If there is a path for Costa Rica to advance out of Concacaf during the final round of 2022 World Cup qualifying, it has to start with an upset win against Canada on Friday. The Canadians have yet to lose a qualifier and also need a win to keep pace with the United States and Mexico at the top of the standings. Canada has only allowed four goals during its six games played in the final round, while Costa Rica has only managed to score four. You can catch all the action live on Paramount+.

Friday's match is set to get underway at 9:05 p.m. ET. Canada is the clear -187 favorite (risk $187 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line in the latest Costa Rica vs. Jamaica odds at Caesars Sportsbook, while Costa Rica is the +500 underdog. The over-under for total goals scored is set at 2.5. Friday's game will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Concacaf World Cup qualifying picks for Canada vs. Costa Rica

Before you tune in to Wednesday's World Cup qualifiers, you need to see what European soccer insider Martin Green has to say. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

For Canada vs. Costa Rica, Green is picking Canada to go over their team total of 1.5 goals (-110). In a home match against an opponent that doesn't have the legs to push them out of their comfort zone, the Canadians should create plenty of scoring chances. Cyle Larin leads all Concacaf players with nine goals in qualifying thus far, and he'll take the pitch again on Friday.

Youngster Jonathan David has also been a significant scoring threat for Canada and has six goals during qualifying. Only two of those goals have come during the final round of matches, but he scored in Canada's last game, a 4-1 win against Panama on October 14. David has firmly established himself as the nation's top young prospect and was valued at close to $40 million over the summer for French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille.

"This may well be the most talented group of players Canada has ever been blessed with. David is a terrific striker who led Lille to the Ligue 1 title in France last season," Green told SportsLine. "Cyle Larin has been on fire in attack for Canada this year too, so this team has an embarrassment of attacking riches."
