Tkachuk (upper body) won't play in Saturday's preseason finale versus Montreal, according to TSN 1200 Ottawa.
Tkachuk practiced Thursday after leaving Tuesday's exhibition contest against the Canadiens early. However, his absence from Saturday's lineup is likely precautionary ahead of Opening Night against Florida on Thursday. Tkachuk compiled 37 goals, 74 points, 357 shots on net and 294 hits over 81 appearances during the 2023-24 regular season.

Tkachuk exited Tuesday's preseason game against the Canadiens due to an upper-body injury that he sustained in a fight, but coach Travis Green said Thursday that he isn't "overly concerned" about the ailment. Tkachuk will be in the mix to suit up this weekend as the Senators close out preseason play Friday against Detroit and Saturday against Montreal, but Green didn't definitively indicate whether Tkachuk would be able to play.
