Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Signs overseas
Boedker agreed to terms on a two-year deal with HC Lugano on Tuesday.
Boedker's deal won't kick in until the 2020-21 campaign, so he will still be available for the Senators should the league resume regular-season contests. Even with a 24-team playoff model, Ottawa won't be partaking in a postseason, so at most, Boedker has 11 more games remaining before jetting off to Europe. At 29 years of age, this may mark the end of the winger's NHL career, which would see him eventually retire having registered 118 goals and 209 helpers in 709 games for the Coyotes, Sharks, Senators and Avalanche over the course of his 12-year career.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Played last nine games before pause
Boedker played just 20 games in 2019-20 before the hiatus, nine of which came directly before the league suspended play.
The reality is that Boedker is probably not going to be around when the Senators are ready to contend again. Unless he's moved in the offseason, he's probably not worth considering from a fantasy standpoint in 2020-21.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Nets shorthanded goal in win
Boedker scored a shorthanded goal during Thursday's 4-3 win over the Islanders.
Appearing in just his 17th game of the season, Boedker scored his second goal of the 2019-20 campaign. He's barely played for the Senators this year, which makes Boedker a non-factor in all fantasy formats.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Can't crack lineup
Scoring his first goal of the season didn't help Boedker get back on the ice, as he was a healthy scratch in his team's recent games against Toronto and Dallas.
It's clear that Boedker does not fit coach D.J. Smith's plans. If the former is not in the Senators' plans for this season, there is no reason he should be in yours unless the Senators can move him by Monday's trade deadline. Even then, you'll likely be able to get him cheap.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Skating as defenseman in practice
Boedker has been on the ice for Ottawa, but is nowhere near a return to action, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Garrioch also reports that Ottawa has tried to trade him but has not found a partner yet. Boedker came over in the forced trade of Mike Hoffman, which has continued to be a disaster for the Senators, as he's done next to nothing in Ottawa and carries a $4 million cap hit, making him very difficult to deal. Odds are that he'll only have value if he's traded, but it's hard to see him helping a contender if he can't crack the lineup for the Senators, who sit 14th in the Eastern Conference.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Sees ice time dwindle
Boedker logged just 6:09 of ice time against Columbus on Monday, which was just the sixth game he's appeared in this season.
Boedker hasn't been able to carve out a regular role in Ottawa's lineup and it doesn't appear that's going to change anytime soon. Barring a slew of injuries that force him into the lineup, there's no need to consider him in any fantasy format.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Struggling to crack lineup
Boedker has been a healthy scratch for five of the Senators' first eight games of the campaign.
To make matters worse, the veteran winger has only averaged 7:28 of ice time in the three contests he's appeared in. Boedker can be ignored in all fantasy formats.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Quiet in preseason debut
Boedker (hip) made his preseason debut Wednesday against Vancouver, logging three shots on goal in 10:10 of ice time.
Boedker had been sidelined with a hip-flexor injury for most of Ottawa's training camp prior to Wednesday's contest, so the Senators clearly decided to ease him in by limiting his ice time against the Canucks. The 29-year-old winger will skate in a middle-six role for Ottawa this season and should also see time on one of the team's power-play units.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Sidelined by hip-flexor issue
Boedker will miss the first few days of Ottawa's training camp due to a hip-flexor injury, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Boedker's injury doesn't sound overly serious, but there's no reason for the veteran to exacerbate the issue by gutting it out during the Senators' first few training camp practices. The Danish winger will set his sights on recovering in time for Ottawa's preseason opener against Toronto on Tuesday.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Struggling through point drought
Boedker has not scored in his past four games and has just four points in the month of March
Boedker is actually right in line with his standard point totals for the season, but his March slump is not a positive sign given that it's also come with reduced ice time following the Senators' unloading at the trade deadline. Given that he's not producing and is a total anchor on your plus-minus numbers, it's best to look elsewhere right now.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Sitting Sunday
Boedker will be a healthy scratch for Sunday's home tilt against the Flames, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
With Ottawa dealing forwards Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel already, the thought was Boedker would see more ice time, but apparently that isn't the case. The 29-year-old has just four points in his past 10 games while averaging 14:05 of ice time. Drake Batherson will likely draw into the lineup and take Boedker's place on the second power-play unit.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Back in lineup against Chicago
Boedker (abdomen) will suit up versus the Blackhawks on Monday, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Boedker was out of action for the previous seven games due to his abdominal injury. The winger figures to slot into a bottom-six spot for now, though the potential departures of Matt Duchene and Mark Stone at the trade deadline could create an opportunity for Bodker to log some additional minutes in a more prominent role.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Sent to IR
Boedker (abdomen) is now listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
The Senators announced Tuesday morning that Boedker is week-to-week with his injury, so the IR move makes sense. However, Ottawa currently only has 21 players on the active roster, so two more could be in line for a call-up ahead of Wednesday's road game against the Maple Leafs.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Week-to-week with injury
Boedker is dealing with a mid-body injury and is considered week-to-week.
The news effectively rules Boedker out for at least the next three games, though it certainly sounds like it could be longer. The Danish winger is sitting with 28 points on the year and should still be able to crack the 30-point threshold for the fourth time in his career this season. The 28-year-old will almost certainly be placed on injured reserve shortly in order to open up a roster spot for a player to be promoted from the minors.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Absent from practice
Boedker was missing from Monday's practice due to an undisclosed injury, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
The team won't have an update on Boedker until Tuesday, per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun, so fantasy owners will have to take a wait-and-see approach for the time being. The winger missed Saturday's clash with Detroit and should probably be considered questionable at best to play versus the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Goals hard to come by in 2018-19
Boedker has five goals and 27 points in 50 games this season.
Boedker hasn't scored a goal since Dec. 15, yet he's still been an effective player offensively thanks to his assist numbers. Coming out of the All-Star break, the Senators' forward will undoubtedly be looking to take better advantage of scoring opportunities and bump up his 7.9 shooting percentage.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Fuels offensive explosion
Boedker scored a goal with three assists in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Sharks.
All eyes were on Erik Karlsson in his return to Ottawa on Saturday, but instead it was one of the players the defenseman was traded for who stole the show. One of Boedker's helpers came on the power play, and the 28-year-old also chipped in three shots, a blocked shot and a plus-3 rating. The winger had only three points (all assists) in his prior 12 games, and while he got some satisfying revenge against his former club, Boedker's three goals and 16 points in 27 games only put him at the margins of fantasy relevance in shallower formats.

Senators' Mikkel Boedker: Garners two helpers in loss
Boedker fashioned a pair of assists -- including a power-play helper -- in Wednesday's 7-4 home loss to the Flyers.
Acquired in the Erik Karlsson trade, Boedker looks comfortable in his new digs. He now has three helpers through his first four games with Ottawa, and Boedker entered this latest contest averaging 3:05 of ice time on the man advantage. The Dane may never live up to his billing as the Coyotes' first-round (eight overall) draft pick, but he still can fly down the ice and create offense with relative ease.
