A lot of wild, unpredictable things can happen at a wedding.
Many of them fun. Maybe something regrettable depending on the bar status. Just about all of them memorable for one reason or another.
For Kate Cleaver, who was preparing to be married in a July 4 ceremony on Robin Lake in Ontario, her day involved a surprise visit from Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw and a very special friend.
The Stanley Cup.
In an email to Justin Breen of DNAinfo, Cleaver wrote:
"How many people can say they got at picture with the Stanley Cup in their wedding gown with their favorite player? I've dreamed of my wedding day since I was a little girl!
It turned out to be all I ever dreamed of and MORE thanks to Andrew! Having the Cup there took my mind off of how nervous I was to walk down the aisle. I was so excited to be taking a picture in my wedding gown with the Stanley Cup!"
And now the photographic evidence.

The wedding happened to coincide with Shaw's day with the Stanley Cup which was taking place at the same lake where Shaw's family also owns a home.
And as it turns out, this wasn't just some random encounter where Shaw dropped in on a complete stranger.
Shaw's sister, Alex, was one of Cleaver's bridesmaids for her wedding and was unable to take part in her brother's Stanley Cup festivities. Shaw and Cleaver were also paired together as groomsman and bridesmaid during his sister's wedding a year ago.
