Bennett put the Panthers up 2-0 with a power-play tally in the first period, and he added another goal at even strength to temporarily restore their lead in the middle frame. He has three goals and two assists over three games since NHL action resumed, compared to just two helpers over seven contests heading into the Olympics, in which Bennett picked up a silver medal for Canada. The 29-year-old has 22 goals, 47 points, 156 shots on net, 105 hits, 72 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 60 appearances. He's got some work to do, but a 30-goal, 60-point campaign isn't out of the question -- both of those marks would be career highs.

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Two points in Friday's loss
Bennett was credited with an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Sabres.
After helping to set up Matthew Tkachuk for Florida's first goal midway through the second period, Bennett fired a shot at Alex Lyon inside the final minute of the third with the Panthers' net empty. Lyon made the initial save, but the puck trickled through him into the crease, and Rasmus Dahlin's clearing attempt instead bounced off the goalie and into the net. It goes down as Bennett's 20th goal of the season, a mark he has reached in three straight campaigns and four of the last five. Over the last 15 games, he's delivered a tidy four goals and 12 points.

Bennett exited Monday's game against the Sabres due to an upper-body injury, but he's been cleared to suit up for the Panthers' penultimate game before the Olympic break. Bennett exited Monday's game against the Sabres early with an upper-body injury and will not return.
After skating just over five minutes in the first period, Bennett was ultimately ruled out before the start of the third period. The injury comes at a rough time for the 29-year-old center, who was in the midst of an 11-point, 12-game stretch and was a top candidate to potentially replace Anthony Cirelli (undisclosed) on Team Canada, if Cirelli's injury is serious enough to keep him out through the Olympic break. Regardless, Bennett will have two chances to return to Florida's lineup before the Olympic break, with the first being Wednesday versus the Bruins. Bennett dished out two assists, put four shots on goal, served two PIM and tallied two hits in Monday's 4-3 win over Buffalo.
Bennett played a hand in both of the goals scored by his linemate A.J. Greer, including the empty-netter to add to the team's lead late in the contest. With the pair of helpers, Bennett is up to 19 assists, 35 points, 115 shots on goal, 91 hits and 21 blocks through 45 games this season. Since Dec. 6, the 29-year-old center has been on fire with 22 points, 58 shots on net and 40 hits across 19 games. The second-line center leads the Panthers in points during that span and is 11th across the entire NHL since then. He also remains on pace to best his career high in points, which he set in 2024-25 with 51 in 76 regular-season appearances. With the Panthers needing to sharpen their play down the stretch to earn a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, Bennett will likely continue to lead by example, giving him a strong outlook in nearly all fantasy formats.
