Royal Antwerp will be in front of their home fans on Wednesday, but a look at the line shows they might need that home-pitch advantage. Porto will hit the road to play their first game against Royal Antwerp in the Champions League Group Stage at 3:00 p.m. ET at Bosuilstadion. While all four teams are eyeing the Round of 16, only the top two teams in the group (Group H) will make it there.
Royal Antwerp and Shakhtar Donetsk combined for 14 shots on goal on October 4th, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. Royal Antwerp fell just short of Shakhtar Donetsk by a score of 3-2. Royal Antwerp didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
Meanwhile, Porto dropped the ball in their first Group Stage match against Barcelona. They put up a good fight, but they still had to settle for second after a 1-0 defeat on October 4th.
This is the second loss in a row for Royal Antwerp and nudges their tournament record down to 0-0-2. As for Porto, their loss dropped their record down to 1-0-1.
With two of the top teams in European soccer facing off against one another on Wednesday, fans could be in for a hotly-contested match. There's only one way to find out which team gets one step closer to the European Cup.
