The 2021 MLS All-Star Game is finally here, with the league's best set to take the field Wednesday night in Los Angeles. It's arguably the most highly anticipated MLS All-Star Game in a long, long time, with the top players in Major League Soccer facing the All-Stars from Mexico's top soccer league, Liga MX.

Storylines
MLS All-Stars: While the MLS All-Stars will be without their two biggest names and best players in Carlos Vela and Javier Hernandez, there is still plenty of quality. There's arguably the league's best striker in Raul Ruidiaz of Seattle, Diego Rossi of LAFC, United States men's national team Gold Cup hero Matt Turner in goal and more. But there is no doubt that this team will have its hands full in defense, putting plenty of pressure on the likes of Miles Robinson of Atlanta United. Expect the match to be very open with tons of chances for each side, and if the goalkeepers can come up big, the MLS side will be well positioned to win.
Liga MX All-Stars: This team is loaded. From Jonathan Rodriguez of Cruz Azul to Monterrey's Rogelio Funes Mori and Leon's Angel Mena, expect their technical ability to set them up with some really good looks against this MLS side. A lot will depend on if they can get the creativity they need in the middle. While they are also missing some big names like Andre-Pierre Gignac and Guido Pizarro, they should feel confident in having more than enough to take home the victory. Of course, a lot will depend on how seriously both teams take the defensive side of the ball. But if it is a shootout, Liga MX should be in good shape.
