Kings' Brandt Clarke: Helps out on power play in loss
Clarke notched a power-play assist, three shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Clarke had the secondary helper on Kevin Fiala's goal in the second period. With three assists over his last five games, Clarke has gotten back on track after starting December cold. The 21-year-old defenseman is up to 19 points (seven on the power play), 71 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 34 outings overall. He continues to see top-four minutes and a spot on the first power-play unit.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Generates power-play assist
Kempe logged a power-play assist and went minus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Kempe had been held off the scoresheet in the previous two contests for just his third multi-game drought of the year. The 28-year-old set up Kevin Fiala's game-tying goal in the second period, but that was all the Kings produced against Logan Thompson. Kempe has eight points over nine games in December and a total of 16 goals, 16 assists, six power-play points, 93 shots on net, 39 hits and a plus-17 rating through 34 appearances this year.

Kings' Kevin Fiala: Nets lone goal on power play
Fiala scored a power-play goal on four shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Fiala giveth and Fiala taketh away -- his tally tied the game at 1-1 on the Kings' lone power play of the game. However, he committed their only penalty as well, and the Capitals cashed in for the game-winning goal. Through nine outings in December, Fiala has four goals, one assist and 28 shots on net. The talented winger is up to 21 points (11 on the power play) with 91 shots on net, 26 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 33 appearances, mainly in a middle-six role.

Kings' David Rittich: Takes loss versus Capitals
Rittich allowed two goals on 20 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals. The third goal was an empty-netter.
Rittich put forth a decent effort but didn't get enough goal support. He has lost two of his three outings in December, giving up seven goals on 74 shots in those games. Rittich is down to a 10-8-0 record with a 2.46 GAA and an .891 save percentage through 19 appearances as the Kings' defensive structure continues to limit the shots he faces. The Kings return to action with a back-to-back after the holiday break, hosting the Oilers on Saturday and the Flyers on Sunday, so Darcy Kuemper and Rittich can be expected to split those starts.

Kings' Trevor Moore: Won't play Sunday
Moore (upper body) won't play against Washington on Sunday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Moore will miss his fifth straight game. He has collected six goals, 18 points, 25 hits and 60 shots on net across 28 outings this season. Due to Moore's absence, Alex Turcotte will remain on the top line in Sunday's game

Kings' Phillip Danault: Not playing Sunday
Danault (undisclosed) won't play versus Washington on Sunday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Danault will miss at least one game after registering an assist in 18:36 of ice time in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Nashville. He has three goals, 17 points, 52 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and 31 hits through 33 appearances this season. Andre Lee will replace Danault in Sunday's lineup.

Kings' David Rittich: Starting in Washington
Rittich will defend the road goal versus the Capitals on Sunday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Rittich will get the second half of the Kings' back-to-back after Darcy Kuemper played in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to Nashville. The 32-year-old Rittich has a 10-7-0 record with a 2.49 GAA and an .890 save percentage across 18 appearances this season. Washington ranks second in the league with 3.78 goals per game in 2024-25.

Kings' Joel Edmundson: Slings helper in overtime loss
Edmundson provided an assist, five shots on goal and four hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators.
Edmundson helped out on an Alex Laferriere goal in the third period. Surprisingly, the five shots were not a season-high for Edmundson -- he had seven in a 4-1 win over the Wild on Dec. 7. The 31-year-old blueliner has been a pleasant surprise offensively with 10 points through 31 outings this season. Edmundson has added 52 hits, 48 blocked shots, 43 shots on net, 14 PIM and a plus-14 rating while seeing top-four minutes. His offense alone doesn't move the needle in fantasy, but there's enough physicality to make an impact in deeper formats.

Kings' Alex Laferriere: New career mark for goals
Laferriere scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
Laferriere scored the tying goal at 13:23 of the third period on a rebound from in tight while Darcy Kuemper was on the bench for an extra attacker during a delayed penalty. The goal set a new career mark for Laferriere, who had notched 12 last season in 81 games. This season, it took just 33 games to get 13. Laferriere has three points (one goal, two assists) across his last two outings, and he has 25 (13 goals, 12 assists) in those 33 appearances this year. His 18.3 shooting percentage remains unsustainable, but keep him flying until that starts to settle.

Kings' Quinton Byfield: Three goals in last four games
Byfield scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
Byfield has had a quiet season, but things may be turning around. He has three goals, four points and 11 shots over his last four appearances. Byfield is an offensive talent, and this run could be a precursor to the next step in his game. Watch carefully -- his value will take a big leap if he can produce at a pace similar to his 55-point 2023-24 campaign.

Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Helps team get point
Kuemper made 23 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Predators on Saturday.
The Kings were flat for the first two-and-a-half periods, and Kuemper kept things close until his teammates woke up. However, he got caught out of the crease in OT, and Nick Blankenburg had an easy open net to get the winner. Kuemper and David Rittich have started 16 games apiece, but Kuemper has played in six of the last seven contests. Kuemper's .911 save percentage is also significantly better than Rittich's .890, but they have similar GAAs, with Kuemper sitting at 2.40 and Rittich at 2.49. Los Angeles is a strong team, and both goalies will perform well when given the chance to play, but Kuemper should see the bulk of the starts now that he's healthy.

Kings' Trevor Moore: Not playing Saturday
Moore (upper body) won't play Saturday against Nashville, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Moore was absent from Los Angeles' pre-game line rushes, indicating he'll miss his fourth straight game due to an upper-body injury. Moore has six goals and 18 points in 28 games this season. The Kings return to action Sunday against the Capitals.

Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Starting in Nashville
Kuemper will defend the visiting crease against Nashville on Saturday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Kuemper has gone 4-0-1 since returning from an injury that cost him eight contests from Nov. 16-Dec 4. He is 8-2-4 with a 2.36 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 15 appearances this season. Nashville is the lowest-scoring team in the NHL this season, averaging only 2.30 goals per game.

Kings' Jacob Moverare: Bags apple in win
Moverare notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.
The helper was Moverare's first point of the campaign. The 26-year-old has been a regular in the lineup over the last month, and it helps that the Kings are using seven defensemen. That said, he's playing in a third-pairing role, averaging 12:20 of ice time per game. He's added 10 shots on net, 16 hits, 20 blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-1 rating through 14 appearances.

Kings' Jordan Spence: Provides two helpers
Spence notched two assists, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.
Spence is rolling on offense with a goal and five assists over his last eight outings. Thursday marked his first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, eight helpers, 34 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 29 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 31 contests. He does a little of everything and should be rostered in deep fantasy formats.

Kings' Vladislav Gavrikov: Another two-assist game
Gavrikov logged two assists and four blocked shots in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.
Gavrikov has logged back-to-back two-assist efforts to end a five-game slump. The 29-year-old defenseman continues to see big minutes on the top pairing alongside Mikey Anderson, but they form more of a shutdown duo than a significant scoring threat. Gavrikov has 15 points, 39 shots on net, 67 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating through 32 appearances, putting him on pace for a career year. That level of production is worth considering in fantasy, though the rest of the Kings' blueliners figure to take a drop in value once Drew Doughty (ankle) makes his season debut at some point in January.
