New York City is home to two professional sports figures with the last name Girardi. There’s of course Yankees manager Joe Girardi and then New York Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi. The duo had some yucks with the commonality in a video that helped the Rangers unveil the jerseys they will wear for their Stadium Series games at Yankee Stadium.

When Dan Girardi arrived to his locker stall at Yankee Stadium for the team's practice Saturday, he had a surprise from his co-star. The Yankees skipper left the Rangers rearguard an autographed jersey of his with a note.

It reads, “To Dan, Sorry About The Mix-Up!”

That's certainly a nice gesture from Joe Girardi to give his fellow Girardi an extra special way to remember this unique event. If nothing else, this may be the beginning of a great buddy comedy duo at some point down the line.

The Rangers will meet the New Jersey Devils Sunday and will take on the New York Islanders Wednesday in the two Stadium Series tilts in New York City.
