  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Yields four consecutive goals

Andersen stopped 14 of 18 shots on net in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens. Andersen's solid start to the contest declined over time, and Carolina's 2-0 lead evaporated, as he allowed four consecutive goals between the midway points of the first and third periods. With the loss, the 35-year-old netminder now has a 13-12-5 record, a 3.15 GAA and an .871 save percentage across 30 games this season. The loss snapped his five-game win streak. While the overall stats aren't inside the upper echelon of the league, Andersen has played his best hockey of the season since the Olympic break, making him a solid option in most formats for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs. His next chance to bounce back is Saturday against New Jersey.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Starting in Montreal

Andersen will guard the road goal against the Canadiens on Tuesday, per Patrick Friolet of RDS. Andersen has stopped 102 of the 117 shots he has faced during his five-game winning streak. • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Beaten once in comfortable win

Andersen stopped 18 of 19 shots in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Penguins. Andersen was coming off five straight outings in which he'd posted a save percentage below .900, so this was a nice bounce-back effort for the 36-year-old veteran. He should remain the Hurricanes' No. 2 option behind Brandon Bussi, though, meaning his upside for the fantasy playoffs will be limited and strictly matchup-based.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Facing Penguins

Andersen will start Sunday's road matchup against Pittsburgh, according to Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site. Andersen has stopped 84 of the 98 shots he has faced during his four-game winning streak. He has a 12-11-5 record during the 2025-26 campaign with a 3.19 GAA and an .872 save percentage across 28 appearances. Pittsburgh is tied for sixth in the league this season with 3.45 goals per game.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Hangs on for fourth straight win

Andersen stopped 30 shots in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime win over the Penguins. The wild back-and-forth contest saw neither team build more than a one-goal lead at any point, and seven total goals scored in the third period. Andersen still held on to record his fourth straight win, and fifth in six outings since the Olympic break as he works in a timeshare with Brandon Bussi. Over that stretch, Andersen has gone 5-1-0 despite a 2.95 GAA and .873 save percentage, as Carolina has averaged 4.5 goals a game in his starts.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Set to start versus Pens

Andersen is slated to tend the twine at home against Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Ryan Henkel of The Hockey News reports. Andersen has split the last eight starts with Brandon Bussi. • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Third straight win

Andersen made 17 saves in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Lightning. Andersen has won three straight games (3-0-0), beating the Oilers, Penguins and Lightning. He's alternating starts with Brandon Bussi, who is 1-2-0 this month. Carolina sits at the top of the Eastern Conference with 90 points, so it has plenty of wiggle room to give Bussi a rest before the playoffs start. Andersen will benefit from that.

He has a 10-11-5 record this season with a 3.18 GAA and an .872 save percentage across 26 appearances. Tampa Bay sits third in the league with 3.52 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Hangs on for shootout win

Andersen stopped 24 shots in regulation and overtime and two of three shootout attempts in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Penguins. The veteran netminder seemed to be cruising toward a win when the Hurricanes grabbed a 4-2 lead midway through the third period. However, Andersen coughed up two late goals, which forced the game to overtime. Still, he got his third win in four starts since the Olympic break despite a 2.73 GAA and an .875 save percentage over that stretch. He has been working in a timeshare with Brandon Bussi.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Expected to face Pittsburgh

Andersen is expected to start at home versus the Penguins on Tuesday, per Walt Ruff and Peter Dewar of the Hurricanes' official site. Andersen is set to make his fourth start in the last six games -- he's 2-1-0 with a 2.38 GAA and an .883 save percentage over his last three appearances. The Penguins snapped a three-game losing streak in a 5-4 overtime win over Boston on Sunday, but they will still be without Sidney Crosby (lower body) and Evgeni Malkin (suspension) on Tuesday. Andersen conceded five goals on 28 shots during a loss against Pittsburgh on Dec. 30, but that game was on the road.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Earns win despite subpar outing

Andersen stopped 13 of 16 shots in Friday's 6-3 win over the Oilers. Andersen got back to winning ways after sitting out the 6-4 win over the Canucks on Wednesday and losing against the Kraken on Monday. That said, this was far from his best showing, as the 36-year-old veteran posted an underwhelming .813 save percentage in the game. Andersen has posted a save percentage below .870 in his last two starts.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Facing Oilers

Andersen will protect the road goal versus the Oilers on Friday, Adam Gold of 99.9 The Fan reports. Andersen is getting the first half of a back-to-back and the harder matchup of the Hurricanes' two games in Alberta. He will be starting for the third time in four games, having allowed four goals on 44 shots over his last two outings. Brandon Bussi will likely get the nod Saturday versus the Flames.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Yields two goals in loss

Andersen stopped 13 of 15 shots on goal in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Kraken. Despite posting a tidy pair of periods in the first and third, Andersen would ultimately be handed the loss after allowing two goals in the second. He now holds an 8-11-5 record, a 3.16 GAA and an .874 save percentage across 24 outings this season. The 36-year-old netminder has gone 1-1-0 over his two appearances since the Olympic break, making his mixed bag of results tough to trust in fantasy for the time being. He remains behind Brandon Bussi on the depth chart, giving Andersen a limited ceiling in fantasy for the remainder of the regular season. He'll likely have Carolina's next game off before likely appearing in the team's back-to-back slate of games Friday and Saturday.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: First goalie off

Andersen was the first goalie to leave the ice ahead of Monday's road game versus Seattle, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports, indicating he'll be in goal. Andersen is coming off a 27-save win over the Red Wings on Saturday, his first victory since Jan. 17 versus the Devils. In limited action this year (23 games), the veteran netminder is sporting an 8-10-5 record, 3.21 GAA and .874 save percentage. Given his underwhelming numbers, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see Andersen filling a No. 2 role behind Brandon Bussi.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Picks up win Saturday

Andersen stopped 27 of 29 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Red Wings. Andersen had not played in the Hurricanes' previous four games. The Danish netminder is 3-0-3 over his last six outings, allowing 16 goals in that span. He's up to 8-10-5 with a 3.21 GAA and an .874 save percentage through 23 starts this season. Brandon Bussi's continued success between the pipes will likely make it difficult for Andersen to get steady playing time, but he's a decent streaming option in the right matchups. Look for Bussi to get the nod in Seattle on Monday to start Carolina's road trip out west.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Falls short in qualifier

Andersen stopped 28 of 31 shots on net in Denmark's 3-2 loss to Czechia in Olympic qualification round play Tuesday. Despite keeping Denmark's net tidy in the first and third periods, Andersen allowed three goals in the second period, which would ultimately be enough for Czechia to advance to the quarterfinals. The 36-year-old netminer finished the Olympics with a 1-2-0 record, a .913 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA across three appearances. The numbers he posted were a step up from his current stats with the Carolina Hurricanes, which could give the veteran netminder a morale boost headed into the last stretch of the NHL regular season.
