  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Nabs shootout win in return

Demko stopped 22 shots in regulation and overtime and three of four shootout attempts in Monday's 4-3 win over the Devils.

Seeing his first action since Feb. 8 after recovering from a lower-body injury, Demko secured a crucial win for the Canucks as they push for a wild-card spot. The 29-year-old netminder has had a tough campaign due to injuries, but with Kevin Lankinen struggling in March (4-5-1 with a 2.91 GAA and .873 save percentage), the door is open for Demko to move into a timeshare or even reclaim the starting job if he can stay healthy.

The 29-year-old has been inconsistent since the start of the calendar year, going 4-5-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .900 save percentage over 11 appearances. The Devils are averaging 2.96 goals per game this season, which ranks 17th in the NHL.

Demko (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Monday.

After missing the last 15 games, Demko will return to the lineup in Monday's road game against New Jersey, and it wouldn't be surprising if he got the start. He has posted a 6-6-3 record with one shutout, a 2.87 GAA and an .891 save percentage through 17 appearances this season.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: No timetable to return

Demko (lower body) practiced Sunday but doesn't yet have a timetable to return to game action, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Demko has been sidelined since early February, and while he was initially expected to serve as the backup netminder Thursday against the Blues, he ultimately remained on injured reserve. However, he's reportedly been feeling better recently, so he appears to be trending in the right direction.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Remains on IR

Contrary to a previous report, Demko will not serve as backup to Kevin Lankinen for Thursday's game versus the Blues. Demko remains on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Serving as backup

Demko (lower body) will fill the backup role against the Blues on Thursday, per NHL.com.

Demko has been out of action since Feb. 8 versus the Maple Leafs and will be back on the bench versus St. Louis. With Demko at least healthy enough for the No. 2 role, he could be ready to start against the Rangers on Saturday. Prior to getting hurt, Demko was seeing a heavy workload, but the team may have to take a more cautious approach and split the starts between Demko and Kevin Lankinen.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Will travel on upcoming road trip

Demko (lower body) will travel with Vancouver on its upcoming six-game road trip, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports Tuesday.

Demko has been on injured reserve since Feb. 23 after suffering his lower-body injury against Toronto on Feb. 8. The Canucks' road trip starts Thursday in St. Louis and concludes in Winnipeg on March 30, but it's not yet known if Demko will be available for any of those contests. Arturs Silovs will continue to operate as the No. 2 goaltender behind Kevin Lankinen while Demko works his way back to full health.

Demko (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.

Demko is week-to-week and unavailable for at least the remaining four games of Vancouver's road trip. He has posted a 6-6-3 record with one shutout, a 2.87 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 17 appearances this season. • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Deemed week-to-week

Demko (lower body) is week-to-week and won't accompany Vancouver on the team's upcoming five-game road trip, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports Tuesday.

The Canucks will re-evaluate Demko when the team returns from the trip. He sustained the injury, which isn't to his knee, in a 2-1 win over Toronto on Feb. 8 before the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off. He has a 6-6-3 record with one shutout, a 2.87 GAA and an .891 save percentage in 17 appearances this season. Vancouver recalled Arturs Silovs from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday under emergency conditions to occupy the backup role behind Kevin Lankinen.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Exits contest in first period

Demko (undisclosed) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs.

Demko lasted 10:00 into the contest, stopping all six shots he faced. Kevin Lankinen took over in goal when Demko exited. The one silver lining here is that Demko will have two weeks to recover before the Canucks' visit to Vegas on Feb. 22 because of the 4 Nations Face-Off. The severity of the 29-year-old goalie's injury is unclear at this time.

Demko gets the nod in his home state of California. He's started to turn things around recently, going 2-1-0 with just four goals allowed over his last three appearances. The 29-year-old has a favorable matchup Thursday, as the Sharks have scored just nine goals over their last four games.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Stellar in win

Demko stopped 33 of 34 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Sharks.

Demko came within 1:28 of a shutout, but he had to settle for the overtime win. It was still a strong outing -- he's won three of his last four starts while allowing just five goals in that span. The 29-year-old seems to have shaken off the rust of a long-term knee injury that prevented him from playing for two months to begin the season. The netminder is now 6-6-3 with a 2.90 GAA and an .889 save percentage over 16 starts. The Canucks' last game before the 4 Nations Face-Off break is Saturday at home versus the Maple Leafs.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Blanks Avalanche

Demko posted a 25-save shutout in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Avalanche.

Demko is up to 5-6-3 with a 3.03 GAA and an .882 save percentage over 15 contests, but he's allowed just four goals over his last three outings. The California native may be in line to start again Thursday versus the Sharks, though Kevin Lankinen has also played fairly well of late.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Struggles badly vs. Dallas

Demko stopped 11 of 14 shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Stars. Dallas' final two goals were empty-netters.

Demko had a woeful performance Friday and could've allowed more goals had the Stars been more accurate in front of the net. Demko remains the primary option between the pipes for the Canucks, but there's no question he's been struggling of late. He has dropped three of his last four starts while posting a 1-3-0 record, a 3.29 GAA and an .877 save percentage in that stretch.

  • Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Bounces back Wednesday

Demko stopped 31 of 32 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Predators.

This was a close game for a majority of the contest -- the Canucks didn't have a multi-goal lead until Pius Suter's empty-netter with 19 seconds left in the third period. Demko still played well and came away with his second win in four starts. The 29-year-old netminder is now 4-5-3 with a 3.27 GAA and an .877 save percentage. Demko is at risk of losing playing time if he can't get his season on track, so performances like this one will need to become more frequent. The Canucks' three-game road trip ends Friday in Dallas.
