Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: First career goal is game-winner
Lilleberg scored a goal, logged two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Sabres.
It took until his 111th game, but Lilleberg finally has his first NHL goal. He stretched the Lightning's lead to 5-2 at 16:45 of the second period, and that tally held up as the game-winner. It also snapped a seven-game point drought for the 24-year-old blueliner. He's been effective in his role as a physical defenseman in 2024-25, earning 19 points, 45 shots on net, 105 PIM, 113 hits, 59 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 74 appearances.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Slides assist in big win
Lilleberg notched an assist, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-0 win over Utah.
Lilleberg set up Gage Goncalves' goal in the second period, which put the Lightning up 3-0. This was Lilleberg's second game in a row with a helper, and he has four of them over his last six outings. The 24-year-old has stepped up as a regular this season with 18 assists, 42 shots on net, 104 hits, 54 blocked shots, 95 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 66 appearances. However, he's still looking for his first NHL goal after 103 career games and counting.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: First multi-pointer of career
Lilleberg had two helpers and three hits Saturday in a 6-2 win over Boston.
It was Lilleberg's first mult-point NHL game. The 24-year-old Norwegian is up to 16 assists in 61 games this season, but he's still looking for his first NHL goal. Lilleberg does have 97 hits, which gives him a bit of potential as a category stacker in leagues that count that stat.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Contributes assist Sunday
Lilleberg notched an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Kraken.
Lilleberg has two helpers over six contests in February. The 24-year-old defenseman has racked up five assists over his last 14 games -- while it's not much, it's a noticeable uptick in offense for the heavy-hitting blueliner. He's at 13 helpers, 32 shots on net, 89 hits, 76 PIM and 46 blocked shots over 51 appearances while holding down a third-pairing role in his second NHL campaign.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: First point since suspension
Lilleberg provided an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Senators.
This was Lilleberg's second game back from a two-game suspension. He has four helpers over his last 10 outings, though it's unlikely the 24-year-old blueliner will maintain that level of production in the long run. The Norwegian defenseman is at 12 assists, 29 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 76 PIM and 83 hits through 47 appearances in a bottom-four role this season.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Receives two-game suspension
The NHL Department of Player Safety announced Monday that Lilleberg has been suspended for two games for interference against the Red Wings' J.T. Compher during Saturday's 2-0 loss.
Lilleberg was assessed a two-minute penalty in the second period of Saturday's matchup for the incident, and he had a hearing afterward in which the league determined that the event warranted additional punishment. J.J. Moser (lower body) remains on injured reserve, so the Lightning will need to call up an additional blueliner to fill in Tuesday against Chicago and Thursday against the Kings. Lilleberg will be eligible to return at home against the Islanders on Saturday.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Adds assist in win
Lilleberg notched an assist, three hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Lilleberg had a shot bounce off the boards, leading to a Brayden Point goal on the rebound just 2:02 into the first period. This was Lilleberg's second assist over the last four contests. Two of his three highest ice-time totals have been in the last two games, likely in part due to Erik Cernak (undisclosed) missing most of Thursday's game against the Ducks before sitting out Saturday's contest altogether. Lilleberg is at 10 helpers, 24 shots on net, 74 hits, 72 PIM, 34 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 41 outings this season.

Lilleberg ended an 11-game point drought with the secondary assist on Brandon Hagel's second-period tally. During that slump, Lilleberg still flexed his physicality and toughness, racking up 17 hits and 37 PIM. The 23-year-old has been a steady part of the Lightning's third pairing for much of the campaign, earning nine assists, 24 shots on net, 69 hits, 67 PIM, 33 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through a career-high 38 appearances.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Slides assist Tuesday
Lilleberg registered an assist, two shots on goal, two hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jackets.
Lilleberg has two helpers over his last 10 contests. The 23-year-old defenseman has occasionally chipped in on offense, but he's not as proficient in that area. He remains listed on the third pairing, but the absence of J.J. Moser (lower body) looks to be opening the door for Lilleberg to see more ice time -- he's been over 16 minutes in six straight games. The Norwegian blueliner has eight helpers, 16 shots on net, 30 PIM, 23 blocked shots and 48 hits through 26 appearances.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Puts up helper in win
Lilleberg notched an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 8-1 win over the Sharks.
Lilleberg led all Lightning skaters with 20:58 of ice time -- he picked up the slack as the top regulars got rest in a blowout win. The 23-year-old has five helpers over his last 11 contests, which is a level of offense typically unseen out of the blueliner so far in his young career. He's up to seven assists, 13 shots on net, 36 hits, 28 PIM, 15 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 21 appearances, which is already better than his five helpers in 37 regular-season outings in 2023-24.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Manages assist in loss
Lilleberg posted an assist in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Stars.
Lilleberg has seen a limited role on the third pairing this season, and it's reduced further when the Lightning dress seven blueliners as they did Saturday. Despite his minimal playing time -- he's averaging 13:32 per game -- he's picked up six helpers over 16 contests, including four assists in his last six games. Lilleberg also has 26 hits, 13 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-2 rating this season.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Slings helper Thursday
Lilleberg notched an assist and two hits in Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Flyers.
Lilleberg has been a rotational option on defense for the Lightning, though he could stick in the lineup if Erik Cernak (undisclosed) misses time after exiting Thursday's game. Through 11 appearances, Lilleberg has three assists, four shots on net, 16 hits, eight blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-3 rating. He'll likely see bottom-four usage when he plays.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Offers assist in win
Lilleberg notched an assist and five hits in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Lilleberg is not guaranteed a spot in the lineup, but he has appeared in two of the Lightning's three games so far. Even when he suits up, it's been in a very limited third-pairing role so far. In 2023-24, the 23-year-old defenseman accumulated five assists, 31 shots on net, 105 hits and 48 blocked shots over 37 regular-season appearances. With no clear path to top-four minutes, he's unlikely to be an option in most fantasy formats.

Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Secures two-year extension
Lilleberg penned a two-year, $1.6 million contract extension with the Lightning on Tuesday.
Perhaps most noteworthy is the fact that Lilleberg's new deal is a one-way contract, which makes it harder to move him between the NHL and AHL once his new deal begins in 2025-26. For now, the 23-year-old defenseman will likely continue dividing his time between levels, though the free-agency departure of Calvin de Haan should open up a spot on the blue line.

Lilleberg was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday.
Lilleberg will join up with the Crunch, who are tied 1-1 in a best-of-five series against AHL Rochester. At the NHL level this season, the 23-year-old blueliner played in 37 regular-season games in which he tallied five helpers, 105 hits and 31 shots, though he is still looking for his first NHL goal.

Lilleberg notched an assist and five hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Bruins.

Lilleberg has recorded three assists in 23 appearances with the Lightning this season. He also has two goals and 13 points in 33 AHL outings this campaign. Lilleberg could play Saturday against Florida after Haydn Fleury (undisclosed) was injured Thursday versus the Rangers.
