Hertl is already rolling in the playoffs with three points over the first two postseason games. The center got the Golden Knights back within two goals in the third period Tuesday, but the comeback effort stalled out there. Hertl (rest) was on the ice for Friday's practice session, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports, indicating that he should be back in action for Sunday's Game 1 against the Wild.

Hertl was injured in Sunday's 4-2 win over Tampa Bay after being boarded by Emil Lilleberg. Hertl won't be available for at least the next three games, so William Karlsson figures to slide into a top-six role in the interim, while Tanner Pearson or Cole Schwindt could receive more playing time in the bottom six. Hertl shouldn't be expected to return to the lineup until at least April 1 versus Edmonton. The left-shot center has racked up 31 goals and 59 points over 70 appearances in 2024-25.

Head coach Bruce Cassidy said following Sunday's 4-2 win over the Lightning that Hertl is being evaluated after exiting the game early due to an apparent right arm injury, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Hertl went hard into the boards in the third period of Sunday's matchup, and he headed to the locker room immediately afterward. He appeared to be favoring his right arm, but the extent of his injury isn't yet known. The Golden Knights will have a day off before a road matchup in Minnesota on Tuesday, and Hertl is slated to be reevaluated Monday. It's his second hat trick in March, a month that's seen him score seven times while adding five assists over 10 outings.
