Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Ends slump with two goals
Stone scored twice on four shots in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Stone had been limited to two assists, both coming March 14 against Chicago, over his last seven outings. He got back in the goal column with a pair of second-period tallies, though the Oilers had a quick response for each one. Stone is up to 23 goals, 64 points, 110 shots on net, 40 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating over 51 appearances this season. He was shooting 22.8 percent prior to the Olympic break, but he's down to 20.9 percent thanks to his recent slump, which is regression that could be tough to shake off late in the campaign.

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Helps out twice on power play
Stone notched two power-play assists and four shots on goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Blackhawks.
Stone has been back for two games after missing five due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old winger had a hand on both of Pavel Dorofeyev's tallies in this contest. Stone has had a couple of injury absences this season, but he's more than made up for it with 21 goals, 41 assists, 24 power-play points, 97 shots on net and a plus-19 rating over 45 appearances. His 1.38 points-per-game mark ranks sixth in the league, and he's one of 38 players in the league to be at or above a point-per-game pace with at least 10 games played through Saturday's action.

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Activated from IR
Stone (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Stone was considered a game-time decision despite participating in practice in a non-contact jersey. His activation makes him eligible to play, though it remains to be seen if he will suit up versus the Penguins. If he sits out once more, it seems likely Stone would return Saturday versus the Blackhawks at the latest.

Stone has missed the last five games and though he practiced Thursday, it was in a non-contact jersey. Stone has 21 goals and 39 assists, including 22 points on the power play, in 43 games this season. While is appears likely that he will sit out at least one more game, there is still a chance that Stone could play Thursday.

Stone (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Stone suffered an upper-body injury during Sunday's game against the Penguins and had already missed two matchups as a result. While it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, his placement on injured reserve indicates that he'll be unavailable for at least a week in total. Cole Reinhardt should continue to see playing time in Stone's absence.

Stone was injured Sunday in Pittsburgh and won't be an option for the first half of the Golden Knights' back-to-back as a result. Considering his injury history, it seems unlikely the right-shot winger will draw into the lineup Wednesday in Detroit as well. The Golden Knights winger gave Canada a 3-1 lead just before the first intermission, with his tally proving to be the game-winner, before having a hand in goals by Sidney Crosby in the second period and Macklin Celebrini in the third. Stone is having a strong tournament in his first Olympics, scoring two goals and four points in three games, and he'll look to add to those totals when Canada faces the winner of a Czechia-Denmark qualifying tilt in Wednesday's quarterfinal.

Stone has cooled off following a 12-goal, 11-assist binge over 14 games from Dec. 29 to Jan. 23. He's earned just five helpers and seven shots over his last five outings. Even with the dip in production, Stone has an excellent 20 goals, 35 helpers, 88 shots on net, 31 blocked shots and a plus-15 rating over 39 appearances. Staying healthy will be the big challenge, but if he can, he could push to top the career-best 73 points he produced between Vegas and Ottawa in 77 regular-season games in 2018-19.

After helping to set up Jack Eichel for the game's opening tally early in the first period, Stone provided Vegas with two insurance markers in the third. Stone extended his point streak to 14 games in the process, a stretch in which he's delivered a sizzling 12 goals and 23 points. He has 20 goals and 52 points through 34 appearances this season.
