This was his first point in four games for the Flames this season, and it was also his first career point. He's added four shots on net and a plus-1 rating. Suniev will likely benefit from more time with AHL Calgary in 2026-27, though he could earn an NHL job with a strong showing in training camp.

Suniev signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flames on Wednesday.
Suniev was the 80th overall pick by Calgary in 2023, and he's spent the last two seasons at UMass. He made 35 collegiate appearances in 2024-25 and recorded 20 goals, 18 assists and 41 PIM.
