Manchester City vs. Leicester City score: Man. City rallies to score three goals in win
Manchester City picks up a much-needed three points with their win on Saturday
Manchester City's Premier League title hopes may be hanging by a thread, but the club is still alive and well. On Saturday in Premier League play, third-place City hosted second-place Leicester City, as Pep Guardiola's team came from behind to win 3-1 and cut Liverpool's lead atop the league to 11 points.
The inconsistent Cityzens really found their footing after conceding before the half-hour mark, bouncing back from Jamie Vardy's goal as Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundongan and Gabriel Jesus all scored for the hosts.
City had 12 shots on goal to Leicester's two, while completing 90 percent of its passes. City's first goal came on a deflected shot by former Leicester star Riyad Mahrez 30 minutes in, and the second on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute, but the final goal was all Kevin de Bruyne, as the league's best attacking player showed why he is so special. Grabbing the ball near midfield in the 69th minute, De Bruyne diced through the Leicester defense with some impressive moves and perfectly placed a ball to the back post to make it 3-1. Take a look:
It was a match that wasn't all that close despite Leicester's fine start to the game. Kasper Schmeichel was forced to make numerous saves in this one to keep the Foxes in it, but Leicester could not create enough in the final third despite going up against a slow, out-of-form defensive pairing in Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi.
This still leaves Liverpool still boasting a double-digit lead in the standings with one more game in hand. The Reds did not play this weekend in the Premier League, instead facing Flamengo in the Club World Cup final in Qatar.
These two teams return to action after Christmas, with Leicester hosting Liverpool on Boxing Day (Thursday) and Man. City going to Wolves on Friday.

11 shots on goal for City while just 2 for Leicester. Man. City just stronger in every facet, and it's showing.
It's an easy finish from Gabriel Jesus, but that's all De Bruyne. He cuts through the Leicester defense and feeds him at the back post with a perfect pass.
Perez with a chance for Leicester, but it's way wide. Not a good day for Ayoze. He's off, and Gray is coming on for him.
66' It's a fantastic chance for City, and it is an even better save from Schmeichel. He keeps his hand firm and blocks a Mahrez shot that was headed back post.
58' City is really cranking up the pressure. Mahrez comes close to his second with a sliced shot that nearly goes in at the back post. Goalkeeper was frozen.
City is applying the pressure, getting Gundongan to push high at times as the team looks for a turnover and to pounce on the counter.
Back underway and with Leiceser showing some more confidence and patience with the ball.
What a rebound from City. That penalty gives them all the momentum before the break, and they are looking for another. Leicester on its heels in the defensive third.
