Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Back on score sheet
Rakell scored a goal Tuesday in a 6-2 loss to Colorado.
It was his 15th of the season. Rakell had his eight-game, 10-point scoring streak snapped Sunday, so it's great that he's back on the score sheet. The Pens dropped to third in the Metropolitan Division with the loss, and they're just one point ahead of the Islanders, who are fourth. Rakell is one of the scoring leaders on the team, and he'll need to keep this pace up over the stretch to help secure the playoff spot.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Two helpers in Crosby's return
Rakell notched two assists, one on the power play, in Wednesday's 6-5 overtime loss to Carolina.
With Sidney Crosby back in the lineup, Rakell was reunited with his usual center and helped set up Pittsburgh's captain for the team's first goal of the night. Rakell then had a hand on Erik Karlsson's first tally of the game just 59 seconds into the third. Rakell has been staying productive even without Crosby, as Wednesday's effort extended his point streak to seven games -- a stretch in which he's collected two goals and nine points, with four of his assists coming on the power play.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Finds twine in loss
Rakell scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Rakell has two goals and three assists during his active four-game point streak. He was able to get the Penguins on the board in the second period, but the 32-year-old couldn't carry the team's offense in this tough matchup. Rakell has 13 goals, 30 points, 121 shots on net, 59 hits, 35 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 44 appearances this season. He'll continue to function as the top-line center while the Penguins wait for Evgeni Malkin (suspension) to return Monday.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Two-point night in loss
Rakell had a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers.
The goal was Rakell's 12th goal of the season. He has 27 points in 41 games this season, and he'll be expected to carry a lot with Sidney Crosby (lower body) out and Evgeni Malkin serving the first game of a five-game suspension. Rakell is more of a passenger than a driver, so his game could shrink in the short term.

Rakell scored a power-play goal, put two shots on net and blocked two shots in Sunday's 5-0 win over Vegas.

He has 11 goals, 25 points, 108 shots on net, 53 hits and 33 blocked shots across 38 games this season. The veteran forward has been effective in a top-six role when healthy this season and is set to see a bump in playing time with Sidney Crosby (lower body) sidelined. Rakell holds solid fantasy value moving forward while the Penguins vie for a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division.

Rakell got onto the scoresheet in six of the final eight games in January, collecting four goals and seven points over that stretch, but Saturday's power-play goal was his first since Dec. 21.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Nets another goal
Rakell scored a goal, added three hits and went plus-2 in Monday's 6-3 win over the Kraken.
Rakell has two goals and an assist during a three-game point streak. That matches his longest run since he returned from a hand injury in mid-December. The 32-year-old is up to eight goals, 20 points, 85 shots on net, 39 hits, 25 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 28 appearances. He's not at the peak of his performance currently, but Rakell's continued presence in the top six bodes well for steady offense.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Scores in shootout loss
Rakell scored a goal on seven shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Rakell had been limited to three helpers over his previous five games. The 32-year-old forward continues to play on the top line, and he's been fairly steady with six points over nine outings in January. Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Plates pair of helpers in win
Rakell distributed two assists and placed four shots on net in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Rakell chipped in on goals scored by Erik Karlsson on Connor Dewar for Pittsburgh's first two tallies of Thursday's contest. With the pair of helpers, Rakell is up to 11 assists, 17 points, 63 shots on net, 32 hits and 21 blocks through 22 games this season. The 32-year-old forward has built up a three-game point streak, which is the longest since his return from a hand injury in mid-December. While the aforementioned injury will likely keep him from replicating the career year he had a season ago, he remains a cash cow for steady all-around production, as he is averaging nearly a point, three shots on goal, one-and-a-half hits and a block per game when healthy. His role on Pittsburgh's top line should give him a strong chance to reach the 45-point mark, which would salvage a season riddled with an injury and give him solid fantasy value in standard formats moving forward.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Scores late equalizer
Rakell scored a goal in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Rakell has scored in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Even though injuries have limited him to only 21 games so far, he hasn't exactly set the world on fire with his performances and has earned a mere 15 points (six goals, nine assists) overall.

Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Gets goal in win
Rakell scored an empty-netter in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
Rakell has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) and 54 shots on net in 20 games this season. The pace is well off his 35-goal, 70-point production from last season, but that came with an unsustainable 17.2 shooting percentage. He has also struggled to find his groove since his return in mid-December from a broken left hand. Rakell has just two goals on 37 shots and four assists in 11 games. That left hand is his top hand, and he returned on the short end of a six-to-eight week recovery from surgery. He has 10 shots in his last two games, and that may make him a sneaky waiver grab.

Rakell registered an assist, three hits, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Mammoth.
