus are now much more confident to get the last Champions League spot for the next season and are now potentially involved also in the title race. On the bad side, the manager announced that Weston McKennie is out for the season with his foot injury.
