Cowboys' Brandin Cooks: Stays limited Thursday
Cooks (knee) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports.
Cooks followed up Wednesday's capped walkthrough with another limited listing one day later. The Cowboys designated him for return from injured reserve Tuesday, and he's seeking his first game action since Week 4 after developing an infection in his right knee from a minor surgery. With CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) going from limited to no activity in the first two days of Week 12 prep, Cooks could be in line for a bigger role in the Dallas passing game if the team opts to activate him in advance of Sunday's contest is Washington.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Still not practicing
Ferguson (concussion) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports.
Ferguson has yet to make any notable progress through the protocol for head injuries after sustaining a concussion in the first quarter of Monday's eventual loss to the Texans. Coach Mike McCarthy relayed Tuesday that Ferguson is unlikely to be available for Sunday's game in Washington, and the Cowboys could confirm as much once they post their final practice report Friday. Fellow TE Luke Schoonmaker would stand to benefit if Ferguson is sidelined this weekend.

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Sits out practice Thursday
Lamb (back/foot) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports.
Lamb's status for Week 12 thus seems to be murky after kicking off the week with a limited session Wednesday due to back and foot injuries. Friday's practice likely will be key for the fifth-year wide receiver's upcoming availability Sunday at Washington. In two games mostly working with Cooper Rush under center, Lamb has managed 14 catches (on 22 targets) for 114 yards and no touchdowns.

Cowboys' Brandon Aubrey: Limited to four points in Week 11
Aubrey knocked down his lone extra-point attempt and connected on a 53-yard field goal while missing a 40-yard try in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans.
While Aubrey came away with his 10th field goal of 50-plus yards of the season in the loss, he nearly came away with the third 60-plus-yard field goal of his career late in the third quarter. On 4th-and-20, Aubrey converted a 64-yard attempt right down the middle with plenty of room to spare, but a Texans unnecessary roughness penalty took the points off the board while Dallas instead accepted an automatic first down. The wiped-out field goal along with a missed attempt in the second quarter that clanked off the right upright thus limited Aubrey to a season-low four points on the night.

Cowboys' Jonathan Mingo: Comes up empty in team debut
Mingo played 24 of the Cowboys' 83 offensive snaps and failed to reel in any of his four targets in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans.
Making his Cowboys debut after he was acquired from the Panthers on Nov. 5, Mingo was the only active Dallas skill-position player who finished without a reception on a night in which quarterback Cooper Rush dropped back 60 times and targeted 11 different pass catchers. Mingo finished fourth among Dallas receivers in snaps, but he could drop down a spot in the pecking order if Brandin Cooks (knee) -- who has resumed practicing this week -- is activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game at Washington.

Cowboys' Ryan Flournoy: Serves as No. 3 receiver in Week 11
Flournoy played 54 of the Cowboys' 83 snaps on offense and finished with two catches for 19 yards on three targets in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans.
With Dallas making Jalen Brooks a healthy inactive for Week 11, Flournoy stepped in as the Cowboys' new No. 3 receiver and made his first NFL start alongside wideouts CeeDee Lamb and Jalen Tolbert. Even with quarterback Cooper Rush dropping back 60 times on the night while the Cowboys trailed by double digits for most of the contest, Flournoy was unable to carve out much volume in the passing game. The rookie sixth-round pick will be a candidate to see his snaps reduced once Brandin Cooks (knee) is deemed ready to return from injured reserve.

Cowboys' Brevyn Spann-Ford: Records four catches in Week 11
Spann-Ford played 41 of the Cowboys' 83 snaps on offense and finished with four catches for 42 yards on five targets in Monday's 34-10 loss to the Texans.
Starting tight end Jake Ferguson played just seven snaps before leaving the game with a concussion, resulting in elevated playing time for Luke Schoonmaker (44 snaps), Spann-Ford and Princeton Fant (seven). With Dallas trailing by multiple scores for much of the contest, quarterback Cooper Rush dropped back 60 times on the night and targeted 11 pass catchers, with Spann-Ford being of the beneficiary of the game script. According to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, head coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged Tuesday that Ferguson "will be hard pressed" to clear concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, and while Schoonmaker would be in line to start for Ferguson, Spann-Ford would still be on track for added snaps.

Cowboys' Jourdan Lewis: Estimated as limited Wednesday
Lewis (neck) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Lewis was sidelined for the Cowboys' loss to the Texans this past Monday due to a neck injury. He wasn't able to practice last week due to the injury, and even though Wednesday's report is an estimation, his ability to participate in the walkthrough in a limited capacity indicates he is progressing through the issue. Lewis' practice participation over the next two days will indicate whether he'll return from a one-game absence against the Commanders on Sunday.

Cowboys' Eric Kendricks: Nursing shoulder injury
Kendricks (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant for Wednesday's walkthrough, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Kendricks led the Cowboys with nine tackles in Monday's loss to the Texans, but it appears the 2015 second-round pick injured his shoulder in the process. His practice participation over the next two days will provide a sense of his availability for Sunday's NFC East clash against the Commanders.

Cowboys' Tyler Guyton: Past shoulder issue
Guyton (shoulder) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimation, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Guyton sustained a shoulder injury in the Cowboys' Week 11 loss to the Texans, but Wednesday's estimated full practice session suggests that he's already moved past the issue. With the 2024 first-round pick back at full health, he's expected to serve as Dallas' top left tackle as the season progresses.

Cowboys' DaRon Bland: Could return for Week 12
Bland (foot) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Up until Wednesday, Bland had not been able to participate in practice since his 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened Oct. 30. Granted, Wednesday's session was a walkthrough as the Cowboys played Monday night, but if Bland is able to practice in at least a limited capacity Thursday and Friday, he would be in a good spot to make his 2024 regular-season debut against the Commanders on Sunday.

Cowboys' Tyler Smith: Estimated as DNP
Smith (ankle/knee) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimation, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Smith's estimated DNP on Wednesday comes as no surprise, as the third-year pro sustained an ankle injury in Dallas' Week 11 loss to the Texans. If the Tulsa product's injuries are too significant to overcome for the Week 12 matchup against the Commanders, T.J. Bass will likely serve as the Cowboys' top left guard.
